Niko Bellic from GTA 4 true story in Yugoslavia serbwave balkaniZation source: Behind Enemy Lines 2001 movie music: Infraction - Just Evil Boosty: boosty.to/mauzer
It's Serbian, they made him Niko Belić, and in the game he was even talking Serbian language in several occasions, but somehow they told the audience that he is a Russian, I think they themselves didn't know the difference between Serbian and Russian, it's the same to them, which is really close to the truth
That was a funny mistake. Since the name is Serbian, its pronnounced "Bellitsch", but when the dubbing of GTA 4 began, the voice actors read the name like it's spelled, Bellic, and thought the dude is American, so they pronnounced it as "Bellik". They realized it too late, too many scenes were already recorded, so "Bellitsch" became "Bellik". I think this problem could be solved like a dude here on YT did when doing a bio about him. His real name is Nikolai Bellic, pronnounced Bellitsch, but when he left Serbia, he changed it to Niko Bellic, pronnounced Bellik.
@@hansgans297 the meaning of moral is lost on people like you who dismiss symbolism as something to laugh at. I don’t see any legends among Russia and here they are at 6 months.

@otto Lincoln There were a lot of lies that the west perpetuated to “justify” the invasion of Iraq. At the end of the day though, Saddam was an evil man. Up to that point he was just seen as a necessary evil. It was inevitable, he got bolder with age, the repeated war crimes he committed in norther Iraq alone were justification for intervention. It was wrong for the west to lie about WMD’s, but you should still blame Saddam. He may not have had WMD’s, but what he had been doing, is killing civilians in northern Iraq with Mustard gas and Serine Nerve gas. At the end of the day, Saddam was a criminal. And he did need stopped. I just don’t understand why politicians needed to lie about “WMD’s”.
@@TheUnseenSoldier I don't know why the lie that there were no WMDs is still so prevalent. We DID find them, in multiple locations. Mostly chemical weapons, precursors for producing more, and manufacturing sites of chemical weapons. Not to mention there is satellite imagery confirming some mysterious convoys of trucks moving out of Iraq and into Syria in the months leading up to the 2nd invasion, wonder what those were carrying?
@@panzerkiller13 Who knows? WMD’s? Maybe. There’s no proof, and without proof, it didn’t happen. I mentioned chemical weapons already. Chemical weapons aren’t “WMD’s”. A justified intervention? I believe so. The madman was committing genocide on the Kurds. WMD’s true? Lie? We’ll never know. And if we don’t know, we can’t assume it’s true because we can’t prove it. Due process man.
Behind Enemy Lines was set in the Bosnian War. Niko Bellic mentioned that he was betrayed 10 years ago. This is strange because If he was betrayed 10 years ago, then he was betrayed in 1998. 3 years since the signing of the Dayton Agreement which ended the Bosnian War. So Niko Bellic gets betrayed during the Kosovo War which began in 1998.
I saw the movie. It was a complete failure in terms of script. But the dude who played Nico and the ''bad commander who looked like Jeliko...'' were the best figures i saw in a movie so far!!!
well I heard some dudes from R* wanted to be movie directors themselves or smoething like this that's why for example such a cinematic intro to gta IV etc so yeah they propably know what is good movie character and definitely have a good taste, dude from this movie played it fkin perfectly
Makes sense he did was told he would voice and do a character for a game and fly out for 30 days they didn’t say for what tho so Didn’t make sense to travel all the way from Russia for that
This is one of the best films of the 00's! It's so gritty and hard core, I love this film and the bad guys are really good bad guys too. Most of todays films don't even compare to this classic. I also like the sum of all fears!

Can't describe how much Slav aesthetics this film displays, Ushankas, Balaklavas, AK's Striped Tracksuits, dark eerie enviroment, forest, genocide. You see the soldiers slowly patrolling on the hills, with Tanks and BMP's infront, you get the "All Ghilled Up" Cod 4 feeling
