Agreed. For the price, it is very good value indeed. Remember, the Z lenses also contribute to the overall shooting experience

Would you compare this to the Nikon D780?

@@hishamosman4341 Maybe it's the D850 that I am interested in. That's the one that is kind of a hybrid of the Z6/7 bodies but in DSLR form?

@@WarriorsPhoto I have to let you know that yes, the D850 is a jack of all trades but AF for video is lacking. The D780 has the same video capabilities as the Z6. The D850 excels in photos, time lapse, long exposures and focus shift. Trust me...I had the D850 before. I traded that for the Z7II because it has the same 45 pixel count, 2 processors instead of 1, 2 card slots and best of all, the dedicated grip is USB C. You can charge it while shooting as well. I intend to get the D850 back later once the price goes down further coz I still have several F mount lens. To me the D850 will go down as one of Nikon's best DSLR to date, period! My only reason why I decided to switch to mirrorless is because of the Z lenses, which I must admit is far superior than their F mount counterparts. Whichever body you intend to get, be it D780 or D850, you'll have no regrets

Every metric is highly subjective and super focused on the particular area of application. For the most people Nikon Z7 II covers all their use cases and cost almost a $1000 less while delivering better image quality - this is what really matters.

It's easy to "poke" a pinhole in the camera cap. Challenge completed.

@@keensoundguy6637 You think a DSLR would work without a lens making contact with the body? I am guessing it would throw an error party.

Should’ve told that to Nikon when they were releasing the D600/610, 750, D4/D4s, D800/810/850 and people were switching left and right for a body. Now Sony does the same thing Nikon did back in the day and Nikon is feeling it lol. How else you think I got a D750/D810 both low shutter count for less than $1500.

@SF6 :) Panasonic is a rarity in my part of the world. Sigma, maybe the primes are good (have to try). S series Nikon glass definitely resolves much better than G series - that I can compare. Zeiss glass (Distagon T*) are the most epic I have owned

I moved from the D750 to the Z6II and love it. I use mostly adapted Sigma Art and Nikon 2.8G Zooms and a 1.4G prime ones. At the moment, even though the size difference is significant, I find that I prefer the adapted glass to the Z-primes (I have a 35 F1.8S and a 50 F1.8S) but this might be because I can’t overcome my mental block of not being able to get to F1.4🥴 If you are happy with the 24 MP files of the D750, you will love the Z6II as it is just as clean and beautiful but with a vastly superior AF system and the benefit of IBIS. The AF system is a bit of a learning curve and I found it a little hard to require my brain to it, but once I did, I was so very, very happy… oh yeah, I really only shoot photos and use my iPhone for video. Now, I was tempted by the Z7II and may still get one because I do wish I had more resolution for when I crop photos… primes are less flexible but a sharp F1.4 prime at 35 mm makes a great 50-58 mm F2.0ish picture too. I like that idea a lot.

@@gingrai00 does the z6 ii have a silent shutter? I need to upgrade but need silent shutter and heard mixed things about the "mechanical shutter"??? Thanks.

I use a 5DIV/5DS , D750/D810 for less than 3 grand. Bought the d750/810 off my bud not to long ago.

@@WarriorsPhoto I use the D810 more than my 5DS now because it’s more versatile in lower light but mostly portraits and studio work.

@Photo Bunny damn, good to know. If the A1 had better animal AF and a better LCD, that thing would be perfect. The R5 tho, it is perfect if one doesn’t shoot video. I was debating on buying the Z7 ii and the R5, but I chose the R5 for its autofocus. Still, I’d like a Z7 II just because I personally love Nikon and I think they have the best lenses out of all three.

That about sums it up. What system do you use?

@@WarriorsPhoto it’s versatile IMO. It doesn’t have the best of anything nor the worst of anything. For example the other day I was hiking with the R5, I could take pictures of landscape, people, and their dogs. If I had a Nikon I can only take landscape shots (basically no eye AF). If I had a Sony I can only take people shots (low res except for a7r4 and no animal Eye AF). Canon can do all three at the same time (high res, useable human *and* animal eye-af)

Aren’t you happy with your z7 II ?

Best selling professional camera body now with the Z9. They have had quite a turnaround.
