Great video, provided all kinds of information that wasn't previously available. it is incredibly sad how nintendo has actively tried to destroy any external support for competitive communities, something definitely needs to change and move into the new decade of gaming with them as a company. Keep up the awesome and detailed work man!

So it's not just Smash. Huh, my original thought was that Nintendo just didn't like how much the Smash community has changed, or the toxicity from Twitter. But now idk what to think. Thanks for the video, it really helped me.

You're welcome! I was definitely in the same boat as you until I started talking to members of other communities and that really opened my eyes. Hopefully Nintendo changes for the better one day

Honestly I can't blame them for doing this. They know how the smash community is toxic filled with spolied brats who even has the guts to send death threats for the character they wanted and sexual predators. Compare to other gaming community it's can be toxic but some of them are gladly to stop the toxicity but Nintendo is a different story they rather KILL it rather than fix it. I agree with your comment but what can people do against a endless money company that has the power to do what they want?

Unfortunately, I don't think we'll probably get another Sonic rep at this point but if we do it'll probably be Tails or Eggman since Knuckles and Shadow are already assist trophies

@@DrAndy176 They're equals to me. If Tails is there, it's because they wanted a character who was easier to implement. If it's Eggman, it's because of themes of Hero vs Villian.

Nintendo actively hates the Super Mario Maker community as well, and you see that when you watch Ceave’s recent videos. Yeah once the spotlight was shown on Nintendo after what they were doing to the Smash community other communities started coming forward :( we already knew they were backwards in how they treated their fans but it was honestly a lot worse than I thought. Thanks for watching!

SPREAD THE MESSAGE!!!!! Yeah, I feel like the way Nintendo treated their fans was pretty easy to see for a while now. I only fairly recently actually got into Nintendo (I played a few mario games, my favorite was Bowser's inside story, but otherwise I was all Namco), so I honestly saw how little Nintendo did for smash and other fanbases. At the end of the day, Nintendo wants money, and lots of it. You either need to convince Nintendo that the competitive scenes are more profitable when supported, or somehow convince Nintendo that the casual fanbases won't be spooked to play the game. Or Boycott them. But good luck with that last part.

I think it needs to be a case of both for your last sentiment about how the competitive scenes actually increases sales and doesn't hurt casual interest, but that's easier said than done. Nintendo has been behind the rest of the top video game companies in terms of progressiveness unfortunately. Like you said, all we can do is keep spreading the message and hope we get through to them eventually!
