Haley said, “We’ve NEVER been a racist country.” Then goes on to say “I know, I faced racism growing up.” What!!? This is what happens when you lie all the time, you can’t remember the most recent lie that rolled out of your mouth!

She is a perfect example of politicians that will say just about anything to get elected.

The former president is questioning Nimarata’s citizenship even though she was born in SC. But she thinks the US isn’t racism.

The problem with racism is that it is interwoven within all structures and power systems of the USA, which affects the lives of minorities. Minorities would not care if their lives were not affected by racism.

One of the first steps to fixing a problem is to first admit that there IS a problem 😕 then the problem must be addressed in order to actually resolve it. How are we suppose to end racism, when we can't even properly address racism because so many people still refuse to even admit that racism exists 🤔

Perhaps most Republicans aren’t racist, but they support many politicians who are pretty openly racist. So at best, most are willing and able to overlook racism, which speaks loudly enough for itself.

Now see this is why the term women of color and POC need to be exclusively for unambiguous people. Ana Alyssa and Nikki (I’ll even say joy)can all identify as white if they wanted to if not passing. So their experience is definitely different from a Sunny or Whoopi. It’s simple, they are having issues with ethnicity and perhaps language barriers or xenophobia. However they are what I call adjacent white. Many Asians and Latin folks are… they like to benefit from their privilege and then try to be inclusive when it comes to their own personal or family issues in regards to race. I think this definition of woc implies or others them so they are not seen as enabling racism. But I don’t think Nikki has done a good job of representing her family history and future generations. She will have mixed grandchildren… I hope she can protect them by using her voice to speak truth to power.

I am South African living in Australia. My son travels frequently to many countries. When he has to go to America, I only start breathing when he’s on the plane leaving America. I always tell him, if the cops stop you, don’t argue, don’t reach for your phone, don’t try to explain. He has been stopped many many times in America by the cops. I am eternally grateful that he has chosen Europe as his residing country and not America.

With her Civil War comment, I could see how someone could defend what she said. But for her to say that the US was NEVER a racist country? That is clearly not true, and I feel that someone who is part of the US political system for years saying something like that either calls for concern about her mental well-being or is flat out not telling the truth.

I grew up in Michigan in a small country town. They were very racist and prejudice. My parents were very racist and prejudice. Yes we have made some improvements in our consciousness, but we are still a very racist and prejudice country. And the difference between the wealthy and the poor is unbelievable.

My personal opinion, I'm not sure (i'm not a person to discuss race and politics). I recently went to the Legacy Musuem in Montgomery, Alabama during a union conference during the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Weekend. Personally, it was a profound experience (no cameras, electronic devices and no photos were allowed, there is no explanation because it will be extremely hard to explain to someone during my musuem visit, each individual must decide) Racism is part of American History in this country and the Caribbean which continues today. This is facts and recorded, in addition African and African-American Professor, best-selling author, historian and filmmaker Henry Louis Gates Jr. did four-part T.V series (film documentary) and best-selling book of the same name BLACK IN LATIN AMERICA and other race-related documentaries here in America. I just saw the Ava Duvernay movie "Origins" based on the book "Caste" written by Isabel Wilkerson. The movie made me think more deeply about racism in this country. It is a way more complex issue than race. Irish and Italians suffered discrimination in this country and they BOTH present as White people.
