“ My Car won’t start, key fob battery is dead ” What do I do? No need to panic! 

If your vehicle says key not detected in your dash, it’s most likely because you need to replace the battery in your key fob.

Even though it's an easy fix it would still be helpful if you also had some sort of backup key ignition start. Give me a key start ignition any day.

I had this exact same problem but before changing the battery the key fob sometimes worked but right after changing it it stopped working completely. Is there some sort of reset I am supposed to do after changing the battery? The car does start using the method you explained first but I wonder what the issue is with the key fob. I have a question. I replaced the battery and the car locks and unlocks however I can no long remote start with the keyboard. I have a 2017 nissan altima with remote start and push start.

My key fob was stolen and I had to call a mobile locksmith to come to my house. He sold me a new key fob and programed it along with cutting the new key. The key fob was $500, plus cutting the new key was $35, plus his trip to my house was $75. He sold me a 5 button key fob when my car had a 4 button key fob. When he handed it to me I noticed immediately that it was not a 4 Button remote and he argued with that his handbook says that I had a 5 button remote. When I asked him if it was an aftermarket fob because I don't see a Nissan logo on it and I saw the knock offs on Amazon for $4. He got offended and said he only used genuine Nissan. After left and since then, my car will start, but I get a message saying iKey system error (wording not exact. I called the locksmith but he won't come back out. If it's a knock off remote with no Nissan logo, will my car start using your method?

Battery is dead in a 2011 Nissan Altima. The reg key that’s in the key fob worked a week ago to unlock the door but now will not turn to unlock it. Any ideas??

change the key fob batteries - did not help. Then discovered car battery was low - replaced car battery and the problem went away

However prior to me realizing that was the problem, I kept trying to start the car and it started to make repeated clicking sound and headlights started flashing really fast. I went to batteries plus, changed the battery in my key fob, now my car still won’t start. I found your your RU-vid video and followed your steps it still won’t start. Found my spare key but the battery was low in that key as well but not fully dead and that key won’t work either. It’s still doing the clicking thing and looks like my car battery is being drained with all this because my inside car light are very dim and windshield wipers move very slow. Any suggestions??? I changed the battery it started but I did not drive it. yet this morning when I press the break to start it the break was hard would not let me push it to start the car. What do I do. Great video !!!! But on mine I guess it didn’t work , it said no key detection , and when I press the lock button the horn is not as strong as it was it sounds faint and after a few more pushes I won’t even hear the horn locking no more , the computer screen won’t even turn on when I open the door and press the button, and when I try to turn it on the engine just clicks. Are all these effects all from a dead key fob ? It’s pretty strange since I’ve had the car since November and literally just used it going going home from work l. I take care of it to the max , what do you think it is, dead battery perhaps ?

Nah. Nissan make POS cars. Shouldn’t no one have to do all of that with a brand new ass car. No other dealer have this issue.
