Should I start doing the exercise on the right or left side always? Some Lamas advise women to start on the left side. as far as I understand, the right and left hemispheres of the brain are responsible for the corresponding things, regardless of gender. However, I do not know about Ida and pingala. where can I find this information? Thanks
Thank you Rinpoche for this video. As a practitioner of Yoga I just want to comment on four things. 1. Posture in which the practice is done is very important. In Padmasan or the lotus posture,by keeping the feet on both thighs what the yogi does is he/she blocks the left and right channel of breath by pressing on his thighs tightly and blocking the nerves so that the prana energy which rises is diverted into the middle channel called sushumna or avadhuti. In any other normal seated posture like sitting on chair, this process gets tremendously slowed down. Padmasan or lotus posture also locks the body in such a way that when that energy rises and shakes the whole body of practitioner, the practitioner does not get disbalanced. 2. Any breathing exercises must not disturb the natural flow of breath. This is very crucial but not followed anywhere. One must start taking in breath consciously or taking out breath consciously only in between the pauses that occur in natural breathing process otherwise the practitioner will damage their body. 3. There is not much use of imagination. Once the practice is done correctly and the body and as mind of practitioner become clearer, the energy channels will gradually open up and there will be no space for imagination. 4. The practice is useless and can even prove counterproductive if correct diet plan is not followed by the practitioner. All kind of acidic foods must be avoided or else the energy will damage the practitioner. Regards..,🙏🙏
IK some teachers say otherwise, but pure Tibetan lineage teaches the left channel is white, the right channel is red, and on the outside the central channel is pale blue in colour.
