RPM? No, speed. He's even looking at the gauges constantly while wheel spinning on the limiter in 1st gear - because he knows exactly what SPEED the wheels will stop spinning and 1st gear will top out. I'd bet he has the optimum speed for each gear change memorised.
I’ve analyzed this so many times, somebody I used to know playing on the radio, music video included. The sheer confidence in his movement, it’s as if he genuinely worked a shift prior to this. He isn’t sure, but at the same time he knows this is his moment to shine. The pen in his pocket says so much. This man is an absolute legend, and an anomaly at the same time.
Only now years later I notice that he was listening to "somebody that I used to know" in the multimedia at the dash board, not only a man of racing but a man of culture.

i noticed something,at the start he kept it in 1st for a few moments,shifted 2nd,and then 3rd.The thing i noticed is that he had shorter gear ratio on the first 2 gears but from 3rd and higher he had a longer gear ratio and that is the reason why he gapped the porche in 3rd gear
@@cwnot4060 all older gen nissans have that and alfa romeos i believe.. they were only ones who did that back then im pretty sure.. My SR20DE had long 1st gear short 2nd long third short fourth and long fifth its quite nice to drive
When you know your transmission and the perfect timing to shift at the maximum rpm you can beat anyone. I had a Honda Accord 1979 in 1996 with manual 4 cylinder. I was able to destroyed any driver that tried. I was a delivery for food, and at 18 y old you don't have blood in your veins but gasoil.The second gear push this little Honda to 90km/h like a magic trick. I miss this old time.I still have dream sometime about this car.
