The three time league MVP, Nikola Jokic got his most recent trophy before game 5 in the Nuggets semifinal matchup against the Timberwolves...then dropped a HISTORIC game to remind us all who the hell he is.
He was on a MISSION last night. No one thinks about Jokic as a scorer, but he AVERAGED 30 points per game last postseason. He is averaging 29 per game right now.
I'm a Black guy, and I gotta say I LOVE that the best player in the NBA is the NOT "Bigger, Stronger, Faster" and YES White, European baller (and horse ethusiast) Nikola Jokic. This guy blows away all of the narratives the NBA tries to push!
I mean, as much as lebron wants to talk like he's so smart, he's always been fairly dumb. He only sees surface level reads and that's why he always wants to pass in crucial situations because he can't see the second or third level. Jokic has none of the physical gifts but he's definitely got the basketball iq.
@@skap_attackThey would have probably made the argument that he is greater than all the biblical prophets combined. The 4andSixers are worshiping hard
Don't be so arrogant, I think nobody believes that Denver could win 3 game in a row against that wolves team after the first 2 disastrous games. Nuggets are just at another level now
Sooooo many talking heads were strutting around and talking shit a week ago. The series is far from over, but just based on the last three games, they owe Jokic an apology.
after the back and forth between Curry and LeDiddy. i had to stop but Jokic's Performance in the Bubble shocked me while making me a fan and made me watch NBA again
you sure about that? the timberwolves turned off their defensive fervor in game 2. their rebounding effort is looking worse than the lakers. wolves folding like cardboard
@@skap_attack You should do a video on how Lebron fans hate Jokic. They hate him because he is doing things lebron was expected to do since he came in the league.
I never thought I'd see a player better that would make me say "wow" like Jordan did, but Jokic is right there. The best part about it all, is the way he carries himself on and off the court. No words man, he's crazy.
blks say rudy is bad because they dont want to admit how good jokic is. constant tactic. they focus on how bad the team is that play nuggets. if its lakers they focus on how great lebron is or wolves antman.
@@reeseangle9621 Stop it you lebron fans are ridiculous, prisoner of what moment? I've seen this league since 1984 and only the lights ofm kobe, Hakeem, and Jordan had made me go wow. There has never been a player with all his skills as a Center wilt had some of that but he wasn't consistent he was a rebounding and put points on the basket beast, but this guy is rebounding, passing, and scoring while having no all star or all nba or all defense or dpyo etc, and dismantlingthe best best defensive team in the league. You know what was a prisoner of the moment though lebron I never seen such a guy get promoted and pushed by 1 cheating the game, 2 being a premadonna, 3 stacking all his teams to the teeth and playing in a awful Eastern conference titles just to lose 6xs and two out of those 4 rings where suspect rings specially the bubble. Now wipe your lebozo tears you lebron fans have no shame.
@@reeseangle9621that comment right there made you the greatest of all time. FOH I guess ring chasing super teams are the only thing people are allowed to enjoy...
@@Q.B.2.L.B.brother, Jokic got an entire arsenal his opponents gotta deal with lmfao.. He's a threat on all levels Other than being bigger than everyone else and playing bully ball, what was Shaq even good at??
Jokic and the Nuggets is a one superstar team with an organic roster that morphed into a super team. NBA SHOULD be PROUD that they’ve selected the true MVP of this season.
They don't have his back. You don't have to sniff his jock like LeBaby, but they dont wanna market him like they would with anyone else, and this 0-2 hole was a really bad look for their entire operation. It makes people think they just accepted his greatness but never celebrated it at all.
@@Nofunleaguesportschannel - also: Kareem has 6. MJ has 5 along with Bill Russell Random: Karl Malone having 2 is like Nash having 2. Great players but not in contention for GOAT.
By previous examples it is easy to say that all media is waiting patiently to see Jokic fail to start hating on him. His end of carrier won't be pretty, and they will try to take as much as it is possible from him and from his carrier. Believe me.
Let's enjoy Nikola as much as we can. He might be the last humble, historically great Mount Rushmore player we may ever see in this (me me me superteam diva) era of basketball 🏀
Saw a stat that Jokic was 7/8 or something with Gobert guarding him in game 5. All this on the night he held his 3rd MVP trophy. Dominated the 2024 DPOY. That's entertainment!
It’s so damn satisfying watching Jokic dominate and beat the odds. A lot of ppl are being exposed as straight up haters and xenophobes for either downplaying his greatness (we all know what ppl would be saying if Bron put up these numbers in his prime) or trying to discredit it. And to top it off, he could hardly care what ppl think! Jokic is simply inevitable. Thank you for always keeping the same energy and vouching for this guy🙌🏾🔥
For the first time since MJ I watched a basketball game. I really enjoyed it. It was exciting I didn’t know a single player. Jokic reminds of Larry Bird. When his team needed him he stepped up
Minnesota was understandable, they pulling for their team. Lakers, though? Wishful thinking. They wanna see the Nuggets lose so badly they will jump any bandwagon they can. Those folks are praying for a miracle or just wanting to see Denver fail to feel better about their team.
Difference between laker and lebron fans should be separated I am still a laker fan not right now I'm in hiatus until that bozo leaves but seeing that guy play is amazing that shot over gobert and hitting that dagger 3 threw me out of my chair.
Lebron glazer here. Just wanted to say I got a lot of respect for the effort skap puts into videos even if I don’t always agree with the content. But yes. Jokic is EASILY the best player in the league
This dudes' consistency, work ethic and self discipline, are just fantastic, really inspiring. Working on a video, editing it takes time, which makes it really impressive that he upload every other day now.
@@z-mane1438 bro I hold skap to Lebron standards almost every vid. You can go check. I’m one of his biggest critics fs. But even I can see effort in his videos
Jokic is insane. The "Dream Shake" was the cherry on top, lol. Especially after getting elbowed in the face and hard fouled all night. Can you imagine LeBALCO's reaction if he was getting fouled like that constantly?
How weird is it that a large amount of basketball Twitter, & even some of the mainstream media talking heads, were so quick to try to discredit him not only as this years MVP - but I even saw certain ppl putting his entire mvp collection and championship run in question over 2 game. 2 games! 😂 Never seen something so ridiculous. It only confirmed what I already knew though - they secretly don't want Jokic to win anymore. They just don't. He's officially in that rarefied atmosphere where all the other all time greats before him have been - Bron, KD, Steph, Kobe... you name it, they've all had to go through it. There's no going back now. But all they're subconsciously telling us is, they themselves also feel he's already an all time great - or at least well on the way there. Shaq knows exactly what he's looking at in Jokic... and despite all the success he's had in his career - and his status as a beloved HOF'er and the most dominant big man ever - it has to be bitter sweet watching another centre not only killin it, but basically reinvent the position and do things he probably never thought a centre would be able to do. The elite playmaking, the vision, the passing depth/range, the soft touch, the threat from 3pt range, the post moves and finesse, the foot work, the game intelligence in real time - yeah, you better believe watching shit like what Jokic did these last few games makes Shaq uncomfortable...
VERY well said here in this comment. And I agree with a lot of this. THOUGH for SOME "all-time greats", they are accepted and praised FAR EASIER than others. While this doesn't pertain to Shaq, as Shaq is just sheer jealousy as you pointed out, but for the majority of the talking head out-takers out there, Jokic threatens their entire premise of basketball in the 2020s. This mediocre athlete with SUPREME skills and work ethic is undressing this entire era and EXPOSING the golden goose they've propped up for nearly 20 years. It is utterly hilarious to see all of the pontificating and head exploding going around today.
Exactly and all the prisoner of the moment Jokic haters have gone quiet again. I don't understand how you can hate a player who plays selflessly and doesn't cheat the game?
Skap, you just pointed out some facts that sounded like this…Nikola, after being down 0-2, put the entire Nuggets team on his back and didn’t need a super team built around him and didn’t need other All-Stars surrounding him in order to beat a team that has 2-All-Stars, has the NBA’s 6th Man of the Year, current defensive player of the year, had the best defense throughout the year and start of the playoffs, and that same team hasn’t lost 3 straight games all season??? It’s strange how after 21 seasons, LeBron still isn’t capable of doing that… Nikola helps make his teammates better by supporting them and encouraging them to keep pushing through whatever slump they may be going through…That’s the attitude and heart of a champion…✌️🎤🔥
Said this after game 2, is turning out to be quite accurate. 😊 "It'll be VERY hard to come back from this, but if anyone can do it, it's the Nuggets! But Jamal and especially Jokic HAVE to be better, HAVE to give it THEIR ALL!! 🙏🙏 Still can be an epic series!!👍"
I couldn't believe what I saw last night. This dude is on an entire different level. His passing alone is insane. What's going to happen when he gets another all-star teammate???
Jokic is the perfect counter point to people who say players from previous eras could never play in today’s NBA. People love to say “they played against plumbers” but I find it weird nobody seems to be laughing at current players or “The King” for losing to a horse racer.
Honestly, I have watched virtually every single series of every round of the NBA playoffs for closing in on THIRTY YEARS. Very little surprises me. If you told me this is where it would be after that game 2, I would have been SHOCKED.
When they won last year in dominant fashion over the league they showed dynasty potential. If they win again this year the dynasty talks will grow stronger. Just them winning 3 straight in strong fashion after starting 0-2 against the league's best defense showed that dynasty potential again. But who knows? They could either be like the 1988-1990 Pistons that were a dynasty-lite, or like the Spurs that won across 16 years, or they could threepeat which is the hardest thing to do.
@@jessiegomez8209 this was a GREAT game man! Tons of drama. Nuggets choked it away man 15 point lead at home?? AE played terribly on offense? And you still lose? Credit the others in that Wolves team they are HUNGRY and COMPOSED. Great win Wolves 🐺
They took it personal and bounced back. I know a lot of players that would rather give up and blame someone instead of putting the effort and win at all costs. This is what a leader does. Jokic made his whole team better, again. Also coach Malone deserves credit as well.
Jokic plays the most inspirational basketball I've seen in years - his playmaking skills is incisive and brilliant - AND he inspires others to play better. Never have I seen a player as gifted as him work with people (nowhere near his level) and achieve so much. I say that as a fan of The Nuggets. I genuinely love Murray, KCP, Gordon, MPJ and Jackson - but imagine how much more they could accomplish if they had more consistency at an All NBA player to help him out. He is brilliant without being arrogant, and regardless of what happens on the floor, he never blames his teammates or coach. We need more players like him. And yes - his game yesterday was outstanding.
It's good to see a team being built instead of bought. The Nuggets show that you can have decent players who play their part and can win big. It's showing that basketball is a skill game and it's great to see from both teams.
Shaq and the entire media slandered the ever living hell out of this man. It was pathetic. And now they need to start eating some crow regardless of how this run turns out. He has been absolutely ABSURD these last three games.
I am cautiously optimistic that this team signals the turn around for the NBA. I also appreciate the fact that, for the most part, the refs are letting the players actually play basketball. Although the defensive side of the ball still needs a boost. Great work doggie. 👊👊
ME TOO! I think I do ACTUALLY feel a turning of the tide here and a changing of the guard in this era. Teams and players that ACTUALLY care about winning and not building superteams. Let's keep our fingers crossed that it continues.
My favorite thing about game 5 was the MVP dropped buckets on the DPOY (was 7/8 or something when guarded by Gobert). That's basketball entertainment right there!
I love how he slapped the hell out of the media naysayers. Nba did well to bring back the mvp award to the playoffs instead of a stupid ceremony. The MVP immediately has to back it up and others going at their neck.
I couldn't agree more! I HATED that dumb ass banquet thing they were doing. IF you win the MVP and aren't in the playoffs still, mail it to them lol. LOVE getting the arena charged up with that presentation.
Really my first time watching Jokic last night and I could not understand how this man is so slow but so effective. Quick spin off the right shoulder to the easy lay. He was busting ass 😂😂😂.
We gotta mention how Denver's bench, in particular Christian Braun, has stepped up to the plate. CB has met or out matched 6th man of the year Naz Reid for points since game 3!
Luka Dončić is ashamed to be called Serbian just like Drazen Petrović,thay are proud of not being Serbs even if thay father is one....So stop with that!
I don't know. This team STILL has a feeling of smoke and mirrors to me. At some point, I feel like the supporting cast is going to revert back. BUT if they continue to play like last postseason and the last three games, sky is the limit here. I would love to see Murray have a completely healthy season and postseason for once and see what levels this team can reach.
As a life long Lakers fan I will say this about Jokic. When I watched showtime in the 80s any time we ran into the Celtics and Bird got the ball, I felt scared and nervous in the exact same way I do now when Jokic gets the ball. He just feels inevitable. You double, amazing pass to open dude. Single coverage, he stuffs the ball down your throat. Jokic also has what seems to be unbreakable mental, like Bird. The dude is a bigger bird or magic, he gives you that same feeling watching all the greats play does. Just helplessness, the dude is unstoppable and so crazy skilled and smart in the way he plays. There have been very few players I felt that way about. It's like Bird, Duncan, Hakeem(with the footwork on Gobert) had a baby and made this dude.
I will never call Jokic a fat European plumber anymore, even if it trolls the LBJ fanboys "superathlete" bullshit. That dude is a fucking killer. he WANTED the DPOY and just took him to school over and over again, mercilessly. fucking awesome. it's been since Kobe since i've seen someone in todays soft carebear NBA do that to someone. man just executed Gobert's whole career on the court. just awesome.
@@gloopdogg1145 here is a suggestion. stop watching all media for 3 years. then try to watch tv again. it's absolutely revolting how violent TV/Movies are. and how desensitized we are to it. I got into anime because for reasons i was disconnected from media for a few years and when i came back i found all media mostly disgusted me. cartoons at least are fun to watch mostly. can't shame a dude in his 40s who has no problem letting other people know he likes watching Japanese cartoons bro.
I love the fact that Jokic hit at least one slam-dunk and one step-back three specifically to troll the haters. "He's slow, can't jump, isn't smooth, out of shape..." All complete bullshit. Denzel said it best in Training Day: "The shit's chess, not checkers!" oh and regarding Jokic, "King Kong ain't got shit on me!"
Dominance in the post, from midrange, good enough 3pt shooting, and goat level passing. He could honestly go down as the best player ever when he retired
Jokic has proven that he deserved this year's MVP, and a whole lotta pundits owe him an apology. I think there was just a pinch of reverse racism in some of it. (Mexican guy here so don't try to put that crap on me)
Yeah there's reason to believe it's there, even though racism gets thrown around so much over non-issues nowadays that I find it cringe. I'm sticking for now with the narrative that the media wants to promote athletic American-born guards that can shoot and have a handsome smile. Not less-athletic Euro centers. They wouldn't even crown Giannis as the face of the league because he was Nigerian-European and couldn't shoot.
It's not racism - I'm black and absolutely enjoyed watching the Joker destroy Gobert. He's exciting to watch. I think it's that Jokic isn't flashy like other basketball players and the media wants flashy (athletic).
I love Ant, and he’s going to get better with time and maturity. But this is clearly Jokic’s moment and it’s also his league. Best player in the league and it’s not close.
i love it that Jokic is the poster boy for "take that, NBA! take that, mainstream media!" and my favorite... "TAKE THAT, BRONSEXUALS AND BLIND WITNESSES!"
He doesn't have tattoos. He doesn't wear golden chains. He doesn't show up for the interviews in dark glasses and designer clothes. He doesn't call himself GOAT. He doesn't post videos on Instagram carrying a gun in public. No wonder journalists don't know what to make of him.
Jokic is the return of basketball, and I love to see younger players such as Anthony Edwards saying he is the best in the world and taking him as an example. It seems that the 2010s narcissistic attitude tired the basketball community, and finally, during the 2020s, we are witnessing the next shift with the return of fundamentals and real basketball as style and stance.
Joker is a modern day magic and larry he's a great leader who makes his teammates better and has a winning mentality and never takes shortcuts like most of the modern players post the 2000s
