Y'know, Luigi is weird. He's a fan favorite character in the Mario franchise, so of course, he would have his own spinoff series that is equally as weird as him! Luigi's Mansion is a trilogy (as of now) that is known for its major deviations from the core Mario style gameplay, to this day nothing else has come out that is like Luigi's Mansion. With its silly and spooky atmosphere, and personality unlike that of anything else in the Mario series, Luigi's mansion, and its two sequels, are ones to talk about, Happy Halloween everyone!

It’s always surprising to hear how short games actually were. Like when I was a kid I remember playing Luigis mansion on and off for a whole year before beating it. Final fantasy games felt as long as an adventure like that would actually take in real time.

Love seeing Luigi's Mansion discussions. This might be a weird comparison, but something about the first game's atmosphere seems to scrape at the same type of eeriness that analog horror is built on. It's sort of like the Majora's Mask of the Mario titles, where elements of the game are unnerving beyond in-game context. If there's ever a 4th one, I hope they step back from the cartoony direction and head in a darker one. Just a quick note - the burst ability in the 3rd game is meant to push away ghosts if you get surrounded, so it doubles as a defensive ability instead of just a jump.

This is criminally underrated. Like this is so good. Make more videos like these. Even if they don't do well because eventually they will rack up a ton of views. Also the Luigi's Mansion Beta theme is a bop and is also super uneasy while being super catchy. Also-also, 2:44 feels like a Lil T joke. I am flattered.

Good video. It's really interesting seeing a different perspective for Dark Moon. The 1st game is probably the most nostalgic game of all time for me and one of my personal favorites. I loved the eeriness, environment, and variety of the characters in the 1st game so I was really disappointed by Dark Moon for basically removing all of that. That said I still love Dark Moon. I've always deep down really wanted a new entry to the series that was like the first game on steroids. Like a Luigi's Mansion with an actual fear factor, a Luigi's Mansion x Resident Evil if you will. A Luigi's Mansion with the personality and combat of Luigi's Mansion 3, unique characters and eeriness like the first, but actual terrifying enemies that keep the player on edge would be amazing. I guess kind of like Simon/Richter's Smash Reveal actually.

I LOVE the multiplayer in the 2nd and 3rd game. It feels very unique, especially how teamwork is actually very important.

Luigi’s Mansion is one of my all time favorite GameCube games, even one of my favorite Mario games. I love the spooky aesthetic of it all, the music, the fun ghost designs, even little details, like the dust particles that show up when you point your flashlight around. Some say it might not have replay value, but I enjoy starting a new game, seeing if I can beat my previous money total, get all gold frames for the portrait ghosts, find and catch all the speedy specters and 50 boos and get that A Rank.

I had seen playthroughs of Luigi's mansion 1 which made me really want to play 2, and I really enjoyed it. My favourite now is three because it combines(like you said) the qualities of 1 and 2 without most of their flaws. The animations in that game are incredible, and I loved that they kept the variety of the second. I really hope there will be a new luigi's mansion game on the next hardware, it's in my top 2 of favourite Nintendo games series along with the 3D marios.

Luigis mansion was old news by the time i originally played it, but it has a very special place in my heart, My dad is still but used to play tons of retro games, playing using some (totally legal) emulators on the wii, and id love to play him, always classic mario games, and of course i was always luigi. I grew to love him because of this, and i remember playing luigis mansion and loving it but also being terrified of it as an 8 year old. Luigis mansion one is one of my favorite game of all time, being my third favorite to this day (beaten by tf2 and undertale lol), i still adore the gameplay and play the 3ds remake frequently. (Edit, i do like the other games, but i prefer the first one out of nostalgia, and the darker tone and atmosphere, and the real struggle sucking up ghosts is, i don't dislike the other games, but id prefer the og anyday)

I absolutely love Dark Moon, regardless of what other people say. It was the first Luigis Mansion game I played and I spent tons of time playing it when I got my 3DS.

Always love seeing discussion about these games. The first Luigi's Mansion holds such a special place in my heart, it was one of those games I played all the time as a kid, I just loved the atmosphere and environments, and it genuinely scared me in some places. I still adore it today. Dark Moon, on the other hand, I don't really like at all. The game is such a slog to me with its mission-based structure and the areas aren't very fun to explore either. The third game tho, oh man do I love it. While I miss the satisfaction of getting money and especially that scary atmosphere present in the first game and some padding issues, I still love it to bits. It's such an amasing game and I blew through it when I first played it, it was so much fun to explore the hotel and all its varied area. It was the game I'd hoped Dark Moon would be as I'd hoped for years the first game would get a sequel, and my feelings on DM has softened as a result of it no longer being the only sequel to one of my favourite games.

Before Luigi's Mansion came out, Luigi didn't really have a distinct personality. He was mostly just seen as Mario's younger twin brother, or just the player 2 character. Luigi is definitely a more popular character now and has an actual personality so people are more willing to play a game starring him now than they were back then. Luigi's Mansion 2 was one of my favorite 3DS games. All of the games are great, and LM3 was such a step up in quality. I hope that they'll make a fourth game once the Switch's life cycle ends.

Honestly, the short length of the first game is a positive in my opinion. Makes the game extremly replayable compared to Luigis Mansion 2 and 3. Honestly, I will not touch LM3 for years now but I will definetly replay LM1 again every few months. The short length makes it so easy to pick-up and finish in 1 evening. The atmosphere in 1 is also definetly the best 1 in the whole series and the portrait ghost designs are still the best ghost designs in the series. Yes, 3 was okay...but they were just generic Pixar ghosts...Honestly, in my opinion, extremly boring in terms of personality. They also were all instandly aggressive towards Luigi which is a big contrast compared to LM1. The tight atmosphere and short length make LM1 definetly the best one of the series in my opinion.

Okay this is a really good video and I loved it through and through BUT I will NOT stand for someone passing off the common enemy designs as fine or God forbid better than the originals- Jokes aside, your opinion is respected but I can never see or understand how these designs were green lit, I think they’re really generic and just soulless compared to the OGs. Especially if they were given a second chance on better hardware to make them more expressive and unique. They got done dirty by whatever these new guys are and I really hope if we get a 4th installment we can see common enemies look more akin to that era of the series
