I got a job at college just to get the switch lite lol Update: I now have a switch lite with Mario Odyssey and it was worth the money.

I feel like the Lite should've been given more battery life since it lacks tv mode. Regular switch has tv mode, meaning it always being charged when docked.

Seems accurate. I ran my own tests a while back against Dragon Quest Builders 2 with max settings and wifi on. V1: 2h 15m Lite: 3h V2: 3h 45m DQB2 is a very demanding game on Switch and I figured this would be on the more extreme end.

I have a switch lite. I personally find that games that are smaller (like $1 8-bit eShop games etc) can generally play all day on 2/3 brightness and 2/3 audio. To me it seems the high end games like zelda breath of the wild, GTA definitive edition etc uses the battery faster and I am certain it is because the switch lite require more power to play these games. Either way I love my switch lite as I have always preferred Nintendo handhelds compared to their consoles (growing up with a OG Gameboy in the early to mod 90s may have influenced this) Awesome video over all. I typed in my question on RU-vid and you answered. You got a sub here :)

For how long can you even play in one sitting if you’re not playing games with friends, honestly the amount of hours the switch lite lasts in maximum settings seems pretty solid and even if you do want to play for longer you can always get a battery bank and just play your switch while charging.

I think the test should be realistic rather than absolute maximum vs absolute minimum. I play mostly in the evening, and you dont require alot of light, but still lowest setting wouldnt feel right. So about 30% light and about 60% sound

I have the Switch V1 and seeing how much better the battery on the Switch V2 is, it makes me sad for having the V1 and angry cuz i didn't knew it and bought the V1 while the V2 was out

Awesome video! Overall I would say it depends on the game you play. I have the Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu Bundle Switch and my switch lasted for 4 hours at the 5% remaining battery marker. I played smash ultimate, brightness was at half, I was connected to WiFi, and I was constantly adjusting the sound between zero and half.

Fast charging would be a great addition for the "pro" (if the rumors are correct) or even for the next gen switch like 25 or 45 watts of fast charging would be very beneficial for mobile play but also for docked play if the switch 2 is going to be on steroids

I have been trying to convince my parents to replace my faulty 5 year old Kindle cuz it barely allows RU-vid to run at 1080p. Probably 720p or less. I have decided to ask for the lite and a game, and I want BOTW so this is a helpful battery life video, though I would play with medium volume and full brightness since I live in a some what dark room (no light in the daytime) because I have headphones. I've tested my set on my friends switch and I don't think the volume. between the v2 and the lite are any difference since my headphones act like the volume is cranked to the max. Now for games like DOOM where I'd need max volume to hear enemies and hear the talking, I'd probably have it up all the way tbh. Just one question: if overtime both the joysticks break will I be sent a whole new console? Or would they give me the console back but they had made minor errors to the rewiring? Will they give me a replacement console in the same color, and will they do it for free?

If Switch is Ur first console for this gen from Nintendo then u must buy SWITCH Red one. The new version. U can dock it n also display is bigger. If something happen to joycon u can change it. One of the main reason n most important reason not to get lite.
