I drove one of these when it freshly came off the show floor seeing as my dads Pathfinder went into servicing but couldn't drive because of the manual transmission. Got to admit, that was one of the best cars i've driven. I like the fact that it looks completely different to the older model which makes it look a lot more luxurious.
Why do men always compare mini cars to sport ones? Some people dont care about AC. Or split seats. Its a car, it should do what its made to do. Some people dont like luxuries.
You are the only one... and I mean it that... you show and give to us, that small but important detail, for some of us, for the back seats when they are almost disappear, for extra cargo loading space!! Thank you for that!! Not from luck you are in the 🔝 !!
I bought it brand new. Actually I bought 2 of them. One of them I returned to the dealer for a Nissan Note. I needed the extra space. The fuel economy of the Micra is brilliant. 5.9-6.3 in city, while rushing the traffic lights! Great car. The only down side as i said is the soft suspension.
Last week I had to choose between a Kia Picanto, Rio, i20, i30, Soul and a Micra. I put them all on paper and the best came out to be the Micra. For 12490 Euros I payed I got the highest level: the Tekna pack: SatNav GPS and all extras. Also i got the CVT automatic, which in the review Mat forgot to say that it has a sport mode button. It feels a bit soft but I plan to change to a firmer suspension setup. I can say it is perfect. The steering is really pointy not as he described. Hly recommended
I take delivery of my new Micra next month. I was happy with the car after a test drive and a good look around in the showroom. I have ordered the Shiro model with Nissan Connect and six speakers in addition to the Shiro package. It has all the toys one needs for comfort and convenience. The Micra is meant to be a simple, easy to drive car that is cheap to run. I think it accomplshes that aim pretty well.
I just purchased a near new 2019 Nissan Micra, Canada's version looks exactly the same. The Micra was no longer sold in Canada in 2020, so we will never see the new model Micra. I love the vehicle, though I wish the rear seats folded away like this model....they must have eliminated that as a cost cutting measure.......The styling is not much to write home about, but my vehicle now stands out to the new vehicles that are being produced that would not look out of place in a Star Wars movie.....busy interiors, busy exteriors with fake plastic chrome everywhere.....in comparison I find the Micra's dull interior calming.....its a joy to drive....
I'm excited to get my little Micra in January (though I hope it arrives sooner). I just ordered it today. :D I was going to get a Kia Rio 3, but problems with work have made me think twice so I'm getting the base spec Visia Micra with A/C on a 12 month lease until I can save for hte Rio in cash. Its not the best car in the word when I tried it, but for £10,000 if bought new, you get AC and Bluetooth handsfree + music with a 1.2L engine. Makes it much better value than a Ford or a Vauxhall.
I've had my 2004 Micra now for 19 years.. it's so nippy.. not street cred, it passes MOT every year, even the mechanic says it's a brilliant car it just goes on and on forever.. 😂
I have had mine for a few days now and so far I am happy with it. I bought the Shiro version, so it has a good spec but I am undecided about the black & white dashboard and side panels. The 1.2 engine is quite lively, and if you keep it in the optimum power band it whizzes along nicely. Handling isn't the cars strongest point, but then I use it in the city so isn't so much of an issue. I was originally concerned by the fact it is built in India, but the build quality appears to be okay so far.
@WheelieMacBin I am going to check out the car mabe by the end of the week. But would only consider the sat nav option, but surely there must be a 12v socket? Is there a usb that could be used to charge one's phone. Crazy really.

Fuel consumption: 5.8l/100km cvt auto mostly city, and I have a hard foot. Space in back is excellent and I am 183 cm and 108kg. The thing I really hate are the glove boxes. Are just useless. The top one should open the other way and you actually cannot see inside, and the down one if so small and feels cheap. Rest of the car is rock solid. Also they had only Ivory interior which I don't like. If I wanted black I had to wait 4 months.
the difference between the quality of materials itself and the quality of assembly. sometimes, cheap materialials could be fited well so it doesn't rattle etc.
it is fun to drive... but there are some issues, that I will share with you: *the brakes feel like an on off switch (no middle feeling) *the steering column is right next to your left foot, which is uncovered and you can touch with your feet (and feel as you steer) * sudden move can make the wheel feel hard (due to the electric motor) I suggest for fun a firmer car... but please take a test drive and pay attention to details. Fuel econ in town is about 4.9 on highway 5.2 (i have no idea why)
I got 2012 Auto CVT. 175 wheels give a very smooth ride even at 90mph on the motorway 👌 (so I was told) Service and parts are cheap. Getting 43 MPG city.
I suggest a firmer car because it have really soft suspension, but also is uncomfortable (you can feel every wave in the tarmac like a sport car). As I said in my first comment it needs firmer suspension setup. It will not spoil the comfort, because this is already spoiled.
.... I also liked VERY VERY much the single dial button control ... I curvy styled nice car ... I bet ladies will prefer it ... lots for a les 4000 mm lenght city car ...
The Micra does have climate control. But you have to specifically ask for climate control to keep the temperature, otherwise you just get standard, manual air conditioning. :)
at 02:10 he's saying: "look at this: you're waggling about and nothing really seams to happen" ... well I might say that my micra (maybe the steering wheel settings are different- on top version(tekna)) is quite pointy... that waggling he done there is enough to sudden change lanes. sorry for my english :)
The 1st & 2nd gen Micras were great; made in Japan with great design, reliability and value - I owned 2 of each. Great little cars. Then the asian currency crisis happened and Nissan got bought out by Fiat/Renault. As a result the 3rd Gen Micra was an abysmal ugly euro-box with door handles that slopped about and seats that felt like sitting on a cheap ikea sofa. Forum discussions by Nissan insiders confirmed that the main focus of the 3rd gen was cost reduction - and boy did it show. The real proof of the pudding was that the 3rd gen was never sold in Japan & Taiwan - they kept on selling the much better 2nd gen. The 4th gen shown here looks even worse. At least the new 5th gen looks a bit better.
i really like this car :) so cute and snuggly :3 this is definately going to be my 1st car... :) here in malta it is sold with the following as basics.. Driver's and passenger's airbag Curtain airbags Front power windows Power windows Air conditioning Side airbags ESP Remote central lock CD with bluetooth and AUX jack seems good to me :) not to mention, it's only round 8000 EUR :)
Wouldn't mind one to replace my Almera. The last point Matt makes about the lack of a 12v socket is interesting as I need one for my dashcam (unless I get it hard wired).
@donking2000000 - To be honest I never looked for a 12v socket as I have no need to charge a mobile phone on the move, or plug in a sat nav, as the version I have on order includes the built-in sat nav. Maybe there is a 'smokers pack' option that would include a socket? My main criteria when looking at a new car, I currently drive a 2011 Nissan Note diesel, was, reliability, build quality, equipment, fuel economy, general running costs, model longevity and insurance grouping.
Allow me to review Are you on gods waiting list and like to drive at 20mph everywhere? Do you like to annoy other road users and like being overtaken by pedestrians? Then the Nissan Micra is just what you need.
Ive got that spec and I DO have a 12v charge point..so there. I can agree with the handling, but all in all its not so bad since most of my 'high speed' crusing is done on the motorway. I like the climate control and the infrequent haul ups at the petrol pumps too. Good video though.
Nice car apart from the CVT gearbox manufacturing fault on them giving you just 30K miles before the gearbox fails - A new CVT gearbox costs £6000 and Nissan UK will not repair the fault causing the code to show up on the dash. I have disliked this video as you are clearly Pro Nissan UK when they are treating their customers appaulingly by not recalling this faulty CVT gearbox which people in the US have successfully sued them over. The worse thing about this situation is that Nissan UK know that all of these CVT Micras have encountered the problem after 30K miles and so the scrapyards are now full of them. Yet to be frank Nissan UK got away with it because no-one in the UK has the money to sue them for their design fault. Circuit B Transmission Fluid Pressure Sensor Fault, I actually paid Nissan UK £99 to diagnose their CVT gearbox fault and they said "the gearbox is broken and cannot be repaired".
