Thank you so much brother . Very very thanks . I got in a trouble the spring and lock position. But now clear . Your this video too much help me thanks
Cool, someone on the g37 forums actually figured out how to add a dipstick to the Infiniti 7AT. So you won't have to use a pump and can check your level ocassionally.
you all prolly dont give a damn but does any of you know of a method to get back into an instagram account..? I was dumb lost the account password. I appreciate any help you can give me.
@Raymond Julius i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Speed handle....good use...not as quick as air tools but faster than regular sockets and less risk of getting too much torque and damaging either threads, bolt heads or both.
I have ,also infiniti Q50 2014 is it the same, components?the problem is only ,shifting to 2&3 after that, stop and high idling and i will check the IDS they have code p0720 it means oss /output speed sensor, so if i replace the oss is it sure the shifting is going to normal?
Well hopefully nissan/Infiniti goes down a different path now. As they released the new juke with a 7spd dct. Hopefully its a start in a new direction.
Have you got any opinion on the manufacturers "sealed for life" fluids? I'm in Australia and did 3x drain and fill on my 370z with the jatco 7at. You cannot get Nissan matic s fluid from dealers here unless you buy large 20 liter drums for about $450 which I was quoted. I replaced with full synthetic low viscosity fluid that meets the matic s spec. I've seen a lot of arguments online from folks who obviously aren't car people who argue you never should replace the fluid and can actually cause damage doing so. After training and filling 3 times following the factory service manual I swear the transmission feels so much better. I think mine was a little bit low from factory as it would slip a little when cold.
Service intervals for an automatic transmission vary from every 70,000 miles to never. The typical service interval is 70,000 to 100,000 miles. Changing it more often does absolutely no harm. Because heat is generated in an automatic transmission as the friction plates slip during a shift, automatic transmission fluid actually degrades and breaks down with use. If you don't change the transmission fluid at all, you'll be lubricating your transmission with degraded fluid and other contaminants. This will shorten the transmission's life. In other words, changing your transmission fluid at the correct interval is a good investment. If when you take a sample of the fluid from your car and it is dark and has a burned smell, then it is time to service your unit. If however a sample of fluid is clean and smells fairly new then you can hold off for another 30,000 miles, be sure the fluid level is correct. Many manufactures purchase their transmission from JATCO, ASIAN, or ZF, and the manufacturers give you a warranty for up to 70,000 to 100,000 miles. However after that you are on your own as far your vehicle maintenance and repair is concerned.
@@ThompsonAutoTest Excellent explanation. I got a 2018 Nissan Navara - mexican manufactured - (Frontier in Brazil) with a similar transmission and I am looking for the oil and filter replacement for the ATF. Can I hold the original fluid for up to 5 years if I don't reach the minimum mileage - a repair shop told me it must be replaced with 50.000 km (31.000 miles) or four years. The owner's manual just brings the following information: ATF oil must respect "NIssan Matic S" specs. There's nothing about time intervals.
@@zepe_reira Transmission fluid can be stored for extremely long periods of time whether it's stored in the bottle on the shelf or in the transmission. Mileage is the major factor for both engine oils and transmission fluids.
So far this has been a winner for Nissan and Infiniti as these cars and SUVs equipped this transmission have held up very well. Some of its applications are real high performance vehicles and it seems to be handling the load and lasting fairly well.
Nissan uses vehicle names...Altima, Maxima, Sentra etc.....Infiniti uses letters and up until around 2024 into designate engine displacement. Example G25 M35/37/45/56. Starting in 2015 they went to Q and the number has no cross reference to engine size. Basically Q for sedans and QX for CUV/SUV. The QXX of the first number is odd most likely a sedan. (Q50/70). Q with even number in the middle is a coupe (Q60) The QX design pretty simply means All/4 wheel drive. The exception to the Even number being a coupe is the CUV/SUV where the higher number means bigger size.
I would say that a side by side comparison would show that there are definite similarities. Mercedes has traditionally developed their own automatic transmissions and JATCO is a separate company but it appears that they are definitely talking to each other unofficially.
I’m facing an inevitable rebuild, how much should it cost? Haha the guy told me that these come 11-12$K brand new. I cannot find any *factory remanufactured* RE7R01A’s. I also cannot find any price estimate for the rebuild cost online or abroad. Help me :(
Many automatic transmissions can be rebuilt and put back into the service with a basic overhaul kit or banner kit and many hard parts come from used units purchased from used auto parts suppliers. This unit costs $1200 and was purchased from Autogator, a used auto parts supplier in California specializing in late model cars. www.autogator.com/index.php The cost of a full rebuild with a one year warranty at our shop is between $1500-$3500 depending on the vehicles and the damage. We purchase our overhaul kits and banner kits from WIT Transmission Parts and transmission cores from a variety of used auto parts suppliers. www.wittrans.com/
Thompson AutoTest: Sir this info is amazing. Could you refer me to whichever kit you vouch for the most in terms of the highest possible quality, reliability, and long term durability? Because the Q50 beats on this transmission with its VQ37 engine and i need to supply this builder with the best kit i can find. Which one is that to you?
I have this transmission on my 2017 Q50. It shifts really rough between 2- 3 and 3-4 gears, up or down. Sometime the car is jerking so bad or making loud knocking during the shift. No idea where the sound is coming from. Hopefully the transmission will be dead before my warranty ends.
The first step would be to install the scan tool and check for fault codes and monitor operation while observing the symptoms. A quick check of fluid level and condition is in order, however, I believe the 2017 Q50 does not have a transmission fluid dipstick. These types of transmissions are designed to be maintenance free. In order to check the transmission fluid, your vehicle likely has a overflow bolt on the bottom of the transmission pan. Your car must be level when the fluid is checked and we therefore recommend having a mechanic with a hydraulic lift or underground bay check your transmission fluid. If you are still under warranty I would recommend letting the dealer inspect the unit and make any recommendations.
Hi there, I was wondering if you had the torque specs for the bellhousing to trans case bolts. I can find the information for the manual transmission but not the automatic.
I had my 7AT serviced for the first time at 90k, I immediately noticed the car would have a hard time in turns. In 3rd-4th gear the car at 35-45 mph will occasionally “slip” whereas the other gears function perfectly fine. If I abruptly brake to a standstill the car will hesitate before rolling when I put my foot on the gas. If i push the car hard enough in lower gears, the car CAN go into limp mode. I never had issues prior to servicing my transmission. I’ve been told that this can be symptoms of a bad valve body. Can you confirm this? It seems to make sense now knowing that the TCM and valve body are interconnected, causing the car to run a failsafe. Thank you
did you do a valve body strip video please? This video is easily one of the best i've ever seen on RU-vid, so composed and informative gives me confidence to tackle such jobs
@@OOpSjm arh ok, seen some others yes.; It would be good to understand the model numbers and related valve body models. I have an fx30d which i think has a JATCO JR710E otherwise known as an X387C but god knows what valve body, let alone if any of what i'm saying is right.
Thank you master for the video by accident the output shaft came out like an inch I was replacing speed sensor, so the transmission is in the car so that means I won’t be able to put all way in the output shaft because is horizontal position. I am home mechanic is my son car I’m already scared because I can’t put bell housing back. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you
geez.. didnt realize how complicated this transmission was.. no wonder it has a 3x drain and fill technique instead of a full flush. that a lot of nooks and crannies to fill
hey thompson i have a question, are these transmissions normally mounted in the same position as the start of the video? im getting code p0720 which is output shaft speed sensor. Which is inside based off your video. But would i just be able to remove that cover from under or is it positioned on the top when the transmission is installed? THANKS a ton. I have the sensor on hand.
p0720 is a bit generic, but check that your Speedo works first. If you still have a working speedo then it may not be the sensor. To change the sensor: 1) Drain and Remove trans pan. 2) Disconnect sensor wire from TCM board 3) Drop tail extension of transmission (after disconnecting axle) 4) 10mm to undo sensor as shown. 5) reverse steps to install new sensor
@@ThompsonAutoTest that would be great I just installed a speed sensor and started reassembling drive shaft is already installed as I was installing transmission linkage I couldn't get the transmission into Park. I was wondering was it any thing that needs to be done with the parking mechanism before installing rear case..?
My 370z 2011 is so slow between gears with only 25,000 miles on the car, had 3 shops say can fix it but it comes back the same or worse to the point i'm selling it, any advice as i would like to keep it .
I have a 2013 G37x with 7 speed Jatco transmission. Change transmission fluid every 30k miles. At 60k miles right after 2nd transmission fluid change the transmission started shifting rough when cold. Whenever the transmission shifts into D from Park or from 2nd to 1st gear when coming to full stop at the intersection or stop sign, the transmission would bang into gear and the whole car would shake! It only acted up when the transmission was cold. What could be the problem? Did the last mechanic under fill the fluid? Just missing half a quart of fluid maybe? Ran a scan, no codes.
TORQUE "ALL" VALVE BODYBOLTS TO 10 N·M (90 IN.LB.) shop.ukrtrans.biz/wp-content/uploads/catalogs/JR710E.pdf This is a very helpful .pdf file to help with the understanding and repair of the JR710E Transmission.
this is such a great video, I have a 2011 Infiniti M56S I hear a loud clicking noise(solenoid click?) when it shifts the first 2 or 3 gears or when i use the manual mode any ideas what it could be I already changed all fluids transmission/rwd transfer etc at 130000 km
It is always a good idea to service the transmission and change the fluid in the transfer case on a high mileage vehicle. When changing fluids look carefully at the old fluid for condition, metal, and clutch material. Normally it is hard to hear the solenoids turning on and off so I would suspect a possible mechanical problem developing with this loud clicking sound.
