In today’s nba people overvalue individual defense far too much. Great offense will always beat great defense. Murray was more important in this series, his 4th quarter explosion in game 2 and 1st half explosion in game 3 basically ended the series.

Idk how many people know this but Jokic is the lowest drafted player to ever become MVP let alone two. 41st in the 2nd round. Giannis and Karl Malone are the next lowest at #15 and #13 in the 1st round if I'm not mistaken.

I can buy Chris’s argument, that to win 3 in a row, Jokic needs to put up even better numbers, but Nick’s playoff narrative, it’s a regular season award, and every Batman needs a Robin, Jokic was without his for two straight playoffs and no MPJ in one of them too. It’s not like he had a healthy squad and failed miserably.

Jokic is a throwback player and its really refreshing to see. Modern NBA fans swear a big like jokic or shaq couldnt dominate todays game because of the 3 point shot. If anything its quite the opposite. Players of this Era couldnt have a hope to stopping a big on that level.

What Nick truly fails to understand, is that a player isnt great because they won a championship, great players win championships.
