Nice video Jake. Do you know the filter size.....front element? Thanks

Hi Jake, I can recommend placing the camera and any lenses into a large zip-lock plastic bag before entering the enclosure. Walk around for a few minutes to check out the butterflies until the camera comes up to the ambient temperature and then use it. This will stop any fogging of the lenses. Great video by the way.

Great review. I was hoping to see some comparisons with Raynox.

Thank you! I wanted to keep it about Nisi and not bring another brand into the video. You can watch this video from another macro photographer who compares the Raynox more ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-k9-lS8tHIaQ.html

I'm curious to see this stacked on top of the raynox since they both have a 49mm filter thread 🤯
@Notagain640
@Notagain640 Год назад
@@12aymondyoung it would probably make the minimum working distance negative. (Inside the lens). If you can't get physically any closer to the subject, stacking them probably won't help.

Nice video thanks. To work out if it would help me, I hope you can answer one question for me. Does the increase in magnification simply come from being able to get closer to the subject (reduce working distance)? i.e. if you can't physically get closer because of physical restrictions would using one of these lens adapters make any difference?

From my experience, this lens reduced my working distance. If you want to increase the distance then you will need a macro lens with a different focal length. I am using a 60mm so you might want to get a 90mm...that way you are further away from your subject but you probably won't get a better magnification.

@Jake's Macro Nature ok thanks, that's the feeling I'm getting from watching various videos. I'm using the canon rf100mm macro already with a full frame sensor. So I'm thinking if I can't reduce my working distance, these types of lens modifiers probably aren't going to help. Add to that the vignetting I'm likely to get with a full frame sensor, and it's probably going to be worse.

@@Notagain640 you are probably correct.

@@Notagain640 fwiw, I use the (lower power, +3.5) 77mm version of this on full frame and it works like a charm. don't need to get that much closer, the 150mm 1:1 lens is probably helping though.
