That's a very impressive Bleach collection you have there. I'm gonna have to check out what pressing I've got now. I've got all there LP's which I bought back in the 90's when they were released but I purchased Nevermind 1st then I got Bleach so I've probably got a 3rd pressing. Awesome video, I'm looking forward to seeing more of your Nirvana collection.

Good to see this, brings back a lot of memories. I had about 9 variations back in the day picked up a mostly from Parramatta record fair. Met frank a few times also Would love to see more of your collection. I've still got pics of mine including Love Buzz 88/1000. Such fond memories of hunting this stuff.

Hi. Nirvana is not my favourite band, however I am suprised they produced so many variations of each title, which is cool to collect,especially the pink marbled lp you showed. If you are going to make many more Nirvana vids perhaps you could alternate them with record hauls, thrift store finds or just more varied a mix from your collection. Hey Steve. Yeah it's amazing the number of variations they had. The third pressings were made after the success of Nevermind so that would explain why there are so many. Trying to cash in on the huge Nirvana "buzz" at the time. These pressings are known as the 'erika' repress, from the name of the pressing plant used by SubPop at the time. The story goes that SubPop owed money to erika so allowed the plant to press and distribute some records. Along with the Bleach LP, they also pressed a large number of colour variations of the Sliver 7" single. Thanks for the tip mate. Will definitely find a good way of doing videos that keep people's interest. :)

I have finally started into getting nirvana on vinyl. Got the 20th anniversary edition on way now in mail. Figured I would start there. I would love to have original pressing, but way too costly. Plus the pressing I'm getting will include a live performance disc. Great video! Very cool records! Thanks for showing✌🏽️Josh

You really got some valuable records there! Those early colored pressings and that original white go for ridiculous prices!! Which pressing sounds the best out of ones you have?

i see true dedication here... quite an impressive collection of variations. when it comes to the red streak in the white vinyl i'd say that this copy is amongst the first 30 or max. 50 of the print run according to what a guy i know who happens to run a 7" pressing plant here in hamburg once told me when i was ordering a print run of coloured 7"es for my own label

Down Under Vinyl i seriously doubt that a professional industry standard plant is mixing up pellets. except for doing splatter vinyl in which they need to put in the splattered colour pellets by hand

wow dude! seeing how may copies there are was a real eye opener. Would never have guessed that many. Some of those 3rd US pressings really are very easy on the eye. Ashamed to say i dont yet own a single Nirvana record but they certainly are on my want list. Great vid.

And that's only a small %. There are so many other coloured varieties in the 3rd US pressing. Plus all the other countries and the newer coloured variants. Let me know when you add some Nirvana vinyl to your collection. Thanks for watching my vids mate.

Just bought my 30th Bleach variant. Very addictive collecting this album. I haven’t dove into the US 3rd pressing collection yet, but that is on the horizon if I can ever find affordable copies. I have two copies to track down from the first two generations before delving into 3rd gen and one is just a matter of finding a deal as multiple copies are for sale on Discogs. Very cool that you have so many country first pressings; I’ve stuck mainly to US, UK, and Australia; my apologies to Japan, Germany, and Brazil. Glad you got some of yours before the recent vinyl craze! I did get all from 4th generation forward at basically retail value. You have a great collection and perhaps has even grown since you made this video about 6 years ago. Cheers!

Very nice collection. I have the majority of the colors you showed on this video. 1st pressings still are on my want list especially the UK Tupelo. Plus, are you aware there are alternate variations of the USA 3rd pressing and Australian Waterfront. And I don't mean the colors.

No dumb questions at all mate. Not particularly. To get technical: All vinyl records are made of PVC, which is naturally colourless anyway. To turn this clear material into a solid color titanium dioxide and other additives are mixed in. To make the standard black vinyl color, black carbon is often added, which strengthens the PVC mix.

The 2009 LP reissue was cut from the analog masters by George Marino at Sterling Sound, with Jack Endino present. It sounds really good actually. If you can’t get an OG copy then it’s a great option.
