I love how this was crafted. Violet’s nuanced vocals easily express the swirl of emotions of the narrator from pleas for help to aggressive demands, all desperate. The band is really rocking. Violet’s vocalizations towards the end seal the deal connecting the emotion to the music until the end of the song. This gives a different feel to the song than NiN’s. There the vocals stop and the band continues alone for an extended time. While NiN’s outré is technically excellent and really interesting, it doesn’t carry much emotion and suggests continued alienation. The ending here suggests the possibility of catharsis and healing, plus it’s a headbanger. Awesome work.
I might like this version more than the original... I love the video, I love how FUNKY this version is, and I love how emotional your voice is. It's almost kind of manic. Instant favorite.
@@KeithElliott-zd8cx I'm not the OP but I think most people would assume that suggesting a song with the lyrics "I wanna fuck you like an animal" is appropriate for a wedding would be a sarcastic suggestion. Sure, I get that some people might think it's just a raunchy sex song and not think deeply about the loneliness and darkness behind it, but I don't think that's the same as a love song
@@KeithElliott-zd8cxmusic like poetry and any other form of art is subjective to interpretation. It may not have been meant to be a love song originally. It probably wasn't. But if two people feel this is their love song than who are we to say otherwise? That was their interpretation of a great piece of art.
Closer is so incredibly hard to nail as a cover. This is really good! I'm also impressed with your taste in music! Looking through your videos I stumbled over Glory Box, Bullet with Butterfly Wings and a few other songs I thought forgotten by everyone but maybe myself nowadays! Awesome choices and great covers!
this is the best thing I've heard from you so far, your voice has that raspy sound you always seem to lack, and the band, they really ROCK! plus, the best part is that the video is not beaty centered, I mean, this is not your pretty face with perfect eyes and smile looking at the camera and making those hot expressions all the time; whoever directed this, THIS IS THE GUY (posting the patreon list is such a lame thing to do, but you'll do better next time )
Love the video Violet and the band. I had no idea that Ricardo sang. Very cool. Thanks y'all for sharing this video with us. May y'all have a good one. Have fun take care. Most Importantly Happy Birthday Violet
It’s good that you are evolving as an artist but I really miss the old Violet covers from 2-3 years ago, just Violet alone in her room killing it! Would love to see those again mixed in, even once or twice a month 🙏
Yeah this, where she recorded backup vocals and multiple instruments, playing every part in a band. It was really creative and she had her own sound. Aside from a few covers lately, she's sounding more like "just another grunge chick" cover. It's when she started doing collabs the quality declined. Some are better than the original. Wonderwall was hard to listen to until she did it.
Impressive, simply impressive! One of your best song ever, strong performance, band's look "terrifying", fantastic job guys, Violet you absolutely killing it❤
Was hoping to see you with those big black glasses on with a leaf blower in your face but this surfaces too! 😅 Great cover as always, and knowing Trent, I wouldn’t be surprised if he saw this,
@VioletOrlandi I am so obsessed with this cover OMFG! You should totally cover NIN Hand that Feeds! OMFG that would be killer! I am glad you are back with the videos, cause I missed them! This is fucking awesome!
As a NIN fan I was a bit afraid to listen because not all covers are good covers, but.. well done. Really well done. I especially like the sliiight similarity to the video style of the original. Nice touch. Great work :)
I think my favorite horror movie wasn't really graphic or anything, They(2002). The whole movie I remember just trying to decide if what the main character is experiencing was in their head or reality. It left me wondering that right up to the last few seconds of the movie, and the final shot is just the stuff of nightmares.
WHAT have you DONE?!?! the funk spin - the vibe shift - the theatrics - the costumes - once again you have improved on the original. this is your song now
