After surviving a live electrical wire falling on the tour bus, the guys find out David Crosby was going to pull a prank on them, until he found out how nice they were.
As a fan of nin going on 34+ years I have to say these video's are some of the coolest things I've gotten to enjoy. Please continue with more, I miss the 90s so much :(
My wife was laughing at me the other day bc I randomly pulled out my Downward Spiral Tour hat and wore it around. Now so old, it has to have tape on the back. LoL
I grew up on CSN& Y & am going on 33 years an NIN fan ( I became a fan at 16). At 15 years old I didn't think I'd live to see 20... so even on a bad day it's all borrowed time from the gravy ⛵ boat...thanks Trent ❤
I've seen hundreds of bands live in the past 40 years...and Nails hands down puts on the most amazing shows. They bring their music to life in a way most bands don't.
Yes, the 90s were today and I wish I could have been the C9 inch now's anyhow. Thanks for the video and thanks for sharing your comments and i'm in florida
Man, this so cool. Crosby hanging around a young NIN. CSN may be a bit folky but Crosby lived every part of a rock and roll lifestyle, can’t discount him, he’s like an old war veteran.
Thanks Loretta - yes I have been unsure if this would be of interest to anyone but my family, so it makes me very happy that other people find value in the clips. Good to hear from you!
@@katevanburen This is literally the greatest thing ive ever seen as fsar as music and music lore goes. I've heard the band talking about most of these moments. this is the deepest rock n roll history. Imagine all the artists who are gone and which of them we would crap our pants to be able to see candidly at legendary moments in their life. What Id really love any soundcheck, studio recording, guitars, Billy Howerdell stuff. The tech stuff and the band working.
This was so awesome to see! So cool to see the guys so young and humorous!! I can’t wait for the 30th anniversary of the woodstock! I just got into this band last year and the woodstock video was my first Nine Inch Nails everything! I fell in love ever sinces and checked out all their albums. Big fan and daily obsessed I love it!!!
This is a historic gem. Thank you so much for sharing. I was 14 in 1994 and this band meant so much to me at the time. Please continue to post whatever else you have. So so cool. RIP James and David
@@katevanburenDavid Crosby was 53 the day this was recorded, his birthday was actually the next day on August 14th. James was 27 here. The world was in a much better place back then in my opinion.
I'm born in 77. My Dad born in 48. He was 21 in 69... I was 21 in 98... I was at Woodstock 94... NIN one tp5 fav bands. CSNY is my Dad's 2nd fav.. My tp30.(CSNY)
Discovered NIN when I was almost 13 (2008), they were my first concert experience and are my favorite band ever... Watching this plethora of footage you've dug up is really bringing me back to the excitement of my youth. Thank you Kate!
I was there and remember having to wait for CSN like 2 hour set before Nails and then had to wait for the really long set change and system tuning before Nails cam on and destroyed it.
Yes, I remember that show wish I could have been there, but thank you for the video awesome. Cool about 9 inch thanks happened. Look at nobody got hurt, but they Say on with a show and no thanks for the video and i'm in florida
That's the same year I met Peter. I was interviewing Eddie Jackson from Queensryche at catering when my wallet had fallen from my back pocket and was lying in the grass. Peter sat down behind us and I heard, in his deep voice... "You dropped your wallet." with a slow METAL cadence. It was awesome. I said, THANK YOU! In the most rock GOD fashion I could muster.OOPS I just realized that was NOT TYPE O LOL. I'm dumb
I do not believe I have footage from those shows, but I certainly heard the stories! I will take a look through some earlier tapes to see if I can find anything.
OMG I can't get over seeing Jerry Meltzer as young as he is here. I had absolutely no idea that Jerry worked for NIN. I've only ever known him working for U2, which ironically is the shirt that he is wearing in this video. He's always treated us well as fans. I remember asking him once if he could snag a setlist for me at a show that was on my birthday. I was half joking as I didn't think he would actually do it. He found me after the show and handed it to me and said just to keep it quiet so others wouldn't ask him for one. Does anyone know if he still works for NIN at all?
He specifically told people not to be in his face with the camera. Unless I'm mistaken. It's my understanding that he was incredibly professional about his image.
People always talk about the Original Woodstock or the infamously disaster that was Woodstock '99, but THIS was OUR (Generation X) Woodstock! NIN and The Green Day mud fight were the moments that defined a Generation separate from the Baby Boomers!
I completely forgot about this incident until you reminded me - when I watched the video again, I realized JW was able to capture an image of the burnt power cable. Woodstock 94 could have been a horrific moment in time instead of iconic. So glad the guys were safe.
Great to hear that infectious Crosby laugh once again. Gerry Tolman (RIP) at 2:37 (white tee shirt) and Mrs Crosby at 2:53 (denim top). “Get the fxxx off the buses!” NIN & Croz could have ripped a barnstorming ‘Long Time Gone’. What mighta been. ❤❤
I always knew.. Im fr Early-mid 1990s. I only liked few 60s bands.. Velvet Underground, MC5, CSNY,The Doors, The Stooges, CCR, Dylan, Hendrix. (BASICALLY, imo? Oh the AMERICAN 60s bands were most original sounding/fresh sounding & free from pretentiousness. )
