When my car says that the key is not detected, I put the fob to the starter button and the message goes away! I just happened to try it and have been doing it ever since. Soooo, yes it works for me and I many seen this video until now!

Glad that it works for you. However, it still would be a good idea to change to new battery for the key fob if you haven't done it already. "Key NoT Detected" should go away in most cases. Wish you have a good day!

Could be many things, such as something wrong with the car itself (or the battery like you said)

I am sorry to hear that didn't work. Try the followings: (1) if the battery that you put in is used or a new battery that's brought a long time ago, try to put in a new battery that you brought recently. (If this doesn't work, try 2) (2) You should have two key fobs, right? Try to start the car with a different key fob (call it key fob B). If it works, that means the key fob A is broken, go buy a new key fob. (If still doesn't work, move to 3) (3) At this point, you are sure that the replacement battery is good and both key fobs can not start the car. Right now, I highly suggest you to have a mechanic check your car, because at this point, there are many potential reasons for the car not starting, could be car battery, could be loose wires, could be anything. Unless you "know" cars, otherwise let a professional check it. I hope my advise helps you, Take care

Also, make sure that the key fob battery is the right type and is put in the right way, and not upside down.

O No.....is it possible to bring the car to Nissan Dealer and have them change the key fob signals? (He didn't lost both key fobs, right?)

That means the problem isn't caused by a low battery key fob. It could be the key fob is broken or some other problems in the car itself. Unless you are a mechanic, you should seek one for help.
