The Denver Nuggets took back control of their series with a 118-102 home win over the Phoenix Suns. Nikola Jokić led Denver with 29 points, 13 rebounds and 12 assists. Kevin Durant had 26 for the Suns but went 0-3 from three. Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe share the biggest reason Denver won Game 5.

The point isn’t about him being 7ft tall. The point should be why is he given such a limited role on the team with a supermax contract?? You don’t expect someone whos making 4yrs/$132M to be just doing simple pick and rolls and midranges. Why isn’t the offense gameplan running through him more? Why isn’t Monty drawing iso post ups for Ayton? If they’re not gonna fully utilised him then why give him a supermax in the first place? Why don’t they trade him to make cap space so they could’ve keep Cam Johnson and Mikal Bridges? Im thinking their entire franchise including the head coach, front office and the players have to decide what’s next for them. Build around Book and Kd? (Which is the most obvious and easiest plan to go for since they already figured out the pieces already) or to include Ayton in the picture as well and then formulating a different game plan for Ayton as well. If I’m the team owner and seeing my $132M going to someone who’s just doing pick and rolls and midranges I’ll shoot my brains out considering many cheaper options are out there in the league willing to do the same but at a lower cost.

I said it before; Suns only have TWO guys that can get you points. That's KD and Booker, that's an unbelievable amount of pressure for the Suns. Both need to get you 80 points by themselves just to get the bench some breathing room. They don't have good bench depth. Could it be that KD is just not the guy that you the media make him out to be? Do not get me wrong, he is an amazing talent, but he is definitely not in the same class as Bron; and l know that a few years ago there were many who were even saying that he was better than Bron. l think sometimes people mistake a player being on a better team as being better than another player; and for most of KD's championship runs that was just what happened. He was on a better team (GSW) and came up against Bron and credit to him he won both chips and was Finals MVP. Now we have seen it in 3 other places (OKC, Brooklyn & Phoenix) where he has had the opportunity to be the man and he has come up short.

OKC was never really built to win. There were a lot of injuries and drama in Brooklyn, although he was part of it. He just got to Phoenix in the middle of this season.

@@TrueGuardify you are definitely right, he is top 15, no question. I only brought up the point of how some tried to rate him as being better than Bron. As for Kawhi, he is probably the worst or the most unfortunate of them all. I believe one of the hallmarks of a great player is availability, and he is pretty low in that department.

KD is still phenomenal but let's be honest. There hasn't really been any decent argument that he's the best player alive at least since his achilles tear. Since then Giannis and Jokic and the last couple years of Embiid are on another level and KD isn't touching them. Not to mention before KDs injury he was obviously behind LeBron, but I don't even want to mention that since Skip hates him. But just because of those 3 big guys, Skip really needs to move on with mentioning KD and "the best player on the planet" at the same time

I think that Denver altitude is an obvious problem for any team that they face. KD was winded in the 1st quarter and I think D-Book was winded at the beginning of the 3rd.

Oh this mile high is absolutely a home field or court advantage. I'll throw some hockey at you guys. Last year the Colorado Avalanche faced the Tampa bay lighting in the cup finals. The avalanche won game 1 in Denver in overtime. Game 2 was a 7-0 blowout by Colorado. Tampa was just absolutely gassed by halfway through the game. When a team here in Colorado is playing well and a championship team mile high is a nightmare to play especially in the playoffs and they have home court or field

Joker has been the best center in the NBA for years. Drandre is top teer center, but he gets into his own head too often at the worst time. Suns should win this next game. But that's as far as their wins go the season. Next year, they'll draw solid talent to them cause lots of ring less ballers would love to have the opportunity to get them with Book and Slim Reaper. Bench will be deeper, which will help reduce the load on the older Suns.
