The end of an era that ended 5 years ago when the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U stopped having new games

I was never the Biggest Online 3DS Player. But, I also collected every Handheld Pokemon Game and even got the Gen 1 and 2 Games Digitally Downloaded to my 3DS. I may not have used it much beyond online battling; but it served me well for what it was.

I enjoyed my 3DS and Wii U. Not gonna cry over online servers getting shut down. Loved Mario Maker, but hated that the only way your levels could get noticed was by being a popular youtuber.

I’ve seen many servers come and go. Some of them hits the hardest while others not so much. Goes to show that nothing last forever and that players have ample time to enjoy what’s being provided until they no longer provide it.

How can i still use the pokemon bank, my 3ds wont let me connect to the wifi

I'm really enjoying the pokemon games on the switch. I really like dynamax adventures and I have found a lot of shiny pokemon in scarlet with just the shiny charm. I literally found 2 shiny bisharps and evolved them. Also Verlis would you recommend modest or timid nature for my regieleki when I eventually transfer him to scarlet?

This legit reminds me of the people that put off doing a semester-long project until the night before turn-in. They could have enjoyed these services for the last five years, but they only chase the 'latest thing' until the old thing becomes the 'latest thing' for all of five hours.

I'm fine with all of this outside of losing bank and transporter. I actually like revisiting the old games randomly and it's nice to be able to transfer them once my new playthrough is done. I understand a lot of people use the feature for nefarious reasons, but there are people like me out there who just like to move our new old buddies forward.

OG Splatoon and Mario Maker are the biggest losses, and it obviously is sad from a nostalgia perspective, but this whole loss of Wii U/3DS Online is being way more exaggerated than what’s needed.

I agree with your opinions i just wish i still had access to bank cause i liked having the ability to transfer from those generations to the more recent ones, but I'm just happy i got to transfer my OG liberty pass victini! I love it so much also great video keep up the good work

Before anything, I want to address the post at the 6:23 mark. The only logical reason why I can see for that post is because pokemon caught in SV that are in other games can be transferred to said older games (example: I can transfer a gengar from SV to SWSH, BDSP, and PLA for ribbon purposes and then back). Off that, it’s not possible to travel backwards in Bank. I can deposit from 5th gen to 7th gen, but I’ll miss out on 6th gen once I deposit to 7th gen. Off that, I’m just surprised that the online service lasted this long. It will be missed and was glad to enjoy it back then. It was fun having the 3DS in the pocket and street passin while at conventions. And at least we still have Bank transfer for a bit longer. And don’t forget, Bank access still needs a Nintendo ID to login.

Besides making the passage of time sink in, not much else felt for me beyond a remembering those good times. I do however have no regrets moving forward with my Lunala and Solgaleo edition 3DS in a simple display on my shelf. Maybe I'll upgrade the display a bit, a nice acrylic box with some non obtrusive padding, some fall protection since just had the earthquake recently.

Did you saw what Ubisoft did to The Crew last week? they made they shut down the game from your library, and impossible to play. and the cherry on the cake: No Refund. they literally forced you to go to the store to buy more "recent" games xD. the issue here is not about how many units a Specific console has sol but basically it's about Game Preservation. we're reaching a point that if you don't own the Physical Copy of a game you will lose money

They've announced this years ago, Did the last few transfers back then No need to look back at "missed opportunities" On the WiiU point: In my Friendgroup everyone had a WiiU, many amazing weekends Personally it saw near Daily activity, far more then my PS4 So it was kinda weird that Globally I didnt see it get traction at the time Still loving the Switch and looking forward to what the upcoming gen wil bring

I’m going to be honest I not sad about the 3ds & Wii U online services is down because I don’t actually care about it because they are pretty old & I stopped playing them anymore so I move on with it & make new memories for Nintendo switch & I knew that Nintendo already remake luigi mansion dark moon & miitopia & other games was released from the 3ds & Wii U so I can revisit them again & not worried about my 3ds & my Wii U ever again just make new memories with my Nintendo switch & keep moving forward & forget the old past & old memories as well too

The 3ds was definelty an amazing console for its time. However, the switch has surpassed all of the previous nintendo consoles in ability and performance. The switch is definitely the future for nintendo, the only reason one should be sad about the 3ds server shutdown is that online was free versus switch is paid.

People do the samething with PS3 complaining about the servers shouting down and ussing a 3rd party Service anyway. Newer is always better 😊

So I'm summary: competitive Pokemon sucks because 1. Pokemon is not made to me a competitive game at all and 2. Hacked Pokemon is a thing because the game never lends itself to actually build a viable team in any easy timely manner

Eh i say monster hunter community lost alot, you could play the newer games but it wont feel the same since every game has new mechanics and some monsters are stuck in those games like in 3u ceadeus, gigginox, gobul and in 4u basarios, gogmazios, dalamadur, oroshi kirin. Also mh4u had the best endgame with the relic system and being able to have every armor set even if the monsters are not in the game at that time.

Ive only recently been able to get my hands on copies of games ive grew up with so i didnt have the luxury that everyone else did to transfer up. So ill be happy when theres a fan run way to trade up hopefully

The only thing important lost that I care for was Yokai watch blasters online as well blasters T in yokai watch 3. You could actually still find people to play with before they announced the servers closeting and there is no remakes or "Better" games on the switch and there is some pretty important stuff you could only get from multiplayer. oh well its fine

I truly believe that most of the people crying never even had a Wii U and are purely riding the bandwagon. I bought the Windwaker HD Bundle on release and played the everloving shit out of it. I loved Starfox Zero. I took every advantage of the file transferring between versions of MH3U. I only ever recommended the Wii U to ONE person because they liked Monster Hunter but didn't have a circle pad pro and lamented the bad controls on the 3ds. This whole "movement" or whatever you wanna call it is dumb for the majority, but for the ones who did play it and are sad to see it go, at least we had a good run. I need to hurry and finish up shiny hunting on Ultra Moon before bank shuts down, and then I can say goodbye for good.

9:20 Dog water opinion man. Over a hundred million DS systems sold, millions of Pokemon copies. People want to transfer their stuff. And also who cares if people hack Pokemon, it doesn’t affect other people. Only hacked pokemon that are done well enough to appear real can make it through. You can’t exactly get an upper hand in competitive with hacked pokemon. Because people hack everyone else has to suffer? There’s plenty of hacked pokemon on switch lol. You join a discord and generate them. But now if you do a play through of any game before gen 8, it will be stuck in that ecosystem. You can never bring it forward and see it in the future games. That’s depressing dude the games have always been connected after gen 2. For like 20 years. I just did an emerald play through and sent the pokemon forward to home. The point is, it costs Nintendo really nothing to keep the 3ds servers up. They have a ton of servers for switch and other services. They would only have to dynamically scale them. So if like 5 people are using them, then they get less resources, then if more people jump on they need more. They could keep servers active for some of the hits for the fans, but they’d rather cut that off and leave everything behind. And then they wonder why people pirate shit. It’s greed. They seem to have forgotten when the company almost fell apart during the GameCube era, but whatever. The handheld boom will not help them, and now IOS is allowing emulators.

I'd say most of it is just for clicks, and they don't actually care, but I've witnessed how [mentally handicapped] these fanboy types actually are.

It's time to make Nintendo to revive the 3DS and Wii U servers again; we need the servers back!
