Repeat after me: If a digital purchase isn't ownership, then piracy isn't theft. Ef Ubisoft, ef Nintendo. Also a non-issue since emulators have been available on Android for years.
piracy never is/was considered theft. it’s a different crime altogether. piracy is defined as the unauthorized reproduction of copyrighted/trademarked goods/product. i think where the misconception with theft comes from is the old definition of piracy where robbery/other illegal actions happen at sea.
Thats why people pirate. Old Nintendo games are never legally available for purchase and it's the only way to play them. Especally those rare and expensive titles.
@@keeganmcfarland7507 I’m not sure my main issue is that you can’t even buy any of these games at all and you have no choice but to pay for the online service if you want to play these games. Which makes this whole thing a bit scummy.
Now THIS could be fascinating. You have two companies with *a lot* in common when it comes to corporate tone: - Both exist in their own respective bubbles, pretty much ignoring the vast majority of standards set in their respective industries. - Both are super over-controlling of their platforms and software ecosystems - Both have a history of engaging in lawsuits over use of patents and intellectual properties. And now the potential exists for both companies to clash together. I love this.
@@Adamtendo_player_1 Yeah man, honestly, I don't understand that at all. I have to be able to respect what a company does for them to earn my time and money. I used to like Nintendo, and frankly, I still enjoy their games. But they have horrible business ethics that I just can't bring myself to support. If I get a Switch 2, it's going to be via eBay used (and that's a big "if" too, because I really don't like the Switch as a console/piece of hardware :/ ).
@@Matrix803 Nintendo isn't really that terrible anymore, but the problem about the negativity is when people blame them as a whole they drag in Shigeru Miyamoto, Sakurai and The other development leaders considering The fact they have absolutely nothing to do with the DMCA legal team in Japan that makes those decisions. For what's worse is the toxic PC pirates will tend to harass and insult anyone for owning a switch and enjoying games on switch hardware
Apparently copyright laws dictate that anything companies make is protected between 90-120 years before it becomes public domain. This either needs to be revised, or a clause needs to be added for video games from obsolete platforms.
Looks like it's time for gamers to stop buying remakes/remasters of retro triple AAA games (including the Nintendo ones) and instead, start buying indie games and AA games.
@@keeganmcfarland7507 there is nothing wrong with remakes and remastered. It’s one of the reasons why I told Nintendo over Sony and Microsoft and why I will likely stay with Nintendo. I’d rather buy remakes a remastered of Nintendo games that anything from both Sony and Microsoft.
@@Adamtendo_player_1imo remakes are fine, but remasters are scummy, Remasters literally only exist because console makers don’t let their users change the settings of their games. Like, you wouldn’t need a paid 60 fps upgrade patch for Ghost of Tsushima on PS5 if you could simply increase the fps limit in the settings. If consoles prioritized backwards compatibility, and let you change the settings like on PC, remasters wouldn’t even exist.
Steal the money they are not making because they are not selling those games. Just renting a portion of them in service that is 50$/year when most of us have interest in just a couple of those games per year.
@Infernal_Crusaderno one cares what thief’s care about. I cheer every time people get sued into the ground. Piracy will be the death to physical media, who I will remind you Nintendo is the last one who still has physical media. If piracy was actually about game preservation why is there exactly 0 emulation of the all digital consoles? I’ll tell you, they can’t. It’s physically impossible to pirate a ps5 and always will be. So when you pirate physical media all you guarantee is the end of physical media. Mark my words it ends soon, and it’s your fault
@@enrique9925yes they are. They sold the rights to consumers. Now the consumers sell the rights in after market. Why buy physical games if they are worth nothing? So you think it’s okay to steal a car from 2001 because ford isn’t themselves selling it? If all cars get stolen no one buys a new car and car manufacturing dies. Games are no different
nintendo just needs to come up with their own paid emulator and allow gamers to purchase their old games off the eshop, and as an adult gamer, i'd gladly pay for it can never understand why it's so difficult for them to do that when they are such a big company
Emulating DS & 3DS games would require a dual screen where the bottom is a touch screen. I suppose they could release a special dual screen accessory for the switch. But the next console will probably be announced within the year so they might as well just wait until then anyways.
The reason the performance is good is because Delta by itself is only able to emulate GBA, everything else you see there is actually other popular open source emulators running under a fancy UI.
If Nintendo had just been pro consumer and given us a better version of the eShop(with music), where we can buy various old nes, snes, sega Genesis, Sega CD, sega Master system, Gameboy, Gameboy color, GBA and more consoles instead of the scummy nso(And to keep our digital purchases), then none of this wouldn't have happened. There would be no need to Pirate if they just give us what we want, but they constantly fumble the bag because of greed, and then get mad when we emulate their legacy games and mod their consoles. You did this to yourself Nintendo.
@@thelastdragon5551oh yeah, people who want to pay for products are *the worst* and so entitled. If supply doesn’t meet demand, consumers find other ways. This has been the case since the dawn of time lol, do you think those who bought alcohol illegally during prohibition were also “entitled”? Even though they would pay for it legally in a heartbeat, but were simply unable to do so?
@@Adamtendo_player_1Idk, while they’re all pretty terrible at least Microsoft, and to a lesser extent Sony, make their games accessible to tons of people, even outside of their console base. Both have also been pretty good about backwards compatibility, and reasonable prices for older titles, whereas Nintendo decided to charge full price for old WiiU ports. Microsoft and Sony also aren’t nearly as trigger happy when it comes to taking legal action. Nintendo straight up destroyed a mans life for making modding tools for the switch, and the number of fan games that Nintendo has stomped out has to be in the dozens by now.
This is the emulator by the Altstore team that was a thorn in Apple's side forever. I would have guessed that Apple would have stopped them first but I guess pressure from Epic and the EU forced Apple to allow other stores.
People keep talking about NSO and emulators as if they’re separate things… Nintendo Switch Online IS an Emulator. Nintendo probably doesn’t want to call it that so it’s easier to demonize unofficial ones, but that’s exactly what Nintendo Switch Online is. It’s a collection of “official” emulators made by Nintendo. And unofficial emulators are not illegal, despite Nintendo’s attempts to paint it that way. Game piracy is illegal, not emulation.
Oh please dont act all innocent and all. you know very well most people do it because they dont wana buy the game lol. sure you can try to make a argument about retro games but there is absolutely no justification for a Nintendo switch emulator whitch is still a recent console. because most people who emulatate use roms and if its not your own then its illegal most people mindset is "I want it so I have the right to obtain it by whatever means necessary" and thats whats called stealing.
@@Space97. This wasn’t a justification. It’s a statement of fact. There’s only one way to emulate legally. You dump your own cartridges and play them in an emulator, just like you used to rip CDs to use on your MP3 player. But I guess MP3 players are illegal just like emulators, my bad. * cough * Piracy and emulation are separate things. That literally all I’m pointing out.
@@Cyko..I’ll respond to you here too. No, Valve isn’t worth a trillion dollars lmao. It’s worth like 7 billion. And if you don’t know the astronomical difference between those two figures, you probably should’ve stayed in school.
This is HUGE for games on the Nintendo ds that require extensive use of the touch screen like Pokemon Ranger, Nintendogs, Drawn to Life, Scribblenaughts
Id rather pay for the games i want but nintendo has let me down since the wii with whats actually available, and how sloooowly they let games out for 30 year old consoles. I literally wont live long enough waiting for games to come back if they ever do.
Back in the 2010s, I was riding in a 2002 Jeep Wrangler with the 4.0 I6, which had the check engine light on, but I think it was just because of the gas cap, lmfao It still ran like new!
Perfect, thanks for bringing awareness, I've downloaded it immediately. I've had a bone to pick with both companies, Apple for nullifying all my 32-bit games which I made a vow to never purchase another app again, and Nintendo for their anti-emulation stance. This is my way to give them both the middle finger to support neither, while still having access to a number of games.
Been playing DK64 on it, the ability to stop that game and pick it up where you left off makes the collectable aspect of it so good, definitely good time killer when I’m not home
i havent gotten the expansion because 1] i forget to renew manually and 2] they want $50 on top of the $20, theyre not prorating or discounting for an upgrade vs from scratch subscription.
I'm a week into using delta and it's the best ! The speed up button is a lifesaver. The action replay cheat seem to be working also for most titles makes the experience better for some games
Well...if Nintendo were actually selling their classic games instead of renting them on an online service...some of us would be buying them instead of emulating them.
They have been releasing Arcade archives (Nintendo games), Advance wars 1 + 2, Paper Mario thousand Year door, Mario vs Donkey Kong (Remake), Luigi's Mansion 2 HD, Miitopia (The 3DS remaster) Skyward sword HD, Pikmin 1 + 2, Super Mario RPG (Remake) Kirby return to Dreamland deluxe, Links Awakening, Metroid Prime remastered, Super Mario 3d all stars (physical version) and A bunch of other third-party retro video game collections. Which is pretty much the closest we can get to virtual Console on switch
@@M64brosstill not virtual console. Selling remakes for full price of of new game and a very small collection of retro games isn’t gonna prevent us from pirating old games.
I tried iGBA on ipad, it works well. However the app doesn't have a option menu. So no save state. Not sure if the app got pulled. This is why I stay with android. I am currently playing Twilight Princess in HD. Just made it to Death Mountain.
Did you just crawl out of your parents basement? They have always tried to shut down anything that has to do with their property that they are not involved with.
Probably because Apple dwarfs them in value & Nintendo knows they can't bully them in court 😂 Not that I have any love for Apple, but in this case I'm fine with them.
On a side note reading all the comments, I am so happy that there seem to be a few to no Nintendo White Knights defending their anti consumer practices and that Gamers are speaking up requesting that Nintendo be more resonable. Now this is Power to the gamers! I appreciate this.
Apple and Nintendo both have a history of bad decisions but Apple has infinitely more money and power than Nintendo so i'm very curious to see this escalate.
As someone who bought the RG35XX only for the OS to fail, I was SHOCKED at how easy it was to do this. Now I’m finally able to play Pokémon Infinite Fusion as I’m typing this
Screw Nintendo’s business practices, they’re just pretty much wanting to cause a bad future, so I’m glad that Apple has allowed this emulator to be available in their stores.
And hopefully others companies like Microsoft and Sony will let emulators exist on their platforms and I honestly hope they do it to put Nintendo in thair place and tell them to stop with their outdated business practices
@@tobyzillaYeah so why hasn’t that happened? Could it be perhaps Nintendo themselves have such a coveted library of retro games compared to the other 2?
