Fun fact: In NFS Carbon, automatic gearbox limits car's RPM and speed for each gear. In manual gearbox you can raise your RPM to red zone, it allows to gain speed more efficiently and to reach highest max speed.
Миша Верхотуров thats how i play the game. I always play with manual transmission and shift very late. I invest tunning in acceleration and then i have a ton of fun.
It's the same sound that the 360's V8 makes. Either way it's stupid, and really quite annoying, especially since they did the same thing to both the rotary cars.
Carbon was final NFS game I played. I bought newer ones but only played couple hours and never touched em. They should bring back underground series and get rid of cheese story.
I remember in Carbon if you want to maintain the stock engine sound you had to upgrade the engine to Street and it would maintain the same sound in the PS3 i do not know if this works on the other versions
Ruslan Salimov yes but those games are 12 and 13 years old🙈, even with a new pentium g and an integrated graphics card they will reach at least 100 FPS ultra settings
If you guys wanted best sound for a r34 skyline just get GRID 2 or GRID AUTOSPORT both of these games have the sound from 2F2F which is the closest you can get to the iconic single turbo sound in real life
Never liked how U2 and Carbon was off from 2F2F. Once you finish 1st gear it goes from awwww to ooooo. 17 years and going of torture from not having an exact sound.
They recorded from a *stock, twin-turbo* Skyline GT-R R34 Though it could have been better if there were multiple sound nodes, like the IRL stock sound for Stock, and the 2F2F sound when maxed out.
Need for speed payback is a joke, it’s storyline is trash, it’s “action” is lame and it’s mechanics are a disgrace to any racing franchise. It’s upgrade system is like a goddam RPG, it’s map is fairly decent in some areas but nothing stands out and city’s lack human presence and the traffic is un immersive. Need for speed 2015 did some justice to carbon and underground but what I liked best was it’s physics and detailed mountain passes. Racing games like need for speed are trying to hard to be a movie, honestly all I need is a good driving experience and reasonable customization, like boi just add a full variety of colors to any average OEM part and add custom parts to all cars. Branded and fad specific aero parts are ok but just make it like midnight club did. I’m still waiting on toggle collision damage and mechanic damage and increased difficulty and stakes for any event. Games don’t really need a storyline as they could let every play choose what they are really racing for, for a good time, for money and to progress with their garage, or to be the best on the leaderboards. I’m sure anyone doesn’t give two shits if the most god awful generic protagonist wants to do. Some of the best games like midnight club barely had a storyline just a character with snarky trash talk facing of random people in LA to climb to the top, the gameplay made it special because you could always screw up last minute and you picked what you wanted to do not if the game wants you to win no matter what . Burnout paradise was another arcade with unlicensed cars that had no customization whatsoever but every car was unique, racing didn’t have much variety and honestly there to easy but when I was smaller the adrenaline in a race zipping in and out of traffic only to see a multi car collision ahead of you with the leaders, that was the highlights of the race because you couldn’t slow down, wreckage would fly all over the place and you would be on the edge of colliding with the out of control car or barely squeezing through the chaos. Nowadays those fast paced races was it it was too it, it didn’t need goddam explosions or scripted events or character development for shit. Just you behind the wheel thrown into everyday environments where the traffic was a blessing to outmaneuver your opponents or your demise as it jeopardizes your chances of making it out in one piece. It was only you and the car sliding through tight roads and alleyways, around wide intersections and every turn felt real and exciting as you could even miss the correct turn. There’s a lot more to this but for me racing games have almost become stagnant and unimaginative, this goes past the nostalgia but common sense. Even today things are changing where kids who have no clue about cars are crazed with drifting and jdm. I love jdm but it’s certain mystique has faded and even in games things don’t feel quite right anymore. This is mostly a rant with omitted details but like many people, I am dissatisfied with the money-making schemes and half hearted game development, it might take a long time to make these games but now it doesn’t feel that way. When was the last time you have seen a racing game blow up ( besides the flux of audiences) or a title truly become that racing game. Forza has gone on to make title past title of games and I play those too but like fifa and madden it seems like it’s nearly an updated version of the past and nearly every other game has struggled or fallen short of what was expected. That’s it for me I’m done.
