Many people agree with your review that Nikon D750 is better in terms of dynamic range than Canon 5D Mark III. Nikon D750 is also better at focusing in the dark especially with photos than Canon 5D Mark III. DPReview also gives in 90% Gold rating and puts it second to Sony a7r II for best full frame DSRLs in 2016.
FYI: The video record button (right next to the shutter button) can be set to be a quick access to ISO settings (enable/disable auto ISO and also ability to change ISO value). The video record button is otherwise not functional when you're not in live view mode for video. So, it makes sense to set that button to be the ISO access so you're able to quickly access ISO settings and change them with just your right hand.
Honest review. I like it. I recently upgraded from D750 to D810.. The quality and the processing speed of D810 is mind blowing. As you mentioned it would be nice to have tilty screen on D810
Sony A7s ii > GH4 > D750 > 5D mark iii ~~ For video Nikon D810 > D750 > 5D mark iii ~~ for photo I use these daily. Yet my most used camera is the Canon G7x for video. Please buy within your means, and remember to just keep shooting.
Hi Christine & Toby - as the saying goes I liked the D750 so much I bought it. It would be worth mentioning that you can reassign the ISO button to the movie record button - the red button on the preferred right side of the camera. I hope this would readdress one of your major concerns on the D750 - the ergonomics. Hand size and shape is another thing though. Best wishes, Ben
I have a 5D Mark II right now and think of converting to Nikon D750. I have tried using the Canon 6D and I do like it but I am amazed at Nikon's Dynamic Range.
Essentially, what you are saying about the Canon 5D MkIII is that it is the benchmark. Canon set this benchmark in 2012 and it took Nikon 3 years to fully catch up and exceed the Canon. 2015 will bring 3 new full frame models from Canon to replace the 5D MkIII, 6D and possibly the 1Dx. I would recommend that Canon users don't jump ship until they see what's coming this year.
It seems wise to jump ship from Canon unless you are really not happy about using adapters, they released the 7D Mark II which has worse IQ than the entry level Nikons. That company doesn't really seem to care about improving their sensors and they are really falling behind, I think the 5D Mark III has been bested by other full frame cameras too, at least from IQ perspectives. DXOMark rates many cameras above the 5D but I know the overall package is also important.
trevorpinnocky I love my new GH4! Partly because it feels so DSLR like in the hand and comfortable, I can find all the buttons without taking my eye from the viewfinder and partly because it is fun to shoot video for all the reasons you said.
CameraRec Toby OP claimed that Canon set benchmark in 2012 with 5d mk III which was an upgrade of 5d mk II, good one but still upgrade. Where Nikon D800/800E was first of the kind and benchmark camera of 2012
You said everything about these three Nikon cameras (D610, D750 and D810) and compared them to the Canon 5D mark iii. You said it all. I think it’s the best comparison on the web. Bravo.
i switched from canon to nikon.... and i have got the d750... love the dynamic range, high iso, wifi and almost everything about it.... and the grip is perfect for my big hands.... the only thing i dont understand is why they left out the 1/8000 from this camera....
Great review! I actually really appreciate having separate live view settings. I shoot a lot of concerts and I often time shoot photos and video for a particular band, meaning I need to be able to go from shooting photos to shooting video almost instantly. With separate live view settings, I can do that, and all of my still settings remain the same once I back out, meaning I don't need to change them back
My compliments on an excellent review video. I have little interest in photography, but I watched the whole thing. It's refreshing to see an informative, lean, pleasant video. I feel like you really helped a lot of people make important decisions. Great job.
Regarding your negatives of the Nikon D750 with two handed control changing ISO with the button on the left side of the camera, the red dot record button on the top of the camera can be customised to change the ISO. After changing the function of this button ISO, aperture, and speed can all then be controlled with the right hand like on the Canon 5d mkiii.
Why are you worrying about the AWB when you'll tweak it in Lightroom anyway. And the difference between them isn't much, about 400K. Check something though, in the Shooting menu, go into WB Auto, then go right again. There should be two settings, Normal: Auto1, and Keep warm lighting colours (U is mine): Auto2. Both of which you can tinker with on a colour grid if you feel the Auto settings native to the camera aren't to your liking.
After watching review after review I went with the Canon 5D M3 and love it. One thing I have noticed from all the photographers doing these reviews comparing other cameras to the 5D M3, is that after they explain all the reasons why the other camera is better, they conclude by saying their camera of choice is still the Canon 5D M3.
Donnie Whitaker I was a canon user for years switch to Nikon and omg love it the best I ever did. Canon is so behind my images improved draminicallay so noticeable
The camera settings won't change in live view, as you called it a "quirk", unless it is in movie mode, and I believe it to be a good thing, as your movie settings are quite possible to be different from your stills settings.
Excellent review. Certainly amongst the best reviews of the D750 on YT mostly because of your in-depth, all round, hands-on impressions and comparisons to the D610 and D810. Other reviews I've watched spend way too much time on running through the spec sheet and less time about how it performs, what are the camera's idiosyncracies, etc. I've searched your videos but I can't find a review of the Nikon D810. Will there be one in the future?
Best camera I have ever owned. The prints are spectacular, and the dynamic range is astounding. LOVE LOVE LOVE it. Canon cannot match color depth and DR of Nikon. Really has been a joy to use. Professional in every way.
Thank you I have seen a number of reviews on the Nikon D750 you have done a great job. I own the D800 and the new D750 even after getting the unit in and having time to test it in studio and on location I still look at review video maybe to find insight on something I have not found yet, Again thank you Toby
Good review thanks. I'm a D600 and D7000 user and I can relate to your comments about focus speed in low light using my Nikon products. Video . . . meh! . . . I'm putting my pennies together to get a real 4K video camera like sony's PSW-FS7 because I'm tired of the compromises you have to deal with doing DSLR video, although in a pinch I'd get the G4. I've got a lot of Nikon glass so any move I make centers on that investment.
Fantastic video on all the important aspects. I own the D750 (and the D800e) and you are dead on with the low light capabilities of the 750. I happen to love the grip tho. Thanks for the review.
I picked up the D610 @ 5 years ago sh for about $800 with fairly low shutter count. For no professional use at all, I'm just a weird exigent person. I wanted a very good low light performing camera for Milky Way photography. Very pleased with it! Just recently found out that the D750 is pretty much ISO invariant above ISO100, after watching a video on the subject. Tested my D610 and I can confirm the same thing. Can't wait to see how the Milky Way looks after shot at ISO200, I'm curious
I should note, for myself, the D750 is absolutely the best grip, for me, that Nikon has ever made. I never liked Nikon's awkward grip compared to Canon's pistol-like fitting. The D750 has finally shown that Nikon listens to suggestions. Compared to the D700, which is also comfortable, the D750 is better suited for larger hands due to its deepened grip. Otherwise your fingers/fingernails would be sticking into the body or you'll have to lower your hand grip position, it was always a problem for me.
Great review thanks! Can you use the metric system when talking about specs -size, weight, etc.? Only in the US do we still use the ridiculous imperial system of units. Thanks for contributing to the progress of humankind!✌️
I'm sorry but in the video comparison, why does the D750 have an orange glow in the video (with same settings) vs the 5D Mark iii? To be honest I really liked the Canon photos they looked softer ???
I am thoroughly willing to get D750, but the issues of Nikon's colour reproduction vs Canon is bugging me. Do Nikon D750 has same issue like D4 and also D7200 with greenish tint, especially in higher iso? I have been hearing a lot that colour reproduction and skin tones of Canon is much better than that of Nikon. Yes, I have also heard these things can be corrected in post, but I am not someone who is dedicated to post production. Coming straight out the camera, do D750 have the same issue? Or is it just general that Canon are better at colour reproduction?!
+jshaw6600 Are you sure about that? I shoot with Nikon but I definitely agree that Canon has better skin tones and is more natural. Must be the Canon glass which I hear is superior compared to Nikon glass.
crxracer805 From what I've read, and from what I've seen from shooting my own D750, yes I'm sure. Canon glass is barely better in image quality. It's not noticeable because Nikon's sensors usually outshine Canon's. Canon has more lens options though.
Toby thanks for this awesome video. I have a Nikon 5300 and I wated to the a little upgrade. I'm starting to do video also, you think I should get the D750 or save up a little bit more and get D8100 ?? Thanks in advance. I appreciate all of your teachings.
Canon should introduce a newer 5d mk4 esp when you look at the pics from 16:00 onwards. After watching many videos I feel that Nikon's cameras seem to be catering to specific segments. D610 for amateurs moving into FX; D750 for photo-journalists to shoot over the heads of others with a flip screen and quickly send photos to their editors with Wi-Fi; D810 for high end professionals, landscapes, commercial photographers etc. and D5 for sports and action photographers. D500 is for wildlife and bird photography. D610 does not qualify for Nikon's NPS which is a clear indication that it is aimed at enthusiasts. So choose your camera based on your needs.
As with another comment below, I too really like the graphics and style of this review. It was VERY well done. I also agree with the person that said if they were to start all over and had not used Cannon they would likely choose Nikon. I too would probably go Nikon. Its hard to say though.... I invested in great glass so does that offset enough on things like better focusing points and the Dynamic range? There is clearly a huge huge difference in dynamic range and that is pretty important to me.
2:16 just press the shutter button halfway and it'll turn the screen off instantly. That's what I do on my D7100. I'd die if I had to wait for the preview to go away lol
Hi Toby, I recently sold my 80d with the sigma 18-35 f 1.8 and the canon 85mm f 1.8, i'm looking at the D750 for mainly stills, what are your thoughts on this and what lenses would you recommend considering the lenses i had. Thanks.
please help me decide...if you should choose only 1 or 2 lenses for nikon d750 (fx) body which one you think the best lens range for wedding (the most usefull)? 16-35mm(nikon f4 VR) , 24mm (nikon f1.8g), 35mm (sigma f1.4 ART), 85mm (nikon 1.8g) or else? please can you sort from the best choice to the worst ..
Thank you so much for the video. I’m planning to purchase my very first DSLR which is Nikon D750 along with 85mm 1.8 + 50mm 1.8 G lens. I’m wondering is it still worth to buy this camera considering 5 years old?. Purpose of buying a camera is for taking Portraits, Still, Landscape, Bird, Product photography (learning) and of course my kids. It would be really great if you throw some lights on my concern to make a wise decision.... other options I have considered is Nikon D780 with one of the lens and Z6ii with the kit lens... apart from D780 and Z6ii I have been suggesting to go with D850 with the kit lens. Thank you and looking forward to your recommendation.
Can you please recommend a good beginner DSLR camera for everyday photos. I'm sure you get this question a lot, I would appreciate your recommendation based on your expertise and experience in photography. Thank you.
I will be purchasing a D750 soon. The observation about the dual buttons on the back and being on both sides of the camera being a little inconvenient made me laugh.... My observation as being left handed, is that most of the buttons (especially the the shutter) are on the wrong side :) .......Just like the left handers, you will learn to adapt :) Oh yeah, loved the review....just more affirmation for my upgrade... :)
I recommend the Nikon D750!!! It its comfortable (I love that comfortable grip) , the image quality is amazing. Further I see no weaknesses, even if I look after. okay, in video the cam is not as good as Canon, but I dont care . I would prefer the Nikpon D750 without consideration ., just give it a try
Hi do you find the Nikon D750 better build as the front is carbon fiber.....so did you notice any problem with the grip feeling like a cheap plastic 😛 or something like that as mostly all Full Frames have the grip protion with magnesium alloy expect the Nikon D750.
Hi Akash, I was in many stores to check a bunch of cameras (even Canon and Sony Products) for my own. Its only my personal opinion, but for me the Nikons are the best in ergonomic and comfort. sony was too small for my personal flavor, canon feels like plastic (rly dont like those big bombers) and Nikon was great in my hands ^^. D750 was smaller than 810 but feels soooo great. carbon fiber feels rly rly good :) Mb you need to test it for your own. My other reasons for the D750... - less noise ratio (better than d810 and every canon on the market) at high iso - great dynamic range - fast camera I rly love that camera. Its my first FullFrame Cam, before I got an Olympus DSLR plus Panasonic. best regards
KampfQ thank you mate I'm looking up to grab a D750 i had canon 70D just used about 4months but image quality in low light was not appreciated so had to sell it and now turning to full frame and thank God i didn't bought any "L lens" it would have made me to stick towards canon 😄 Hopefully m free Nikon is the way now..!!
+Sudipto Sen > I sold my A7II just last week, had it for 6 months and just never did like the hunting it did trying to get focus in low light ... IT SUCKED!....it just didn't cut it. My D750 should be in this week!
+PhotoRec TV i want to know the ans too. I'm an enthusiast travel photographer and my requirements is from 16/18 to 50mm mostly with slightly fast lens options. I know a7ii could be a great camera but with the full frame fe mount lenses on specially something like 16-35 the so called "compactness" is not there anymore anyway but what going with d750 i would gain i guess is a better constructed body, better autofocus and lot more cheaper lens options such as nikon 18-35, tamron 28-76/24-70 and 70-200. Please advise.
How is the auto focus with the nikon d810 in low light settings versus the D750? I'm torn between the two because I shoot a lot of weddings/events, but my personal work is more portraiture.
hi PhotoRec Toby would like to see the field test review with some 1:1 shots of the Nikon D750 as no certain video is still available and your words on D750's flaring issue too...!
Yeah, for now, it looks if though Canon had fallen asleep and Nikon, Sony, and Panasonic has surpassed Canon. Canon is loosing customers everyday. We rely on Magic Lantern just to keep Canon up to date. I think Canon should give Magic Lantern a big fat check for doing what they did. If Canon doesn't pack their next cameras with everything like a new sensor that can rival Sony, 4K cameras under 2000 dollars, focus peaking, recovering shadows without colour noise, higher mega pixels, mirror less cameras,,,,,,the list is too long.... then they will become just a lens company :(
Really what happens to nikon when sony stops selling them sensors????? down the toilet they go. I shoot sony so I could care less but at least Canon develops there own technology.
M Coop Why would Sony stop selling sensors to Nikon? It is one of their main revenues....Even if Canon makes its own sensor, but why the end user should care and pay allegiance to the company for that....??? It doesn't make sense...what matter is the best product for you, regardless of who makes it... Besides, It is not only the sensor that makes Nikon picture quality (DR and Color bit) is good, but also Nikon software. Sony and Nikon are using the same sensors but Nikon's picture quality is better than Sony's I think.
Starting with Fuji, moving over to Nikon, than Canon for filming (Eos 550D) and 6D (photography) I jumped to the Panasonic FZ1000 for 4K video. I want to do more with video and it seems price-quality wise Panasonic is doing a good job here (true, Canon has 4K on their VERY pricey C100 and up but that's not something you want to carry around on a daily basis I guess). I really love the video quality on the FZ1000 and it has also a 24-400 mm Leica lens with great sharpness and image quality. I am saving up for the GH4 now and for that price it looks like I won't go back soon to Canon again (at least with the available financial space I have at this moment). Another brand that takes over a huge amount of Canon photographers/filmers is Sony with the A7s. The only reason I stay with Canon at this moment is the huge amount of money I did invest in Canon L-lenses. But that's it really. I want to fully upgrade to a 4k System camera and when the time's right, it will be Panasonic GH4 or when Sony jumps into similar MFT 4k camera's, maybe Sony.
Good job Im thinking to change from 5dmk3 to d810 what do you think? As it's sharper and its dynamic range is very good? The only thing i like about the canon is the colour of the skin when taking portrait photos, it gives that nice red touch to the photos.
Well it's performs way better for stills, and I believe it's on par with video. And you have to think about the companies as a whole too. Canon are slow and are lagging way behind the competition while Nikon is actually pushing themselves all the time. So if you're not already heavily invested in Canon glass it would be a good idea to switch imo.
abdullah alanizy Depends on what and where you are shooting but the D810 is an excellent beast of a camera and will give you some serious resolution. I do agree that Canon skin tones often look nicer to me too. It may just be that I am more used to the look.
M Coop Funny, sony sensors, but Nikon know how. Outsourced sensors to not a camera make. Nikon exceeds Sony DR and color depth cannot match Nikon. Your statement is pointless.
Hello! I am using Nikon D7000 for video and photography at weddings and other stuff. I am going to buy a new camera soon. I am between Nikon D750(1050€) and Nikon D7500(780€). Which you believe is better for video use? Right now i am not interesting for 4k video. Thank you.
I’ve been doing a ton of research and the D750 takes the cake! I have a D7500 and for the price I love it so much! Got dual zoom for $899. Great for sports action, portraits and everything you need. Does well in low light though not as well as D750. D750 is priced really well and hailed the king of event photography
Great review toby. But what about the price difference? is it worth if I buy the canon dm3 rather than nikon d750. I am planning to sell my gear and switch to FF.
should i go for a full frame body with extra money or i should go for crop senor body spending the extra money for the purpose of a great lens so that the crop body can pick the same coverage as the full frame one?
Nikon D750 great camera but I can't stand Nikon menu and ergonomics. You have to take your hand from zoom ring to adjust iso don't make any sense to me. And lens selection nikon have some better primes. But canon have some gems like 135 f2 L also canon 24-70 mkii and 70-200 mkii are better and sharper lenses so it's difficult choice.
Tomas Ramoska Another commenter helpfully suggested you can reassign the video record button as ISO switch but I agree that original placement is sub optimal. And yes those Canon lenses are lovely, lovely lenses - you forgot the 85 f/1.2 too :)
I do not for a moment think Canon makes better glass. And I would put Sigma art lenses against any L glass. But the funny thing is I find Nikon egomonics really intuitive.
PhotoRec Toby I have a 70-200 F4 that I dearly love. I am not a portrait person so for me zooms are less limiting. I do wildlife and landscapes. A lot of birds in flight. One surprising lens that I LOVE is the new Sigma sport 150-600 sport. its optically astounding for the price of 2K. Thats why broad brush stroke statements like some threads below completely ignore the application the photographer is looking for. Thanks for a great review. So much of gear is personal preference, and if you are good, you can get a good image with any camera. Cheers!
What would you recommend between Nikon 750, Canon 6D and Sony A7 ii for Portrait and Landscape? I have a Canon 600D(50mm f1.8, Tamron 17-50mm f2.8) and i want to buy a full frame camera. Thanks for answer :)
+aliae72 6D you get to keep using your 50mm , a7II is so nicely portable for travel, 750 is most well rounded camera of the bunch. What is most important to you?
+PhotoRec Toby it's not important how big is the camera. I'll be use it first for landscape and then for Portrait. I need more ISO performans and Dynamicrange. And I can use my Canon lens on the A7 ii with a adapter.
D750 is 840g (Approx. 840 g/1 lb 13.7 oz with battery and memory card but without body cap; approx. 750 g/1 lb 10.5 oz (camera body only)) You put D810 with battery and card and the D750 without them :D
You missed a couple of important point IMO on the video capabilities of the D750. First and foremost is the "flat profile" mode for video and second is the dedicated video menu. Also you should mention the onscreen menu for video and the fact that you can now change aperture and shutter speed while in live view. All these have been used as a detractor to Nikon video forever by Canon users so, I think it would be a more neutral review if these features were mentioned. Not just keep bitching about the grip or ergo on the Nikon. Nikon users, like myself, are accustomed to the button layout and I personally find them to be preferable to Canon products.
Hey Toby just have a question have a 2000 $ budget was wondering what kind of dslr to buy as my first dslr should I go and buy been looking at the 70d Canon but not sure if i should just hold off and save a little more and buy a full frame nikon 750 any advice on what direction I should go towards thanks again for all your videos appreciate them
Hello there, You are doing great.. it the best platform for beginners to learn. i have learned a lot from you. i would like to request you if u could please post a review on comparison of Nikon d750 and Canon 6D mark II, I am highly confounded in it... I'm upgrading my cam to full frame n my budget is under $2000
Can't decide between MKIII Or the D750. Both reducing in price because of newer models out or releasing soon (d760). I want it for general use sightseeing as well as wedding photography.
Both are excellent cameras. I really like the articulating screen of the Nikon along with wifi- neither honestly important to image quality but they make the camera a more versatile tool for general photography.
You're video samples are totally different from others i've seen where the D750 is much more closer than that. I am not sure what you may have done wrong or left on that these other guys didn't but none of them showed that much noise. I think you should've matched exposure not just settings.
Great review! Thank you a lot. Im thinking of buying a Nikon FX camera. I'm using a Fuji X100s atm but wanna switch to FX now. Problem is, i am really not sure wether to buy the D750 or the D610. In Switzerland the D610 costs about 1499$ Body only. The D750 costs 1899$. I'm a enthusiast and hobbyist and don't earn my living with photography. I'm thinking of starting to earn some money with photography though, but not talking semipro here. Maybe in 2 years or so. Oh and video is not so important to me. I never used it on other cameras and just am in to taking pictures. Videos are nice but not too important for me. What would you recommend? I'm really not sure. Thank you for your recommendation Greetings from Switzerland Nils
The main "real world" differences between these cameras would probably be autofocus performance and the articulating screen. In terms of IQ there is very little between them. What I would point out though is that if you put rubbish glass in front of a 24mp sensor the difference in camera bodies won't make much difference - so if buying the D610 allows you to get better glass it might be worth considering. Personally I'd say the extra functionality of the D750 is worth the extra money. Either would be sufficient to produce good enough results for paid work (with the right lenses). You might also want to consider a D7100. It is relatively noisy but MUCH cheaper, and again if you put nice FX glass in front of it you can produce outstanding results as well as future-proofing for body upgrades as your photographic skills improve. In real world terms: for the same price as a D750 body-only, you could pretty much buy a D7100 with a pro lens. If you are on a budget it's about where the best use of your investment is going to be - and most pros will tell you it's in the glass rather than the bodies.
James Willerton Thank you very much, James. D7100 is not an option for me because i really wanna switch to full frame. Won't put kit lenses on the FX cam. i'm considering to buy the 50mm 1.8 G or 1.4G for the FX Body. later i will buy a pro zoom but thats not an option right now. I had a Nikon d300s with a few lenses but unfortunately sold it for the fuji, which i love, but i should never have sold my dslr. The autofocus of fuji may be good not never on par with a dslr and the fix lens is just too limiting. I'd consider the higher price of the D750 but if the difference between this cam and the d610 is not too big. I won't shoot sports in low light for example i'd rather buy the d610. I shoot portraits and landscapes and most during traveling.
***** I have the 50mm 1.8G and it's a nice lens to use. I hear what you're saying about full frame: however your logic for considering the D610 against the D750 (bearing in mind your usage) also applies to the D7100 against the D610. Take a look at the Tokina 11-16mm DX reviews for your landscape work. For portraits I use either the 50mm (although it's a little wide), or the 70-300mm VR FX lens. If you have a limited budget, personally I'd be looking at getting the glass first (ideally FX-compatible) and compromising more on the body, where it will make less difference. If weight/size are also an issue, again the D7100 might score points against the full frames. Of course it is your decision to make, I just suspect sometimes people feel railroaded into "full frame" when their needs actually don't warrant it against the much cheaper DX bodies.
James Willerton Yeah i understand your point, james. Thing is i really like working with shallow depth of field and in low light. I heard that the d7100 is an amazing camera. I used the D300s a long time back then. So i know about the pros and cons of DX. Actually i think its time for a step up now so i guess FX is my choice. I will keep the Fuji as a great light croped sensor camera when low weight is important. I might go with the D750. Still a compromise compared to a D810 but thats just way too much for me. I also thought about the Fuji XT-1 but its way overpriced imho. With lens it costs nearly as much as the D750. And the D750 is just way ahead.
***** Well if you've got your heart set on full frame, I'd go back to what I said before, that the improvements in real-world usability probably make the D750 worth the extra. The ability to compose shots from low or high angle I think adds creative options, it's the best low-light performer (IQ and autofocus) and overall it's just a more rounded investment. You might be pleasantly surprised at just how much shadow detail these modern sensors in the Nikons can recover. Your lens choices might be more difficult than the camera body actually, to get you a working system again. I don't know what you had before with the D300s; however there are some decent budget options (such as the 70-300mm VR I mentioned). I'd be tempted to take a look at the 85mm 1.8G alongside the 50mm if you're looking for a portrait lens, or the 85mm Samyang 1.4 manual focus.
I have d750 and I hate it's never pin sharp in home without speed light another thing is when you put quite heavy lens plus flash gun you will get broken fingers, trust me Hand grip is too small, I consider to switch to d810 but the best will be canon 5dmk3 in same price what canon
Lucky! I want that camera so bad! What fx lenses you use/recommend? I already have a Tamron 70-200 f2.8 and it's an amazing lens! I also got the 50mm 1.8G.
I got the d750 now for almost a year and am very happy with it. I went to NYC with it, a pretty demanding trip with hours and hours of walking around with the camera. The grip is so good, even after 6 hours of holding it, it still feels safe and pleasant. The viewfinder is big and clear, the High-ISO performance is amazing, and the tilt-screen allows me to take photos from difficult perspectives. In my opinion this is an amazing camera.
I have the Nikkor 50mm 1.4g, the Nikkor 85mm 1.8g and the Nikkor 20mm 1.8g. These are amazing lenses for a reasonable price. I can really recommend them.
Still the D750 for photography. Better dynamic range. Better low light. Dual SD card slots. I like the screen that only tilts for photography. This is better for me for tripod work. Get the 6D if you want to use Canon lenses or if you really want a flip out screen or if you also do video. The 6D is a better "hybrid " camera, meaning both photography and video, because it is much better at video and continuous autofocus during video.
I agree! Canon should really step it up and build a sensor with at least a 14 EV dynamic range. I believe Canon glass is superior above Nikon (look at the Canon 70-200 f2.8 is ii) but Nikon makes superior camera bodies. If Canon releases a 6D ii, I will consider it and choose between that or the Nikon D750 as my first full frame.
@@5ups973 Hahaha, funny how you ask now. I'm actually thinking of selling it this month (D610). It's not very quick. It is slow to focus. The colors are beautiful though however, the D700 is a much better camera. It's quick, built like a tank and produces gorgeous colors. It's so amazing that I might actually get a 2nd D700, not kidding. I reccomend the D700 over the D610 by a long shot. Much cheaper too.
I have programed "video record" button for ISO, so no need to use two hands, press record button and turn command dial, it is all on the right side of the camera. When you switch to video mode, the record button behave as normal record button.
Please I need your help, I been wanting a dslr for many years now and this year I will get one. My budget is less than a thousand, and I want it for photography. Mainly for children, nature, food. I don't know if a Canon or Nikon, since I am starting I want something nice worth my money to start with. Thanks so much
how can the d750 provide such excellent images compared to the d500 when it has a low pass filter?....how can the d750 have such a better auto focusing system then the d500 when the d500 gets 3 times the keeper images in fast continuous mode?....Yes, i realize the d500 did not come on the market when you made this video, but my questions are important because this is what reviewers are saying today......
I hate the handles on most of the new cameras. Even my old D70 has a much nicer handle. the D810 is thicker, but could be a bit deeper. still, it is a lot more money just for a bigger handle. The d3S is nice, but seems like older technology for the used price.
Awesome video but I'm still not sure yet. I have a Nikon dx now and want to switch to FX and already thought about switching to Canon cause the 5D Mark III just sounds amazing. But your video kinda showed that the Nikon can do almost the same. What do you think? I mostly photograph portraits outside and will start shooting weddings, so also a lot low light situations.
+Mia Huber The 750 is a better value and I say this as someone that shoots weddings professionally with the 5DMarkIII. Get the 750, spend the savings on a nice prime lens from Sigma. I'd also be happy to help provide further help and guidance on gear and wedding photography.
Hi, thank you so much for your answer. Why don't you swith to Nikon? :) The only thing that holds me back, is that all my favourite photographers use Canon 5d MarkIII and I love this clear soft look.. :D What lenses would you suggest? I'm planning on buying 50mm and 85mm or 90mm. I already have a Sigma 30mm art 1.4 but I'm not sure If I can use it for FX. Thank you so much in advance.
Thank you for the nice review. As mentioned about new graphics on the wall, awesome! About different settings in Live view and OVF mode. Different setting for both modes for me are good, since i don't want to shoot video in aperture mode for example. I want video setting to stay put when i toggle between 2 modes. (specially shutter speed due the flickering issue, also WB and ISO) . For Example i use Aperture priority with ISO 3200 for stills and i want Video with Manual mode and Auto ISO and fixed WB. Also please add Highlight about ISO button remap to video. .
The 1/ 4000 th sec shutter speed still bums me out...remember, cheaper bodies like the D7000 series have 1/8000th sec ....it is a major handicap outdoors when you're using an f1.4 lens when your camera doesn't go beyond 1/4000th sec...
