@@Skipler-J320 Yes, If they don't sell it within the next year, the PS 5 Pro will definitely make a better profit. But I've been waiting patiently for Nintendo 2. I'm really ready to buy it, People are definitely flocking to buy PS5 Pro.
I’m not 100% sure if this is backwards compatibility or not, but I also want the ability to transfer all your progress from your games on your switch 1 to your new switch 2 if you get one.
@@geminijinxies7258 you know backwards is not necessary they will remove it in the future anyway, better to have a fully new connection instead of just a power-up switch. play old games on the old console and a new one will be less expensive which may not be everybody's concern but could boost sales.
The launch titles of the Switch 2 determines if the system will sell well. Depite the Switch being like 7 years old, it's STILL a good console that can last longer. If anyone wants to play a game with high fidelity graphics they can go to their PS5 or PC.
the problem with your comparisons is that they're insanely bad. The switch was 300 dollars brand new, the iPhone 15 pro IS 1100 dollars new. The switch is almost 8 years old now, the iPhone is brand new.
@@ahmed_naeim why does that matter? You are comparing 2 entirely different things. My 1100 dollar camera has better quality when zoomed digitally 10 times than your iPhone ever will. The switch isn't meant for hardcore gaming, nor is it meant to take 4k video (also the iPhone isn't really all that good with cameras). The switch is a gaming console meant for family gaming and for lightweight games, because Nintendo doesn't need aaa games for the switch. They already have Pokemon, legend of Zelda, all the Mario games, and so many other first party titles that are so much better than some of those aaa games. All for 300 dollars AT LAUNCH is amazing. And you have to understand, the switch is about to turn eight years old, while the iPhone is sparkling new. Those two things are incomparable
@@bogotvor-rs I would describe myself as hardcore gamer and I'm gaming exclusively on Nintendo Switch right now. Not because I'm not interested in whatever else there is, but because I prefer to play in handheld mode (even at home) and I already own way more games than I can finish on that platform.
That’s stupid logic when PlayStation and Xbox is so much more powerful than a phone but at half the price. A phone cost what it does because they do many other things
@destroyur7476 right, alot of companies have been doing it, for example the steam deck, honestly so disappointing after i purchased the LCD version, they come out with the OLED version. Lmao so this time if they do that i will just wait for the upgraded version of whatever they are releasing
Right. If they can do it without getting too much flack, why not?! It's probably the last time they can do that with a handheld to make that easy money by their improved model.
The fact that the switch could’ve lasted a good 14 years if they fixed the joycon drift issue before launch and gave the switch way more power to be future proof
As a very casual gamer I'll think I'll stick to my plan of getting the OLED in September. I worry about the problems that accompany new release devices 😅
I bought my first switch less than a year ago & am happy with it, especially since I got the OLEE model. I’d be in no rush to get the next newest one. Maybe I’ll get the second version years later. (Which, why is that a thing?!) Rhetorical.
@@GreyGooseBurberryyeah if they release the lcd version first followed by the oled version, might as well wait for the oled version while i finish botw and totk on my switch 1 oled
I RARELY play my switch in docked mode, so I'll be holding out buying one until I find out how good it is or isn't. The whole point to one for me was the portability, since I always have an hour or more downtime after work before I can go home. It's small enough to fit in my purse and light enough I rarely notice it there until I want to play.
I knew from the getgo never to bother with the Switch's joycons. I bought a PowerANano when I bought the Switch. My joycons are still in amazing shape, and unused. I saw the trap of people repairing them, and figured.. nah. So, the joycons just remain in the Switch's box... forever tucked away.
Tried my best to like the original Joycons but it's full of problems. drifting, lags, and desynch. bigger joy con with all issue 0:01 resolved and dpad also is must
To be honest a more powerful switch with redesigned joy cons will be much appreciated. I'd also love to have a dock that gives the switch even more power with a dedicated graphics acceleration unit for example. It is definitely possible with current hardware and technologies and could reduce the initial cost of the switch while also boosting it's performance when needed/wanted in docked mode.
It has a fan, it's sourcing two...... 6 inch? I can't remember the diameter right now, but it's sourcing fans from 2 companies (not two fans in the system, just two different suppliers of the fan), it's in the publically accessible customs shipping manifest if you know nintendos/nvidias product codes.
The LCD isn't something malicious as many seem to think. It's the business model. In order to get the console into everyones hands the price has to be just low enough. Nintendos last few consoles cost 200, 200, 250, 300, 300 dollars at launch which makes sense under inflation. So i bet Nintendo is trying to hit the 350$ price mark, that means they gotta sacrifice some of the more expensive parts that aren't technically necessary which of course is the screen. And yes we will later down the line get some slightly impoved version with OLED. But at launch The console will be sold at a slight loss and as soon as some years pass and the parts get cheaper it will be viable to sell it at a competitive price.
Actually Nintendo is the only company not selling consoles at loss. That's what's saving them from scraping users off their money for the gains like Xbox with the game pass 😊
if its not OLED, i'm out. why go backwards? also 4k HDR in docked mode is mandatory. dont waste my time with another low-rez console. especially with dlss being an option.
After hearing, that there is no OLED, I will stay with SWITCH OLED I have. Just hope, that they will NOT change fe game slot card, so suddenly newer games will only be available for SWITCH2. That would be BASTARD move, as for me.
@@qud3913they’re thinking what you aren’t thinking, they’re probably gonna release it as LCD then later in its lifespan release a switch 2 oled just like they did with the original
@@makomancer IMO They should just release the Switch 2 with an OLED and LCD option on launch. Not release the LCD and wait years for the OLED. Cuz then people are going to be less incentivized to get the new switch if they have the OLED, cuz if they want to play more intensive games they will just use a PS5 or PC. So this means the people with OLEDs are just going to wait until the next OLED, which is worse for Nintendo cuz they are just going to get the money later for basically no benefit. And the LCD users will either wait for OLED or not, and if they don't wait for OLED, then they likely won't spend another $400-500 on a new console with the main feature being a display. As someone who owns both, the color difference is honestly wayy too big, going LCD literally feels like they are going back in time.
They have to make it backwards compatible, right? Surely. That's my main hope for it and will make it a day one purchase for me. If not, I may not even buy it at all
I'm sorry but the engine needs to be better and more powerful. With steam deck we now know you can have a handheld system AND having it run powerful. I'm tired of all my non nintendo games running so bad on switch but so much better steam deck. I mean Dreamlight Valley on switch is a nightmare! Hogwarts legacy on steam deck is so awesome!
LCD launch is lame and very Nintendo. Imagine Apple going backwards in display quality, people would freak out. Might just wait until the OLED model comes along, but use it mainly in docked mode anyway...
Smartphone will always be smartphone not strong enough to handle heavy games, heat will destroy your phone especially battery, look at my Nintendo Switch been using from 2017 still doing fine, recently just changing new fan and apply new thermal paste, luckily battery still good no bloated issue as i always play in dock everyday. Heavy game better go for gaming console that much more powerfull such as Rog Ally, Legion Go and Nintendo Switch
As someone who uses switch on portable most of the time , i would love to see it evolve to be like the asus portable deck with big screen and tv dock , and please make a bigger battery
That's right, bro. They should make an Oled screen. I'm happy to pay money for it. If compared with quality Anyway, it's worth the money. If you don't have a clue Why create an LCD screen? Otherwise, do both: LCD screen and Oled Nintendo, what are you thinking?
Probably because the money they’d spend on OLED is being spent on actually good internals? A massive price hike would hurt its sales more than any screen could.
I would like to see a VAST improvement in the Switch 2 WiFi capabilities. The Switch gets abysmal speeds. I don't really care about the screen as I'm not really into handheld gaming, I really prefer to play on a much larger TV or monitor.
So the Switch 2 is on par with my Legion Go handheld PC when docked as they can clock up to 30watts which boosts it's performance to a higher level, though at the cost of battery life
There are no confirmed clock speeds. We don't actually know yet. What we do know is the gpu is physically 6x the size of the 768 shader Phoenix apu in the go and ally X. 2x bigger in fp32 raster cores, and an uncontested compute block in the tensor cores. 1536 for fp32 raster, and 1536 fp16 compute organized into 48 tensor cores. Oh. And 12 ray trace cores. These are the only hard facts right now. We don't know what it's going to be clocked at dock. Its ga10f gpu would need 1.31 ghz to match the peak theoretical raster performance of the legion go z1e gpu clocked at 2.8 ghz. (4 tflops target). It's possible docked.
Their main focus is battery life. Whatever advancements in chip technology their main goal is a low TDP option that ensures at least 3 hours minimum in handheld mode for their first party titles.
Pretty sure that the switch 2 OLED will launch a few years later so that people buy the LCD to get access to the new games, and then buy the OLED, making Nintendo twice as much money
Yup. Businesses these days know they can get away with offering the bare minimum quality that consumers will buy, with the intention of selling more frequently rather than offering the best quality products to get customer loyalty like business did decades ago…
I'm just excited that the power draw is 5 watts. Which will give more battery life on the handheld mode. Definitely worth it if you're just gonna play pokemon or jrpg games. Fps or competitive games are definitely should play in docked. Edit: I wonder how they can cool 15watts energy without thermal paste? Just a fan is not enough to throughly cool that kind of power.... (This part only, I can't take it seriously)
I have been meaning to ask whether there will be a increase in base system memory because if a game like cod were to come it would most likely take up a lot of it if it were still 32 GB
Am not concerned about the screen, because my current switch has a decent lcd screen and am sure lcd screen have better quality than my current switch.
As someone who owns a Steam Deck, but have tried an ROG Ally, the increase to 1080p is massive. It's absolutely, 100% worth it, even at 7 inches. And you don't need to always render at native resolution. Dynamic resolutions have been a thing for consoles for more than a decade. And given the advance of software such as FSR and DLSS, we can also upscale reasonably well.
More power in the Switch 2 is great (and expected). First of all, yes all old titles will run more smoothly from now on but way more importantly: WE WON'T HEAR ANY DEVELOPERS COMPLAIN ANYMORE. I really hated that almost all developers of games for the Switch were held back by the low performance of the Switch. We might finally get better quality games.
i believe the "WHEN" of the new Switch 2 is when Nintendo finalizes a "Zelda quality" killer game to go with the launch. Hardware-wise, they should totally have secretly developed Switch 4 already
I have oled which only got 15hrs playtime since day 1. I admit kinda play lots of games but mu gripe UI kinda laggy especially browsing eshop. I badly want better hardware.
I'm having a hard time justifying wanting a switch 2 over other handhelds right now and that makes me sad.,... like why is Nintendo skimping so much on hardware they're falling behind by the minute
Hope they release this mid November. I would love to get this for my son and picking up the gold LITE switch tomorrow for Christmas. He also has the last console as well. I personally love the switch just a great overall consul.
FYI, that joycon dock has been out for years. I bought it years ago, and yes it was a Nintendo one. Maybe your country didn't get it until now. Not sure. But yeah, been using it to charge the kids joycons for years.
Hope the Switch 2 don’t cost more then the Switch OLED, I use to own a Switch Lite but didn’t care for the battery life & that you could not remove the joy cons, plus the screen was small. I always wanted to get a Switch OLED but I don’t know if it’s worth buying now especially when there a Switch 2 coming out next year.
It definitely will cost more than the OLED Model, and that’s fine. I definitely wouldn’t recommend getting an OLED model due to the fact the Switch 2 will outperform the Switch 1 tenfold. I’m not kidding too if we compare the Switch 1 chip with the heavily, heavily rumored Switch 2 chip, the leap in power is huge.
I have a switch 1, back from 2018 or something i think. I was considering going for the Switch Oled, but i wanted to wait for the switch 2, i was very unsure of the release date tho, but i think you have a good point in what your saying. good video!
I wish Nintendo would just do like other consoles do. Release a powerful disc based system. No gimmicky controls just good modern looking games. This would also allow them to lower the prices since I am sure it costs more to put a game on a card when compared to a disc. Its crazy Nintendo still expects full price for games that have been on the market for years now. This is why I haven't bought a Nintendo game for years. Looks like the Switch 2 is just going to be another obsolete piece of hardware when it launches. I mean are we supposed to be excited that We can buy $70 versions of games that have been on Xbox and Ps5 for years now? Games that are probably in the $20 range now, or at least by the time Switch 2 gets them.
Why is Nintendo always behind in technology? LCD screen? The psp had oled like wtf? 12 gb of ram? Why not 16 gb of ram? That’s so crazy… lcd. So ridiculous. I love Nintendo but why do they always have low end graphics… it a bummer…
Yeah the Wii remotes were actually way better for people with disabilities too. My dad who has MS and my 90 yo grandpa used to be able to play bowling on Wii Sports back in the day. It was so cute. Tried to get my dad to try with a joy con and he couldn’t hold it and press the button, even with remapping them. 😢
Bruh the Switch 2 was announced in June. It’s been all over RU-vid. But I’m not judging, I bought my OLED in 2021 and not planning to buy the 2 anytime soon. But just a piece of advice I learned from my dad, always research at least a bit before making large purchase (heck even a small one) especially with tech. Whether it’s a TV, air conditioner, anything.
I’m kind of really annoyed that I’m going to have to buy all new crap for this along with the console which I’m sure will take forever to get 🙄 I wish they’d make the old stuff compatible
I want: -To still have my online purchased game library -Better thumbsticks for aiming -Good reason to buy over a legion Go, steam deck or ROG Ally and to not buy a PS5 pro

I want a actual home console. Not some handheld you can plug into the tv. I think there should be a handheld line and a home console line just like Nintendo has always done
I can see them releasing LCD for Switch 2, then months/years later releasing an OLED version like they did with the switch. I think it would make more sense to give consumers the option between an OLED and LCD version from the start, but they would probably be trying to emulate the successful strategy that they achieved with the Switch 1.
@@PleaseDontLeaveMeHangingReply it is a Japanese company. idk if they'd put all their eggs on it for now. most likely gonna continue switch 1 support until they see if the switch 2 is gonna be as big.
@@PleaseDontLeaveMeHangingReply the Switch OLED was almost going to be a Pro, at least from what a lot of reports said in the past but due to the chip shortage at the time. They just decided to ship out the OLED model without the better processor.
What about the elephant in the room: Backwards compatibility? And what about the digital library. Switch is the first Nintendo console for a while that didn't have physical backwards compatibility with Wii U. And it completely ignored the users' digital purchases too. If they are so close it would seem it should have backwards compatibility, but it remains to be verified.
I'm a huge sucker for the Pokemon special edition Switch Console's. So as soon as the Switch 2 releases a Pokemon special edition model that will be my cue to finally buy one, Until then I will just stick with my Switch Oled.
As someone who owns all the modern consoles, I have recently decided I don’t want to play them anymore and gotten into retro gaming. Which brings me to Switch and wanting to play all the Mario and Zelda games. I don’t think anyone wants to play AAA games. Players want Nintendo games.
