Nile might be the most talented death metal band I've ever heard. The guitarists are both great and their drummer, ...that guy is insane. I love the Egyptian theme they have. Awesome band.
I saw an interview where Dallas was talking about 'note pulse', he said that they pulse on the 8 instead of the 16 because its way more comfortable and tighter rhythmically. If you listen to them playing black seeds of vengeance in the video you can here this tapping sound, it counts in 4's, picking in 16th's that translates to an 8th note pulse, I've never heard anything as tight at that speed before these guys deserve more credit.
4:34 for "how about we give em a nile song? a nile song? yeah fuck the beginners.. yeah.. fuck the beginners? yes ok we'll play a nile song" *proceeds to melt faces*
I never liked death metal but I always had some type of appreciation to Nile and deicide. I'm really digging Nile right now. I'm in that process of falling in love with a new band (as new in my circle of loved bands) but what's scary and exciting is that it's the first death metal band I'm digging. It's scary!I'm starting to understand death Metal! Lol
I know this is very late but I hope you’ve enjoyed your journey. Nile is one of my faves so I hope you’ve had as much fun with all of their albums as the rest of us have
@@wyattfreihon4048😅 9 years old comment. Well Nile are definitely masters, I was also able to appreciate Cannibal corps. Right now I'm stoked about Kerry King. Deicide latest album is also sick, 🤘
Karl Sanders is the most awesome and the most talented musician ever. *Nile* is my *all-time favorite band forever.* LOADS OF RESPECT FROM YOUR TURKISH FANS! \m/\m/
i dont think anyone can alternate pick as fast as dallas but can anyone notice how karls alternate picking method is almost like minimizing the space between the pick and string between strokes. i love these guys nile is boss mother fuckers
@85Aheadstix I agree on the mysterious aspect of it. A lot of people complain about the clarity of Niles work but I think not being able to quickly decipher a bands songs adds to the mystery, otherworldleness. This performance for example: Some would say the strings are too loud or it sounds buried. To me it sounds authentic egyptian metal music. it sounds sand withered and the loud picking on the strings give of the sense of original egyptian instruments. It just takes imagination.
Karl's picking is probably the most efficient in the world. The dude's hand looks fucking stationary =)) But that said, there's still something charming and awesome about the inefficient picking that players like mustaine/hetfield do.
@@bangasou12 Well for starters Hetfield plays all downstrokes, that's about as inefficient as you can get. No one told him that the pick can also move in the other direction too lol. Neither one of them uses economy picking, so that's not very efficient either.
@@jsullivan2112 if hetfield plays only downstrokes then go ahead and try playing disposable heroes only with downstrokes.... I think it's stupid to compare hetfield to a death metal guitar player as metallica's riffs were written with 8th notes downstrokes into mind and most death metal is written with riffs with fast 16th notes that would be impossible without alternate picking. Master of Puppets, creeping death and other metallica songs wouldn't sound as heavy as they do with alternate picking...
@@FutureBreed13 I didn't say anywhere that it's bad. But it's not efficient. That was the question at hand. You do know what efficient means, right? Or do you want me to send you a dictionary for your next birthday?
@@jsullivan2112 where did i mention that you said it was bad? You said that no one told hetfield that the pick can go the other way (up) and i told you to try and play disposable heroes only with downstrokes then. You also said he is inefficient because he plays only downstrokes and i told you that the riffs mop and creeping death would sound much weaker with alternate picking, that's why they are played with downpicking because they sound much heavier that way.
@ABBIB666 there is no economy picking at all, both exercises they show use straight alternate picking... i guess you were referring to karl's exercise: it's just the amount of notes on the top string that makes the picking direction turn around when going back down
It s been a long time I listen to Nile and my theory is: maybe Karl and Dallas are the most bored musicians in the whole world. Maybe the next album they would record in Tuthan khamon 's tomb XDD
these guys are pretty good players, but you can barely hear what the hell is going on because the tone is so horrific & awful, and luckily their records sound a lot better than this but even then they can improve their sound and guitar tones by leaps and bounds, regardless when it comes to death metal i love nile
