more like disappointing new hardware. Nobody wants a motion tracking, internet connected, audio recording alarm clock. Especially not in 2024 when nobody needs dedicated hardware for an alarm clock. Way to go nintendo, you would've been better off shoving all that plastic into the ocean as thats where most of this E-waste is going to end up at (that and land fills)
@@MyNamesBysol wtf you mean? You seriously want to spend $100 on a stupid alarm clock programmed to be as obnoxious as possible? Gee you are either a child that is easily impressed, or a nintendo bootlicker that is willing to buy anything nintendo churns out.
they said it will release early 2025 so im guessing March which is likely the month they make the "Switch 2" announcement which will completely overshadow this clock...
It's possible that this was the filmed trailer that Paul heard of. HOWEVER... The "signs" of a pending Switch 2 announcement had a LOT more going for it than just the possibility of a recent trailer filming. To name a few... - Other insiders hearing whispers - Walmart Canada Nintendo Direct 'tease.' (an historical precursor to the actual event) - Shipping, Manufacturing, and now firmware leaks. They all seem to indicate a schedule that makes it likely that the launch AND reveal timing may also be very similar to the original. - The invitation that several developers received, to meet at Nintendo's Washington headquarters for reasons 'unknown.' (Happens when trying to protect sensitive information not suitable for video conferences). Etc, etc. It's fine to be cautious with our expectations, but at the same time, it's hard to look at all these things without concluding that something big is imminent... 2024-imminent, I believe.
This looks very interesting, but 100 dollars is really pushing it for me. I would love to have one, but I'm not in financial place to get one. I recently bought the Great Deku Tree Lego set, so gotta wait for Switch 2 before anything else
I don't think it's happening this year. With Nintendo - expect the least at this point. So this is probably the trailer everyone was talking about. Now it would be super weird and unlikely for N to deviate from the path of promoting alarm clocks, Holiday bundles and new software this year. Nothing new up until mid january/february.
Keep in mind, one of the people to mention anything of trailers said this was NOT what they had heard about. We also should be mindful that this is limited to being ordered through NSO and the Nintendo store itself at the moment, so really the bulk of long term sales won't be until January when it releases to more retailers in a much broader scope.
@@common9542Even if that’s the case I don’t think there’s any space left to announce something big at this time. I don’t buy this “won’t affect Holiday sales” thing. Like, come on. People are gonna rush to buzz about new console creating videos and stuff and it’s gonna last for weeks and weeks. Keep in mind - this is THE MOST anticipated Nintendo device ever. It’s not comparable to announcing a product after failed Wii U. It’s waaay bigger now and you have to clear everything out of the way. Including Holiday sales and software leftovers.
@@sidewinder2057 I think the holiday sales thing has been so back and forth, to really no benefit of either side. Yes, the sales will take a hit like they have been anyways. On the opposite side of the spectrum, you don't get complacent because the Switch was a success, you make every effort possible to line up your future hardware for success. EVEN if it means sacrificing some short term sales. And really at almost 8 years, the crowd of folks who will buy a switch this holiday aren't the same who will buy the next system at launch. Ultimately this year's holiday period sales will not make or break Nintendo, but the successor hardware will have a much bigger impact either negatively or positively. That's where you want your attention.
At the end of the day, it all comes down to when it's going to be released. If the release date is in March/April like many are saying, then we'll see something this month or at least this year. Plain and simple.
Echoes of Wisdom was in September. Mario Party in October. Mario & Luigi in November. Switch 2 announcement won’t come until after that so as not to conflict with their marketing of these new Switch games for the holidays. This alarmo announcement just makes my belief in that even stronger.
There is ALWAYS current games in the pipeline of the current system when they reveal a new system. Nintendo has constant plans that are always in flow. They have the next 6 months planned out already. They aren't going to intentionally have NOTHING left before revealing the next system.
Doesn't it seem like this would be an announcement they'd include as a 2-3 minute segment within a larger general/game-oriented Direct? Doesn't rule out a Switch 2 announcement, but I think it does rule out a general/games Direct this month. And since we're unlikely to see one in November or December, this has greatly increased the chances of getting to January without knowing February's Nintendo-published game, unless they go the 'Emio the Smiling Man' zero-Direct coverage approach (which probably hampered its sales, especially in Japan.) Remember how odd it sounded that Nintendo World Championships had that "NES Edition" subtitle, and how it implied a "SNES version" was in the works? Well, they only gave 30 days lead on that game from reveal in the June 18 Direct to its July 18 release. It looks to me like they're doing the same for SNES Edition, with an announcement in January and launch in February. And by waiting until January to announce it, they don't harm holiday sales for NES Edition. Makes so much sense - and that's why it's probably not what Nintendo actually does.
I personally think Nintendo releasing the clock is there way of saying it's time for the Switch 2 in a weird way. I also think that the Switch 2 might connect to the Alarm Clock some how.
I think it should've been around 60 dollars or 70 dollars, but, it's still cool. Probably the motion sensor, speakers and LCD screen make it expensive.
Good video, Andres. I think the device is fun and pre-ordered one for my household. Definitely a little bit of unknown right now in terms of what else we are expecting. Time will tell!
If they really wanted to sell the alarmo, they should’ve also made it Wi-Fi and have a mode that alerts you to whenever Nintendo is posting something online. Like hardware announcements trailer drops and directs
The time that started the trailer was 7:30, and it ended when it was around 8:00. I could be looking to deep into it but could it be a half hour direct or trailer that releases at 7:30 tomorrow
Grasping at straws, the switch 2 is not getting revealed this year most likely nintendo said in there official announcement it will be revealed by the end of the fiscal year not released! So I’m thinking switch 2 won’t come out until fall 2025. Love to be wrong but the only people that actually know is Nintendo
@@gamingwithahandicapreviews yeah I know it will most likely be next year but there is still a very very small chance of this year so I’m just trying to have fun with this
I sure hope Nintendo puts this much creativity into the new console itself. I mean, if a clock can have fun characters and themes, why can't the switch menu? And if the next console isn't doing much to innovate (we don't know), then it's gonna feel pretty bland if it just copies the same black or white switch background with absolutely no music or personality whatsoever. I hope this alarm clock is a good precursor for what we're about to get.
Of course We know Switch 2 is coming not too far off now but the interesting thing is that motion Sensor paired to a display on a device. It's exactly the sort of ''gimmicky'' fun add-on feature Nintendo like to add to their consoles, so it totally is not far fetched that _this_ technology could be the 2nd screen on a clamshell format Switch '2'. I would love and hope for one but there's still some clues to be gleaned off this bit of kit I believe - but I think this does 100% mean no reveal till January minimum now.
I find this announcement disappointing and the chance of what Paul was told could be this is alarming(pun not intended). I think that the week after Mario Party is the last chance for a Switch 2 reveal this year.
I think it's a pretty cool, fun, and wacky announcement and overall an innovative little gadget with motion sensors and sound effects from 5 big Nintendo first party games etc... the $100 price tag may be a little crazy but this I why love Nintendo... they always catch us off guard with something we never would of expected... and preceding the Switch 2 announcement at that... now I don't personally need to buy this thing to actually use and I'm sure that applies to a lot of people... but I do believe it will sell even at $100 bucks and essentially become a collector's item more or less...
Probably not. Nintendo likely well aware its too close to another word, and removing one character in the name puts it there. I can't see them opening themselves up to that ridicule for the next 8-9 years.
@@metroidprime3863 Nah, they wouldn't do that. They'd set themselves up for it being called "Shi*t" instead, especially if they do anything to piss people off or if the hardware is underperforming.
@corey2232 That still could be a plausible name. Just because people can be immature and change the name to a curse word doesn't mean Nintendo would avoid using the name for that reason. People can do the same with PlayStation name by saying Pisstation or Pussystation, didn't stop Sony from still calling it PlayStation.
Apple should be embarrassed that its users are even considering buying this product. 10 years ago I would have said “why do I need an alarm clock”? But now I actually need one. Thanks Apple. I love waking up to the sound of “Radial” even though I have a custom alarm set to something else.
This might Actually be how they handle Switch 2 pre-orders My Nintendo members that have a Online account might get an email to pre-order Switch 2. In an attempt to avoid scalpers. Maybe it could work.
I'm taking anything switch 2 related information from Nintendo insiders like a grain of salt 🧂. Nintendo insiders information is not coming from Nintendo themselves directly.
Nintendo have an investors meeting on November 5th, and they have already declined showing them Successor sales forecasts in their previous meeting. Surely they won’t do that twice in a row, right? If not, they better have some games to show, and by that meeting all they’ll have is Brothership, DK, Metroid 4 and Legends ZA. I’m just saying, I’m certain we’re either getting a Direct or a Switch 2 reveal before November 5th.
Wow that’s a pretty cool alarm clock I might not get it I don’t know but okay Nintendo where is are next Nintendo Direct at? Because I’m still waiting for these games to come to Switch before we move on to Switch 2 which are Kirby Triple Deluxe, Kirby Planet Robobot, Tomodachi Life, Star Fox Assault, Luigi’s Mansion 1, and Kirby Air Ride like we need these games to come to Switch before we move on to Switch 2. Also really no Kirby for the alarm clock okay you see no wonder Nintendo and HAL are so quiet with Kirby right now like why?
Learn your lessons already. Don't trust these leaks. Throwing a fit over these unsubstantiated leaks is akin to a 3 year old getting his lollipop taken away
People are obsessed with anything switch 2 related information Andres. People need to hype responsibly and wait ✋ for Nintendo to finally announce or reveal the switch 2 themselves. The president of Nintendo said the switch successor will be revealed this fiscal year. I don't know Nintendo will reveal the switch 2 this calendar year.
Honestly I have a feeling Switch 2 isn’t getting revealed until February 2025 at the earliest. I’m excited for Switch 2 but I’m ok with waiting. I’m enjoying EoW lots and looking forward to Mario/Luigi Brothership
@@Crafty_boy70 oh I never said we’d get a release date in March if it’s a February reveal. My prediction is if the Switch 2 gets revealed in February, it’ll more than likely be a Holiday 2025 launch
We should take this as a POSITIVE SIGN for a Switch 2 reveal THIS YEAR, perhaps even this month too. Why? Simple... Nintendo is LITERALLY revealing their approach to scheduling hardware, CONFIRMING THE PATTERN - set by the original Switch - of revealing NEW hardware in the latter half of one calendar year, followed by an early launch of said hardware early in the following year. Seeing that this clock is scheduled for an "early 2025" release... is a good sign! The other point is that Nintendo has been clearing all other hardware reveals out of the way. This makes the SECOND piece of hardware - the first being the Hyrule edition themed Switch. Seems like there's a massive Switch 2 freight train incoming, so the path MUST be cleared. This actually INCREASES the hope for a Switch 2 reveal soon. Stay tuned!
