It's just dawned on me. Yoshiaki Koizumi, host of these Nintendo Directs, was the one behind the whole story of the original Link's Awakening. That was his first major dream project after he joined Nintendo. In essence, the end of this Direct brought back to light his own first masterpiece, 25 years after its birth. I can only imagine what his inner thoughts and feelings were with this one. Also omg the Ballad of the Wind Fish actually sung out, it's beautiful!

Oh yeah, that's right, he was... well, judging from the cute new art style, it's gonna be good. I played the original when I first got my 2DS and it's stuck with me ever since. Almost replayed it a while back, but got derailed with other games. Guess it's a good thing, because my second playthrough can be with this new version instead.

Yeah, it were like the last really desirable Wii U port that weren't coming... Until now! Is there anything left now? Were Mario 3D Land for the Wii U? If so that is the last one I can recall... And i dunno but the addition of 3D land in Mario maker 2 and slight focus on it might mean they're doing that too. But it could very well just be because it's the newest addition and added to just have a new style added and thought that one were the best fit.
