I’ve never been so happy to hear door lock/unlock clicks, engine starting, trunk open & the welcome sign on the display in all my life! Your video and suggestions were spot on as the prongs in the fob were bent. You, my friend, just saved me a lot of money! Thank you so much😘
7 years old and it still works! Thank you so much for this!! Mine is a 2016 altima and when I was changing my batteries I must’ve bent the prongs in. You are a life saver. May god bless your soul and have a very happy holidays. Best wishes!
Nine years later and you’re still saving lives ❤thank you for making this video was able to fix my fob For me it was the battery prongs I had to pick them up took two try’s to get it right but got it to now work 🎉
I wanna say this video really helped me out. I had lost my keyfob over a year ago, I had to contact Nissan they wanted in pa 350 for a new one and to program it but I had purchased one months before I lost mine just to have an extra one but I didn’t know at time how much to get programmed until I found out and it just sat. I had to pay someone to come out after shopping around and paid 295 and it lasted a week. I just so happen today being bored looked up how to fix keyfob and watched your video and now my car unlocks and locks and it hasn’t in over a year. Thanks again because I didn’t have another 200+ to get it fixed. I swear push start cars aren’t that great after all lol to me
Thank you thank you thank you!!! I had to leave a comment. My husband and I are having to share my car while his is in the shop. All the swapping the fob back-and-forth has been a nuisance. I knew I had a second one in a drawer. After putting in a new battery it still did not work. I adjusted the prongs as you suggested and BINGO it’s working. Thank you again! God bless you!
I bought a 2011 nissan altima just a few days ago and the owner says the key needs reprogramming i went and bought a new battery and replaced it amd it was still not working and as i started watching this vid it was the battery from the owner was installed wrong and as i turned the battery the correct way it works immediately 😀 thanks so much alot
Single gal here. Last night I replaced my battery from one I got at Walmart. I watched another video on how to do it. After I replaced it nothing, it wouldnt work AT ALL. I watched your video the morning. Key now is back working. Thank you so much ! 👏
Thank you after going through so many videos that just had me frustrated. Came upon this. Car battery died at the job. Had to get a boost from roadside assistance. Then no key I'd went home to see if I had a fob battery. Had to leave car running in driveway. Went bought a new car battery. Changed out key fob battery. Then car kept saying no key I'd. 2 days of watching videos unplugged battery in car. Nothing car still wouldn't recognize key fob. Was just going to go to dealer. Came upon this video did what you said closed it up. Hit panic button car started going off in garage. Door locks started working. Car recognized fob. Finally someone who does not run their mouth and know what they are doing. 🙂
Omggg Thank you soooo much! I realized I put the battery on wrong 🤭🙄 you’re a life saver!!!!! I was locked outta my car in this Houston weather 100 degrees outside. Almost gave up. Saw ur video and literally started crying 😭 u da besssst. God bless
Thank you for the info! Fixed my son's key fob for his 2009 Nissan Rogue that was having intermittent issues. This was exactly the problem!! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!
After having problems with one of my fobs for the last few weeks, I tried every suggestion on RU-vid and Nissan Forums. I changed the batteries several times, adjusted the terminal prongs as shown here as well as doing the battery disconnect reboot, etc. On one of the forums one poster made a point of using a high quality, new CR2032 battery. On my 3rd battery change the fob amazingly came to life and I was back in business. I had already thought I needed to head to the Nissan dealer or a Locksmith to have them reprogrammed but not required now.
Thanks for posting that. I changed both keyfob batteries less than 2 months ago, I had purchased a "good deal" on Amazon with a lot of good reviews. I tested them, they are 3V batteries with 3V in them, but I was getting a "No key detected" message, opening of the door was iffy, to start the car I had to bring the keyfob to the button. I just went to the store and bought 2 good quality batteries and the message is gone and all the issues are gone. I guess I have a lot of 3V batteries for TV remotes now.
I have a Nissan Sentra and both of my keys did not work after the battery change. I bent all of the contacts and put the batteries in the correct way, and both keys are like new. I had been working on this fob problem for about a month till I saw your video. Thank you so much, Ohlookitsfaith. Thank God.
You have no idea how happy I am that this is working for people. Dealerships try to RIP people off ove simple stuff like this. Feel free to share this video. Hopefully it helps many more 👍🏾
You HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD, for me!!! I have been a computer tech for 30 plus years, not a car tech, and your solution was my answer. All I can say is, that these electronics now-a-days for cars, are a PAIN IN THE ASS. Jokingly, I say that you have to take a college course (and pass it), in order to have a car that functions correctly, or a computer that functions correctly, now-a-days, which sucks. Thanks for your video...
Oh my god. I bought a 2009 Altima a few months ago off marketplace. Owner only had one key. Well none of the buttons worked which I didn’t complain about because I got it for a good price, just have to manually lock and unlock which could be annoying. Car would start and run fine with the key in the slot but the lock/unlock buttons never worked. Low and behold I find this video, so first I open my key and what do you know, my battery was upside down!! 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️ girl you just saved me a HELL of a lot of stress and headache thinking I had to go to the Nissan dealer for a new key. I wish I could give this video multiple thumbs up you’re a life saver, or maybe I’m just dumb!! Haha
Thanks for the info. The 2 small contacts near the battery were compressed and not making good contact with the gold strip. Both of my keys suffered the same problem, and now they're both working. Thanks again!
Literally I was about to cry because my car would not start or even unlock, luckily the battery in the key fob decided to start back working just enough for me to get in my car. I had changed the battery and everything and nothing was working. Just to come to your video and realize i have to put the battery on the negative side 😑and then it wants to work. Lol i was like woww, but thanks for this video, it was clearly helpful
2013 Murano fob had the two small prongs bent down and not touching the new battery. Gently pulled the prongs back up, put the battery back in and HOORAY, IT WORKS! Thanks so much for the tips.
Thanks a Million... I was just about to take the FOB to the dealer before which my wife asked me to check RU-vid and Tadaa... Fixed the problem after watching your video. You saved me $200. This was the issue exactly.

Thank you for your advice. It worked for me. I have a Nissan Rogue 2008. The difference between your intelligent key and mine is that instead of 4 filaments my key has only 3 and on the other side has 2 like your key. I did as you advised. And save me a lot of money. Thank you very much. Greetings from Medellin Colombia
Thank you very much for this info. My 2017 Altima key for some reason wouldn't work and I followed your instructions and it worked. Thanks again. Blessings

YOU ARE A LIFE SAVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I just fixed both of my fob keys because one was dead and the other had the battery in wrong! Thank you my friend
I love you so much, it find the problem when i watch ur post , i had replaced many batteries watching many RU-vids but the actual problem is the “prunes” thanks 🙏🏼
damn. thank you. I just bought a used Nissan Altima 2007 and the key fob doesn't lock/unlock. I opened it up and one of those 4 triangular metal prongs was bent and is now broken. I gotta replace the whole thing. thanks for guiding me to the issues.
You just saved me so much time and money. I knew it had to be something I accidentally hit and you were right. It was one of the prongs. THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH!!!
When I bought my 2016 Nissan rogue It only came with one fob. I ordered two fobs on Amazon for $60 the programming was expensive $120 each but worth it for me.
I'm so fucking stupid, I kept changing the battery and I saw the prongs sticking out and thought "hmmmm that looks wrong" as if a was an expert. Thank you so much.
Having the same issues. I hate these keys so much. $250 wasted. Technology does nothing but fail and make life more complicated. Never getting a Nissan again.
