Here is a quick preview of the new Nikon D5200 DSLR. This camera is a decent upgrade from D5100 but it is not going to replace Nikon D7000 simply because it doesn't have some of the advanced features Nikon D7000 has. It's a great entry level DSLR specially for those looking to do portraits as now you can take advantage of 39 focusing points. The 24 megapixel is great for landscape or macro photography.

Hey bro, I've been watching your videos for a while now. You do a great job with the tutorials. Thanks a lot. I have question about night photography. How can I get a shot of two different subject in a same picture at a different focal point when shooting at night with low F value? I often get one subject blurred out. On the other hand, if I increase the F value, then my pictures are dark. Also, where should I be pointing my focal point for the same shot? Thanks man, you're awesome!

That would be interesting but do you think they'll keep up both series? They have pretty much the same features. Or will the do it like with the d4 and the d800(e), one with high resolution and one with a high burst rate??

HI i have watched lot of video of urs .. and all those were informative. thank you so much .. i m going to get my first dlsr .... i m confused i want the best in budget.... should i take d5100 or d5200. 5200 is expensive n only major difference i find is megapixel which is not so much imp for me.. n next i m confused with is focus point.. so help me ... i would be glad if u suggest other dslr near to them

What micro lens and flash do you recomend for D5200 to get perfect intraoral pictures? sigma versus nikon?

but still can we have a comparison between this two. i really want to watch it. could you suggest me which lenses to buy for wide and patriot photos. consider low to medium budget. for both of this cameras

Couple of things, dunno why you would expect this camera to have a second LCD like a semi pro or pro models, cuz this is going to replace the d5100, which is the slightly advanced entry-level camera. The semi pro model would be the D7000 and up. It's really good that the focus points have been upgraded. Also, the d5100 didn't have manual controls in video, whereas this one does. This seems to be the best of d3200's new features and d5100's established flagship entry-level dslr.

The d520, I think, will directly rival the 650d, articulating screen and all, and manual controls for video. albeit the 650d has a touch screen, which the d5200 could have incorporated, since the price, it seems is higher than the 650d. Canon is still proving to be ahead of nikon, at least when it comes to implementing the newer technologies, while nikon catches up a year later. But the d5200 will most likely be a huge success.

Oh yeah, definitely. Since your video was the first video i had seen on the d5200 and without your video, i wouldn't have known that it was coming out, i was just letting you know about the prices here... Of course, quote the price when it comes out in the US, but i can tell you it most definitely wont be in the $1000 price range for body only. as you've noted, we do pay quite a steep price here, anyway, and the d5200 is still $150 ish more than the d5100, so expect an affordable price :)

yeah, look forward to that review. i own the d3200 at the moment. can't afford a new d5200, for at least a long while, so i hope i can imagine the camera through your review :D and i dunno if you do this (and i totally understand if you don't) but I'd really appreciate it if you could mail/dropbox link,etc a few RAW files from the 5200 to me, when you find the time... i'll send you my email on that video :)

It's here in the UK. Please get your hands ont he D5200 and have a compare, you said something about the flash, so doesn't it flip up whenever you want it to like the 3000, 3100 etc

oh, it just did in India, where I'm from, so I assumed its had an international release. hmmm... well these cameras do have a standard price point internationally... it should be slightly under $770 body only, based on currency conversion.

so the d5200 isn't more expensive than the d7000. it is more expensive than the d5100- the d5200 body only costs as much as the d5100 did with the 18-55 kit lens. for the price, the features are amazing!

Check it out on Nikon India site (I tried providing the exact link here, but I'm getting an error). You'll find the price in India Rupees. Do a google conversion into USD. India does not get cheap deals on anything :D Apple Macs here cost at least $200-300 more than the international prices. Cameras more or less tend to have an standard price here, but NEVER cheaper.. :)
