In this Nioh 2 tempering guide, I cover the armor & weapon stats which can be tempered at the blacksmith. I have created a spreadsheet which contains the stats and attributes which can be changed on your weapons and armor at the blacksmith. My aim is to help the Nioh 2 community to more easily find the stats they would like to use in character builds by providing this information.
I do not believe this is a complete list of all the possible attributes (this is a work in progress), but I hope to continue building this if people find it useful. For now this is a place to start.

really helped out!! Since nioh 2 came to pc ive been having a blast trying to make sense of it and how much more in depth this game is from nioh 1 just started on the dlc's with a friend so i think a lot of this is gonna help

Just an idea to improve this (that's already great!) In the armor category if you could specify on what piece that bonus can roll (not including inheritsbles ofc) that would be godlike (ex Attack can Only roll on gloves etc). Other than that great work keep It up!

Thanks dude... Yeah I agree, it will take some work to really specify what goes where!... The main thing I'll struggle with is being 100‰ sure of the stats that can't roll on certain armor slots.

I’m currently running a Katana & Dual sword build with elements, anima, onmyo & niniutsu for buffs & range. Its been going really well

@@Onos might be time for an updated version i've seen more stuff as well not on the list plus maybe even going one step further by putting it in categories like head,chest,arms,legs,ft for armor because i was looking to see specifics because not all gear roll the same skills but again im only suggesting and would be nice if the doc would be editable so i or someone can help lighten the load a little you know fine tuning

I haven't seen it in nioh 2 yet, but are there still Change attack to () rolls? I know that at some point you can reroll the 3 Main stats of a weapon but i wanna know if i could for example make my katana scale with magic Thanks in advance

hey, i know i am a little bit late, but can i get 2 bonuses of the same "tree"? for example, can i get untouched ninjutsu and ninjutsu power?

right now im making ninjutsu build. i wanted to use fuma ninja things to that i have kunai and shuriken damage but it doesnt have ninjutsu power so i had to temper. bruh all i can say is thank you for a guide.

hey brother, great guide but i do have some questions i can't answer on my own: is there some logical deduction i can use in order to forecast the next 3 perks that will show up once i rerolled? I mean, if i reroll the "low stance attack ki consumption", the next 3 perks that will show up, will fall in the same table category, will change based on some rule or will be totally rng?

Hey bro. I did test that a little bit (with limited crafting materials)... It does seem to be RNG. I was hoping there was a system but so far I haven't found one

I’m still semi new at Nioh 2, just started playing the PC version and beat Magara Naotaka, loving my splitstaff/Onmyo build so far tho. I’ve been trying to build a splitstaff worthy of it tho. I’m prob around level 68 or so and I’m trying to get a splitstaff imbued with lightning because build compliments lightning more than anything else besides purity. Can’t seem to forge or temper anything like that yet tho. Closest I’ve got is rolling the dice at the tea house

Goodluck with your channel, love the info you gave, but something I still dont understand is; I want to temper a specific skill on my armor. For example I want to temper the dual sword skill Windstorm % dmg bonus on my armor, but doesmt matter how much I temper it does not come.. Any ideas?

To be honest I'm still figuring that one out myself, I feel like the damage bonuses for specific skills only show up on certain pieces... I've seen the skill damage boost on weapons mostly

I’m on region 3 and I put all my stats into magic. I wear light armour and use switch glaive and lightning magic + leeching talisman. All I do is leech the boss and spam lighting shots and other magic. If he hits me I just get health back

Does Luck effect you rolls when tempering ? Is it just random, is there anny whay to get better rolls ?

Honestly, I don't know about luck. I think it's mainly about RNG, but you're much more likely to get the best rolls with higher quality Unbracite

Great video, been trying to get attack bonus constitution on my weapon, but it just won't roll on it no matter how many tries !! , but at least i know its possible .

Hello, my name is Max Minstats and I really appreciate this spreadsheet. I just have one question. How many of each catagory can you roll on a weapon? if seen people with weapons that have imbue fire and burn accumulation together. Those are both in the damage catagory tho.

The imbue fire I believe is classed as a starufls effect, and the accumulation is just a way to maximise on it. Neither would clash with a specific damage ability if that makes sense. Unfortunately I don't have a list of everything that clashes though! I don't know them all

@@Onos Thanks for the response! Contributing this spreadsheet is already plenty! The reason I asked about those swords specifically was another uploader claimed it didn't clash and counted as ki damage category. So that piqued my interest. Does that resource exist anywhere? If not, could be a good project idea for your channel 😉😉 haha not really, that sounds like a research nightmare lol

I came across elemental damage taken -12.9% and this one doesn't have (guarding) at the end. I've only seen that option from a chest piece though. I've tried hundreds of times on each of the other pieces but they always have (guarding) included...

One other question too, how do some default perks on crafted gear interfere with slot availability? The dual bloodstained cleavers have "melee damage zero ki enemy" would that take away one of your damage perks?

Hey max. Yeah it would be a trade off.. You'd need to decide if you wanted that perk more than on you selected yourself

Thanks for the vid, it says on the spreadsheet you can only imbue with lightning or poison... Is that def the case? How do you get the other elements on your weapons?

Hey Joe, the spreadsheet must need updating - you can imbue with the other elements too. I think that Purity and Corruption need to be native to the weapon though

Hey Ryan... Yeah there are divine set bonuses.... If I remember right, if you check out my video on heavy armor sets (should be in the Nioh 2 playlist on the channel) there is a link to a spreadsheet in the description... Think they're on that one at the bottom of the sheet.

Tips on what stats to temper in for a dual swords build? I'm split with Ninja so all armor pieces have kunai damage, untouched ninjitsu and also ninjitsu power

Hey Nemesis. the way to go at the moment would be "Attack" on all your armor pieces if you can do it - then later in the game, the star roll "active" skill damage seems to be the meta

I've noticed that it's far cheaper to just create new sets and temper them, rather than soul match, due to the crazy gold costs of soul matching.

This is true. I think the soul matching is mainly meant for building up the number of available attributes in your gear rather than continuously trying to improve its item level

Right, inheriting and all. Which I haven't bothered with in forever, due to the price. I typically obtain a nice weapon that doesn't have an inherited (non-temperable) stat and then just reroll all of the stats to make it perfect. I imagine that I will do a little inheriting at end game. Right now I'm in the 5th zone though and it's all tempering for me now.

@@jamescatchot10 sounds perfect to me. I didn't do any real inheriting stuff until new game plus. Basically I use it to get more stat options on my weapon and then mess about with them using the tempering system

Hey dude. No they don't. I believe that some of the more common attributes can be found on anything, but things like +attack for example only show up on gloves when you're tempering, that's why people want Inheritables so they can transfer tha stats over to other armor pieces
