For those who are confused about Super Mario Galaxy which is a Wii game being inserted into a GameCube, that’s actually a GameCube model that supports full sized discs which are pretty rare compared to the normal GameCubes. I was confused when I saw this until I found out about the full sized disc GameCube.
Me: *turning on gamecube without connecting the game boy player* Gamecube: *what in the hot crispy Kentucky fried fuck is this shit* Gamecube .5 seconds later: *stroke noises*
There's actually a secret error I've found while doing BIOS corruptions. "The data may not have been moved/copied/erased." - Most likely happens when the memory card dies on you.
It's worth mentioning that the "System settings have been lost" error occurs when you've unplugged the controller port's circuit board from the rest of the system (after physically opening it up, of course). This is because the battery on that board powers the system clock, which keeps track of the date and time even when the system is off; disconnecting it from the rest of the console means the console's motherboard loses track of what the time was (as it had no power to continue keeping track).
@@TibiGamer3DS Yes. Unfortunately, on the PS3/PS4/PS5, this battery had been weaponized to enforce DRM for digital, and in the case of PS4/PS5, physical games.
@@lucasn0tch If it helps, that issue has been fixed with a software update, which thankfully will also definitely be floating around online somewhere to be able to install on a console offline years later when their WiFi hardware can no longer connect to a regular WiFi network (think the DS not being able to connect to any network with a password today)
@@TheDoctor50 One of my acquaintances said that "Sony did not deserve your applause" when they kept the PS3 and Vita stores open, but I echoed that message last summer when Sony patched the CMOS DRM. It's not as bad as Micro$oft's DRM though.
Today I saw a late 90s yellow Mitsubishi Mirage in public and the guy driving it was blasting his bass boosted music super loud to the point where it was distorting, and I immediately thought of you BK4.
OMG DO I REALLY HAVE TO EXPLAIN IT TO YOU GT2000 = GT3 A-spec They changed the name later because it would make the game dated like in a year just like sports games Like have You even played Gran Turismo series of games anyways? These are essential info for a sim racer.
3:13 Nintendo: Let's smash this piano to make a loud and traumatizing noise to scare kids Creator of the error: let's put that random piano sound on the new error I make! Nintendo: yes! That's a great idea!
To everyone complaining about these, He's talking about a CMOS Battery, every electronic device (possibly not phones and smartwatches) have them, they keep the system chips powered when the console doesn't recieve power, without them, you would have to put your settings in everytime
Game Boy Player error is actually from the boot disc itself. The firmware for the GameCube is what's called an IPL or Initial Program Loader. Its only purpose is to (a) provide a pre-boot menu to adjust console NVRAM settings and manage memory cards, and (b) to validate and boot the disc that is in the drive. Once the disc is booted the firmware relinquishes all hardware control to the game itself.
At 2:12, this error can also happen if there is no DVD drive installed in the GameCube, or in the case of the GCLoader (and clones), it could mean a faulty SD card extender (people use them a lot). At 2:35, this error can also happen if you disconnect the controller board, which contains the battery to keep the time. This is especially important in games like Animal Crossing. And if you select No on that error screen, you will still be sent to the main menu. The Game Boy Player error can also be recreated on a Wii.

2 remarks: 0:48 The error #004 occurs when you run the BannerBomb Homebrew exploit, version 1.0 on system version 4.3. It's like easy to get. To fix, you can delete the Homebrew exploit from the SD card. 2:40 That error not only occurs when the system settings are corrupted. That error also occurs when the GameCube internal battery runs out. It saves the settings on that battery, like on old cartidges. Hope this helps!
3:10 I remember that happened to me as a kid and I just bolted out of the room bawling, all because I accidentaly unplugged the controller I didn't touch the gamecube for another 2 years
let me explain: Error #004 (system corruption) is caused by the Bannerbomb homebrew exploit on an SD card with the newest system menu version. if you access the SD with Bannerbomb on there on the latest system menu version, it displays that. but if you were on the version originally used for bannerbomb it’d display as normal
vinmannie hmm...I've never gotten one like that in my home brew Wii, the only error I've gotten (constantly) is the fifth error on his video (aka Nintendo earrape)
Do maybe the Nintendo DS Lite next? I know there’s a error that happens when u take out the DS card while playing the game, it’s like a black screen with a error message
Nintendo DS has a RSoD called "Guru Meditation Error". It also happens on 3DS' DSi Mode. You may find some photos online, but seens super rare. I got this one time while using a homebrew app called DSi Menu++ on my 3DS, later i discovered it was a error from the original NDS. Seens to be a major system crash.
There was a wierd bug on Sonic Rush where if you were on Dead Line and took the cartridge out the game would freeze, but the music would continue to play.
Thanks! I am now very aware of the GCN errors and I know how to fix them! I’m becoming a console collector so you are being a gigantic help! Good luck for the future, have a nice day if you are reading this!
3:13 When I was little, I thought I plugged in my Game Boy Player correctly to the bottom of my GameCube, but then, this error scared the living heck out of me!
For number 2 (An error has Occured) There are actually 3 different ways to get the error. The first two (obviously) are correct. The third way is if the fan in your Nintendo Gamecube is either not present(for some odd reason) or it’s broken. If you do somehow manage to miss that error, it will give you the disc error
I was casting this video to my TV(watching on TV) and it was set at full volume. Imagine the loud crash sound in the end. Q:How did you lose your hearing??? Ans:By listening to this video...
Do note that the Game Boy Player is actually not driven by the firmware. The system doesn't touch it until the Game Boy Player game disc tells it to, in software. In other words, it would be more apt to say that the relevant error happens when you try to run the Game Boy Player when it isn't properly connected.
For a pretty kid-friendly console considering the intro combinations and stuff, I did not expect to hear Nintendo use such a creepy Gameboy Player Error... Jeez...
1:57 I remember getting this error everytime I try to play Super Mario Sunshine because the disc is so badly scratched that it does start the game for a few seconds but while showing the cutscene, it can't recognise it any more which stresses the console causing it to crash. So I had to buy a new copy of SMS and I cut the old one in half for my entertainment and to release my anger. Good thing the GameCube uses memory cards to store data ;)
The error on 1:56 reminds me of the "There's a problem with the disc you are using" message on the Original Xbox. Just like the Original Xbox, Nintendo required its games to constantly check for the disc in the drive; if the disc is missing, dirty or dameged, the game would then tell the user that the disc couldn't be read (message looks similar to other game messages with no OK button). This would especially occur if a game would take more than one minute to load.
3:14 “Your gamecube is not connected. Until you reconnect it, we will play a sound that will stop you from sleeping and give you nightmares for 2 years.”
I remember my copy of Mario Party 5, always had a hard time loading up, often getting an error upon boot, as well as with the memory card (only for MP5 tho). There was this mode, I remember so clearly to this day, that would, if selected, crash the game after attempting to loaded. Itbwas the one with the star that had ribbons and stuff, I think. After a while, it just became the "Locked Mode" to me and my mom. After a bit of time, getting a Wii, Mario Party 8 had come out, and we were playinh that instead of 5 or 7 (MP7 just didn't work lmao. Except for the one time it did, when we got the Wii). I wanted to play 5 again after while of playing 8, of which, I did. Turned out, all those times of me trying to play the Locked Mode had toll on the disc, and it would no longer work. At all. GameCube and everything. I mean, the GameCube worked, it just wouldn't load games. I don't know why I wrote this, but I did. May this comment, and my GameCube forever rest in peace...
