Nikes Master Plan To Takedown Fake Sneakers 

Reps exist because Nike limits stock, doesn't care about bots, and they promote resell culture. Now they gonna come for the small guys that buy reps cause nobody can cop shoes on SNKRS? 😂

I really think that this entire situation could be ended if Nike wouldn't allow any back door sells to resellers and made enough of the product available. Look at the Panda Dunks. Resellers hate that shoe because Nike made it readily available to the customers. They should just keep that going for all shoes.

Back in the day, replicas were a joke because they looked similar but could easily see that they were fakes. Now some sellers have literally 1:1 to make you question if they are even fake. Promoting should have consequences but the way the sneaker game is i dont have a problem getting fakes to wear.

Their lawsuit may end up discouraging slightly, but they can never stop this effect.

Just did my first batch, if I bought everything legit it would have been around 3000, I spent like 220. I don’t want to spend an entire months pay just for some shoes because I think they look cool. I would pay retail price for them or a little bit above if it was reasonable but since Nike likes to die all these raffles and give all the actual winnings to influencers and not actual people then it’s on them.

Well, returning reps to a Nike store is a big no go!! But Nike is literally begging people to buy replicas because of all this raffle and super limited stuff shit! I have stopped to enter any raffle and just buy the shoe I want directly in China. And I have no bad conscience with that because of that absolutely stupid sneaker game we have this days.

I’m an attorney and what is really going to be the biggest blow to Cedaz if he has to pay Nike’s attorney fees.

Got real pairs for now, but when I was a teenager, my parents would always buy me reps because they cost about 1/4 of the real thing. Never knew if they were as good as the real thing but I rocked them with pride nonetheless. I also don't say they're legit pairs, but people seldom ask that. Fast forward to today, I'm new to the sneaker culture and I have not bought any reps... YET. Yeah, I'm planning on getting reps for Travis lows(all of the colorways) because I ain't paying 3-10x the retail price for them. I've bought a few resell-priced pairs but I shudder at the thought of getting a Travis Scott collab at a resell price. It's just not worth it. If ever I do get reps for the Travis collabs, I'll never pass them off as legit ones if ever someone actually cared to ask. But ain't no way someone random is just gonna walk up to you in public and ask if what you have on your feet is legit or not. As for the video, it looks like Nike's doing their due diligence. This might just be a couple of the first ones to be done by them and I expect them to do a lot more. I followed Cedaz due to his crazy stints(like returning the fake Nike's) but I never really got into his Discord or even thought of getting from Pandabuy. It just looks so complicated that it's not worth the effort. I'd rather hit up a rep shop(we have a lot of those here in the Philippines) and get some high-quality reps for ALMOST retail price. Yeah, reps here are almost the same as retail if they're hype pairs. For example, the TS J1 Fragment lows going for 120-150USD, but I'd rather pay that, than pay more than 1500 $ in the resell market.

Nike have brought this upon themselves by not combating reselling and the inflated prices on the after market. Not only that, many of the Nike factories have a small area used exclusively for assembling reps with the same materials and as such the quality is on a par, if not better than the originals. I have an extensive collection of official Nikes, Travis Sb's etc, but wear reps of them so I can enjoy on feet without major concerns of damaging them or having them stolen

Lame. Cedaz never sold reps, but he did promote and bring awareness of buying reps as an alternative to resell.

tbh this pisses me off... if Nike got their Sht together there would not be a need for reps at all. limiting stocks and promoting a resell culture is a good way to make people look elsewhere. I wouldn't mind if there was no limit to purchasing a specific pair within a period of time at their online store (SNKRS) at retail with a waiting list attach to specific pairs or something. it's so sad that people cant go to their online or local stores at launch day and cant find the pair they want cause bots and resellers took over every sale.

Nike needs to focus their energy on bots and people backdooring their shoes instead of going after people imitating the shoes. They can do that later. Make the shoes available for the people who want them that way we won’t have to go to resellers or purchase reps.

The problem with fakes now is that they are now called UA which is unauthorized authentic, the rep shoes which most commonly include Kobe’s Travis Scott shoes and off white, are produced in the same factories as real shoes but people just create extra shoes to sell on their own so the materials are the same and everything they just aren’t approved by Nike

Maybe returning fakes to a Nike store and recording it is probably when he went too far. Loads of people promote replicas which is one thing, but this a double whammy a) you're not buying it of Nike, so they lose out, but I guess they can live with that and b) you're selling fakes back to nike and promoting it, which let's face it is illegal and will be seen as theft. I'm not judging either way, but those in power are.

Sharing my opinion on fake sneakers: I wear the shoes I like for me and what I think look good, for my self esteem. If Nike or any major store like footlocker etc has them in stock, I will 100% buy the retail version of them, no question. If they do not, then the only option are resellers or reps. In either case, Nike has already made their money and gain no further profit from the market since they have no stock. If a shoe is near retail, then I will buy the authentic from a reseller. Once a shoe hits $250+ that's when i seriously question my purchase and if I want the reseller price or rep. I would never financially profit in any way off reps. I wear the shoes I like for me and what I think look good, for my personal self-esteem.

I think reps are fine as long as you're not doing crap like selling them as real or returning them to the store. For personal use? Who cares. I have retails and rep sneakers. Reps for sneakers I would've never had a chance to get otherwise without spending $3000-$25,000. Yes for a pair of shoes. This is all because Nike won't make more shoes. Rep market exists because of them. If they really want to stop it then they should look at what people like about reps. Main draw appears to be 1) affordability - It's cheaper to buy reps 2) availability - so many of my friends get sad about not hitting on SNKRS on a shoe they really wanted 3) quality - yes! It's a damn shame but often times; if you go with a good batch, the quality can be better than Nike themselves produces. If Nike addresses all of these problems it would immediately destroy the rep market. Which they won't

If Nike would lower their fucking prices, they could end this shit. Everyone would say, why should I pay 40$ for fakes when I can get the real deal for 60$ for example. What makes Nike so unpleasant is their greediness. It's so sad, because it shows in a real market they couldn't compete.

The manufacturing of reps are only going to get worse going forward as Nike is going to trim their stock output in 2024. Limited pairs will be even more limited.

I own real and reps, Im happy buying reps as its a chance of getting very limited edition shoes that would normally cost 10's of thousands of pounds. if any every asks me I always say if i'm wearing reps and i only ever buy for myself. I see no harm in them especally if Nike no longer sell them anyway

This will never be fixed because people with money will throw extra hundreds to thousands on shoes because of the hype and because they want them. If no one was willing to pay more then retail, then this wouldn’t be a problem.

If nikey expanded supply at the same rate demand is increasing it would be ok as there would still be an element of scarcity but the new demand has newly matched supply

Stopping Cedaz will not stop reps. Making sneakers more available and actually restricting resellers stop reps. As long as their current scarcity model keeps going. Another cedaz with a new method will reappear.

Let's put it this way. I am a student who needs to provide for myself while pursuing my education and I also want to dress nicely, so do I pay this months rent or do I buy some sneakers that look cool?

If people choose to wear Reid that’s their business. Don’t bother me one bit. I don’t think Nike sneakers are that expensive. But it’s the limited quantities and the resellers buying up all the inventory is the main issue. At the end of the day Nike isn’t losing anything. Because all their shoes are being bought. I’m starting to think Nike is a reseller of their own products. Makes no sense that a pair of sneakers is so hard to get without shelling out an arm and a leg.
