Hi Mr Khan. I attempted brake pads change today, & discovered that I had to turn that internal spline clockwise all the way in order to allow me to compress the piston. Regards.
Thank you for the video. I'm going to do my friend's Nissan brakes soon and was wondering if I need to get a rewinding tool. It is so nice that I can remove the motor and don't need any extra tool, just something to push the piston straight. Good to know. Thank you again!
I noticed your original pads had the metal back plates. The Bosch ones I’ve got to replace my worn ones don’t have them! Do I need to transfer that plate over from the old pads onto the new ones? Or are the new ones supplied without them because they don’t need them? Thank you
Good video very easy to follow…once you’ve changed brake pads on cars with electric hand brake do you need any sort of computer to reset any sensors etc does anyone know??
Rear brakes tend to be on a screw that the hand brake rotated to push the piston out so a "brake rewind tool" is best although I've managed a few with needle nose pliers and turning it by hand front ones just a G clamp pop the old brake pad in and clamp the piston back in tends to be faster just remember to not twist or pull on the flexible brake hose and dont pinch the rubber seal around the piston and you can't really go wrong if your unsure ask for help
HEEEELP. I did as you said, everything, poing by point, but my piston does NOT go back, no matter how hard I press. I unwinded the motor as you said, but nothing, seemes stuck. I think it is because the circuit is in pressure, what can i do?
@@diykhan no, i made it using a different tecnique mentio ed in anorher video, but i guess it is better if you to tell people how to disengage the handbrake first.....if you don't do it, it is impossible to remove the caliper
If you're replacing your own brake pads, chances are the vehicle is a few years old and the torx bolts on the motor will be corroded. This method wasn't possible for me. I found that applying 12v to the motor terminals was the only way to retract the handbrake.
Hi guys. I followed this amd worked a treat but i now have a parking light flashing on my 2017 quashqua. The handbreak works but doesnt automatically. What do you think has caused this? Thanks all
I’ve just done mine and now I’m getting a flashing handbrake light and can’t work out why that is. Any ideas? I’ve bleed the brakes just in case it was that and it’s still there.
There is video on you tube. After replacing brake pads. Flashing lights.its normal. But you need to do something. If find the video I will send you link
You can rewind the piston with top level diagnostic machine aswell. You go into the brake pad replacement or service option n thats where it gives you option to rewind or reverse the caliper pistons electronically. Good luck
