Dang, don't you just love to watch Nile play his guitar. You can tell he is really enjoying it even after all the many times he must have played this song after he composed it. A true legend really. The Lord gave him a gift for music. Thanks for sharing it with the rest of us fans.
What a live band, man.....was i lucky to have lived back then when, all the festivals, the fun, the girls and the good times, we've been family, so lost in music...thank you for all that Nile!
I know it's an awful thing to say but as good as the new bassist is and he is superb, he just isn't Bernard Edwards. The man was musical giant with a unique time and feel for Chic's music.
Edwards was more than a "feel" for Chic music, he was a big part of the creation of it. Edwards & Barnes are two different types of bassist, both damn good. Edwards was more serious, Barnes is a little more fun loving, but also serious with his music.
Jerry Barnes does not even attempt to play Everybody Dance intro while previous Chic bass player Barry Johnson did it. If you are supo used to be a prof bass player and you re in Chic you Must do it.
Bernard Edwards was the best and always will be, let's be glad that Chic somehow managed to still bring these songs to us. It apparently was a difficult decision for Nile Rodgers.
