Oh come on >.>... I've driven 300zx/350z/370z. Z cars are some of the easiest sports cars to drive, like a miata. Sounds like your 350z had a racing clutch or something. If you bought it used there's always a previous owner some kid who put a bunch of Ebay crap on it you got to replace... Either that or you're just not driving properly lol :/ the oem clutch is not difficult to engage...
Help! I lost my smaller helper spring that goes on top, shown at 3:44. Anyone have any idea where I can get a replacement? Or at least the name of what that spring is called?
I was saying the same but I recently checked the same seller’s other items and they have a dedicated spring for the 350z/g35 but I don’t know if someone could actually confirm to me that it actually works
Bonus free method, just use a heat torch on the spring that is in there for a couple seconds so that the spring loses some tension. Still returns all the way up, and feels instantly 1 million times better
Your videos are in the elite few that aren't following the same theme as most Z oriented channels. I dig it. You're not making videos all "look at my car for 20 minutes" with no real content. Keep it up. +1 sub from me.
Nissan specs play in the top inch of the pedal. Sorry, that's the way it's supposed to be. I assume this is to prevent idiots from always having the throwout bearing engaged.
There's an adjustment on the inside close to the firewall so you can make the clutch grab lower. It helps the clutch not grab so high Plus helps save the slave on over-extend as easily. When you push your clutch in on a 370Z it pushes the slave out way farther than it needs to.
things I build definitely interested in more info on this. You have pictures of video of where it is near the firewall. Need to bring to a shop or something can do yourself ?
My 350z clutch pedal is super stiff OMG! And the biggest issue is the clutch crab point is about a half an inch before letting out. The pedal travel is so long though cant stand it on hills
I've only driven a 370 a couple times and that rev match BS is what made me keep my 350. Didnt know you could turn it off. Because I do the rev matching, not my car. That's why I also hate traction control. Which I can disable pushing one button in the 350. Heard the 370 still interferes with VDC off....
Cant this cause more wear on your clutch if you lightly rest your foot on the clutch while driving? Also, wouldn't this make the clutch engagement slower since the spring isn't as strong?
Hey so I have a 09 infiniti g37s sedan it’s manual and I’m having a issue with my clutch it drains the brake fluid that’s connected with the clutch and I lifted my car and check in the engine bay and it seems dry so I don’t why it would be constantly draining the brake fluid
350z owners: replacing ours is IN NO WAY as easy as this video shows, this spring assembly is nigh on impossible to get at where it is and comes out of the fire wall perpendicular to it, not nicely pointed down at the floor. Nor is the spring the same spring, it’s this little stubby one that in no way matches the one listed in the description of this video. Guess I just continue to live with a super hard to press clutch pedal. 😕
milanmastracci I see, I wanted tomei too but z1 was like $300 less. And what I did was get a diffuser that doesn’t make it look too obvious that there’s a missing tip there, and I got a tow strap on the side where the tip is missing. It not that bad now imo. I’ve also heard that you can get custom diffusers made with only one exit
Right now I am having an issue I can’t figure out.. help? I bought a car with a new clutch. At the beginning. as I started letting out the petal from the floor, the clutch would grab hard. Didn’t have any issues other than a tick when I had the petal out and in N… When I’d press it in the noise went away.. the slave cylinder was bad so I replaced it and the master as well, bled them really well. And still had the tick and the petal would be slow to return all the way.. it would Pop back 60% of the way then slowly the rest of the way.. if you let your foot off the petal fast it basically comes up and then slaps the bottom of your foot.. now when I have clutch pressed in all the way I can’t get into 1st gear.. sometimes if i shift into 4th then try 1st it will work but it’s stiff.. once I get it into 1st gear I can come back to neutral and any other gear ( keep in mind car isn’t moving at all during all this. Just clutch in and manipulating the shifter.) but say i go back to neutral and let the clutch out all the way, then press it in again.. im back to square1 … can’t get into 1st gear.. stiff as a rock.. but I can sometimes get it into 4th and then 1st again after that.. any time I let the clutch out all the way in N I can’t get into 1st … side note when the cars not running I can go through all the gears .. clutch in and out doesn’t affect it.. only while running. Thanks for reading this ..
I will admit I immediately noticed my stock 370z clutch was very unforgiving but I guess I got use to it. Now the only time I notice is when behind the wheel of another manual.
I like the oem feel of the clutch pedal swing, engagement is perfect, and I'm not sure why most 370z owners have issue with what Nissan has engineered into your clutch pedal swing, The 370z are super easy to get accustomed to, and learn the engagement throws. I'll keep mine as is. Great video, you did a great job with your install, and I liked that you did not say: " umm" like most every one else. Great job. Good looking car.
I feel you! That's a great idea can I pay you to wrap certain parts of my car? Roof & diffuser? I fucked it up lol You can put it on video if you'd like :D
replaced clutch hard starting car feels like its in limp mode or valet put a washer under crank shaft check eng light on po335 crank sensor had enough driving me crazy
Now you need to do an RJM install. The install that on RU-vid right now is CRAP!! Do your install with the same lighting and narrative that you did on this install. Thank you.
I have a 2002 VQ35 Maxima with a 6 speed and over the course of 10 years I've had numerous throw out bearing failures. right now it's at 330,000 miles and I'm about to throw in a 2014 Maxima engine....
Spencer Stephens I have a G37 lowered with mags and never had anyone said anything. Which is good i guess. I prefer no attention. But i do get comments when i’m in my AW11 though
They ruined nissan reliability on regular vehicles, and mostly on europe versions. The american market has cars like the Altima or Maxima which still have a Nissan engine. While the European market has trashy cars like the leaf, juke, qashqai and much more models that have rebranded Renaults engines. Didn't even know us Nissan was owned by Renault too, thought it was a different company for the us market.
Yol Yep that's what I figured but was too lazy to check. I guess it's the same for the gtr, altima, maxima and other models that retain a nissan engine.
Yes your current set up it sounds so good, i have the top speed axle back as well on my car and i want to make it a bit louder so im curious to know how you like your set up with the test pipes combo, is there a bad smell of gas in the car, is it obnoxious driving, any drone, hows the exterior sound all that good stuff if you can that would be awesome:)
The infamous clutch pedal problem is not a stiff spring it's the fall or collapse of the clutch peddle. Which is the aftermarket chassis clutch assembly. I did headers long tube IRS headers for about 650.00 and cat back and a turbo kit and now sitting around 420whp at 8 psi with solid bushing kit through out the car. Now at 140 mph I dont get drifty on the front end. Good luck bud it's a lot of work
Hopefully u can help me out with my issue man . I have a g35 and at random times (mostly on a hot day or traffic) the clutch pedal feels like it’s sticking when coming towards me .. it never sticks to the point where I have to pull it back with my foot but it has a weird feel almost like a “clicking” feel . Do you think this would help? Slave cylinder master cylinder all brand new and fluids . Thanks !!
It's your master cylinder that's sticking the rod may need greasing or bleeding your master cylinder at the line just bleed all hydrolic clutch components but sounds like a bad master cylinder was it replaced when you installed your slave cylinder
I have bled the system 3 times replaced the slave as well. I adjusted the peddle 4 weeks ago and it’s been driving great .. until yesterday it showed up again 😡😡😡 losing my fucking patience lol
@@evanmavros1942 Replaced Master and Slave and no solution yet either man. Pedal went soft one time and now it wont engage at all. Starting to think that the pressure plate couldve failed
