For the proxy the already produce during raw recording, they should give possibility to copy it to the SD card. In this way, it would stop people complain about double card recording for video.

The reason some people having the likes of a Z9 would be interested in a z6iii, would be as a second body to use on a gimbal. The Z9 with a DJI RS2/3/4 pro, becomes very heavy after a little time. The Z6iii can just sit on the gimbal and ready to be used at any time. That z6iii on even the lighter non Pro Rs3/4 would be a killer combo for video shooters for events like wedding etc.

@@Mr09260 I would rather have an Af that can go -10 ev, only 6k so no gigantic files and have to hold my Z9 on a RS3 pro for my back. It also seems to be much more resistant to overheating, might even become my A cam.

I have a Z6ii. I've used it to shoot concerts and portraits as well as loads of other stuff. I absolutely love it, never had a problem. I think the Z6iii is going to appeal to video more than still photography. However nothing beats The D700.

Missed the live chat. But have just watch. Really good info thankyou 3 questions for my use case if anyone can answer? Q1. Have Nikon fixed bug where z6ii drive mode does not change when the mode dial is changed eg u1 single shot, u2 high burst ? Currently is 1 global setting on z6ii Q2 How does z6iii cope with dog eye tracking when it’s running towards you and jumping . Better than zf. On par with a canon r6? Q3 - when in interval timer raw shooting and enable 2nd function for simetaneous timeslapse. Can this now be done in 6k. Z6ii can do 4k

A bit? In central Europe it cost twice the old z6ii and 3 time the camera that's before (z5)... I can only wait the next z5 to upgrade

I'm interested in the data on any heat testing available with respect to video recording. Both the Z8 & the Z6iii share the same magnesium & Sereebo body, a carbon fiber reinforced material. In prior heat tests with the Z8 it got hot while the Z9 with its all Magnesium body could roll endlessly without a heat warning. Has anything been done to mitigate that in the Z6iii? I'm buying it with the idea that it's mostly for the video recording specs.

I NEED Good video. The ONLY Nikon Camera I ever sold was the Z 6 II which I got a LOT of out of focus shots. My Z 9 , Z 8 and Z f and EVEN the Z 50 has made the Z 6 II look terrible.

Question to the Community: Do the two "Base ISO" mean it is a triple conversion gain sensor (with the sweetspots at 100, 800 and 6400 ISO)?

It would be nice to see a high resolution, lower price option in the lineup at some point. The other major players have such options so why not Nikon? Yes, it will trade some features for the lower price but that’s the way it works with all brands. Also, it would be great to see a pro body with a fully stacked crop sensor with IBIS and all the rest at a reasonable price in Nikon’s lineup soon.

HUGE amount of interest from RACE photographers in a D 500 DX sensor Z camera and I use the Z 50 (always with the 50-250 lens) almost everyday. So either Z 50 II OR a Z 90!! FX is NOT always the right tool. I use my Z 9 and Z 8 MOST of the time on DX.

They should have made 2 versions like Fuji did with H2 / H2s… one with fewer bells & whistles for $2k. Idc about the best evf in the history of cameras, flippy screen, high end video features. Much rather have 33 megapixels. $2,500 bit of a stretch for this…

And you are lucky to live/buy in USA... in Europe it's price is 3000€ (3200$) it is 3 times a z5, 2 times a z6ii. I'ts even more than a z7...

With the apparently very bright view finder, is there no risk of underexposure as you misjudge exposure?

Of course. But the advantage of mirrorless is the wysiwyg. So I was just wondering if you could possibly misinterpret the exposure by bumping up the evf (ie that the photo is underexposed).

I think if you need the higher resolution for landscapes, you can just use Pixel shift on the Z6 III and get your higher resolution. If you need a faster high-res wildlife or sports camera, the Z8 is it. I don't see a Z7 III making much sense, especially if it won't sell well next to the Z6 III.

I'm still loving my Z7. I've never used the EVF so an upgraded EVF is no use to me. Love the flippy screen, I'll never do a selfie but as someone who doesn't limit my prospective to where can get my head I do struggle with the limitation of the Z7 screen angles.

Seems like you’ve not answered the DR question all that well. At least for video in N-log at the base 800 ISO the dynamic range (total usable stops) of the Z9 and the Z6III are essentially the same at least based on the prerelease firmware. For stills the noise levels at higher ISOs (6400 and above) should be less on the Z6III though no comparison testing has been done yet.

Even with a psychic shutter I will be passing HARD due to the flippy-outy screen (That has NO place on a prosumer camera) Also bummed the stayed at 24mp, Nikon is saturated with meh 24mp models

Expeed7 (10x Expeed6) capability should not be a argument to utilize the dual Expeed 6 capability of the Z6-II and Z7-II much better focus capability then the Z6 and Z7. Buyers of the Z6-II and Z7-II are mislead by Nikon. Lessons learned is that track record of the Z9 firmware improvements is unique for the Z9 and not applicable for Z5/Z6/Z6-II/Z7/Z7-II camera’s.

I've never really heard nikon promising much for the Z6ii. The Expeed 7 was new when the z9 launched, so they had ample room to fine tune it. I think z6 focus improvements are about done, even the Z6ii, doubling the processors, doesn't double the performance.

Yes it didn't bring much to the party, possibly they were wanting more performance before the Expeed 7was ready and trickled down from the z9. It's taken some time, to trickle down.

Why are we paying $1000 more for this than in the USA? UK price £2700 which is $3425 and the US price is $2500. We're getting ripped off and there is no other way to look at it. There is absolutely no excuse for it. $1000 is a hell of a lot of money.

@meesy498 I read somewhere that VAT is 29%. So a $2500USD = £2000. Multiply this by 1.29 ~£2600. Maybe shipping to UK is also more expensive than US. So add that and you are close to £2700.
