This small but beautiful stone circle in Derbyshire called Nine Ladies is located within a grand Bronze Age Cemetery. Made of millstone grit, none of the stones are over three feet tall. To the south-west the Fiddlers Stone (or King Stone) acts as an outlier, but has been moved several times. The circle may have in fact have had ten stones, as a recumbent monolith was recently discovered near the main circle. The low stone circle is set in he beautiful Peak District and Druids and pagans celebrate summer solstice there. Includes aerial quadcopter footage. Get Hugh's new book on Stone Circles here: a.co/5GlgDqk (US Amazon) and here amzn.eu/2928Sdx (UK Amazon).

Thank you for posting this. The nine ladies are such a beautiful place with such a calm and beautiful energy. Not far away from the stone circle is also a well with very tasty springwater. About 10 min away from the nine lady's is another little stone circle which could easily fit into a living room. I would like to thank the protesters that protected the site for many many years ( about roughly 10 years) so that the quarry could not go ahead. They did build tree houses and fantastic little buildings where they would live. It was like a small lke minded small international community. Many people from the outside would bring them food and items they needed in that time. It was not easy to live there , but without all the people which helped to protect the site we would not be able to enjoy the nine ladies today .

Bodies In The Trees is back online. I've just posted the whole thing. Grab it and download it before it gets taken down again. It's the true crime podcast about the bodies that went missing up on stanton moor

Wow, that was one hell of a drone shot. I only live about fifteen miles away from this circle, which I've visited a few times, but not for many years. I've recently been thinking about visiting it again, so this video will add a little extra inspiration to visit. Arbour Low stone circle (and barrow) is not too far away and is a little more impressive but none of the stones are standing. I think the Nine Ladies circle is in a rather cosier setting too. Arbour Low is in an open area, mostly devoid of surrounding trees. I've only recently come across your channel and have enjoyed your videos. Full of great information. Looking forward to learning more. Cheers... :-)

Can you remember all the trees hiding the king stone, I experienced some paranormal things there was a odd night that was back then,I would love to know what it was, I like bringing people together no matter what there beliefs, that night was no exception, works nice for everyone concerned ❤

Been to this monument. Its quite impressive, and oddly enough, somewhat unsettling.

One of my regular haunts, can walk there from my house! The spiral carving is indeed new, it is more recent than the 'Pot Head Pixie' carving nearby which was done within the last 10 years. It is thought this circle was an embanked one, like the reconstructed Barbrook 2.

I visited in1990s, it's on a mysterious plateau strewn with tombs and who knows what as I recall. The Nine Ladies were bricked in by a low brick wall which has thankfully been removed. It wouldn't have stopped idiots carving the stones and I'm glad that our ancient sites are better appreciated today.

Shoshaye Walker - "nine ladies close" is the nearest circle to it... and if you go there for the full moon closest to the summer solstice, the moon will set itself onto the plateau of the stride between the pillars, as if on an altar in sacrifice. Very special time at a very special place - Buwate dewi ac swos.
