At 14:28 you also had a view of the abandoned gardens that villagers would till to grow vegetables. The would make step gardens on the mountain sides like in SE Asian and Vietnam. This is where my grand father originally came from, and you folks first gave me a tour of the island :) Thank you.

Thank you again for another gem of a report. We were on Nisyros from the 31. July to the 2. August 2021, which must be the peak season. The partial Covid-restrictions may have had an influence, but after 5 PM even Mandraki was more or less deserted, and we had solitary dinners there. Looking forward to meet you on Symi.

The spoon sweet (that's what we call them) looked like sweet green walnut. Spoon sweets basically involve boiling something in syrupy water, though depending on what it is, it can be a more time consuming process in order to get rid of the bitterness, like for example with green walnuts or bergamots.

I enjoy your videos very much and I’m happy that you seem to have a good time in my country! I love all the little details that you add in your videos and I appreciate your efforts to explore every inch of the places that you visit. This is why I will advice you to start visiting the 2nd largest Greek island that is called Evia. This is an underestimated gem that not so many tourists, even Greeks, know about. You can visit Evia by boat or even by car since it’s connected with Greece mainland via a bridge in Chalkida. Evia is the 6th largest island in the Mediterranean Sea. It has large mountains (Dirfi at 1,743m), forests, canyons, waterfalls, majestic views, castles, small villages, beautiful beaches, caves, monasteries and many places to explore that you cannot cover in just one visit, believe me! Evia also has a significant ancient history. Western civilization alphabet originates from that island. Settlers from Evia went to Italy and created major cities influencing the locals. You can search and find many more info if you are interested. Keep going you two and have fun :)

In the peak summer months there are more tourists - especially French. As I know from the locals, Swiss have bought many houses on the island (including in Emborios) and restore them as their summer houses

l have been several times in that vulcanic small island by boat when l was chartering and anchored in Mandraki , Palio is very shallow for big sailing boats . Never visit the villages. Thank you for this lovely video .

I hope you all don't mind my giving this observation but here it goes: While Carol of course appears as healthy and beautiful as ever, I've noticed in the last few months that Chris himself seems to have obtained a healthier glow and more noticeable muscle tone so I hope that this means that his health overall health has improved from a few years back when he had digestive issues (that he mentioned). Regardless, you two definitely seem to be having more fun in making these videos than before and I appreciate you sharing these gorgeous destinations with us! Thanks!

Hey there, yes Chris' health has been way better since he started intermittent fasting. He normally skips breakfast and eats 2 big meals within a 6-8 hour window now and its made him feel pretty much back to normal again. i guess the extended time with no digestion happening is allowing some healing to be done :D Also since Chris is feeling better its given him some extra energy to be able to go to the gym so he's gained a bit of muscle also

In mythology Nisyros was created when Poseidon was chasing a Giant and when he reached Kos island he cut a piece of Kos and threw it to defeat the Giant

Recently returned from a 3wks holiday of Kos our 2nd week òf our holiday were 5dys on Nisyros. We love the island base ourselves at the the Romanza Hotel brilliant accomadation and breakfasts to set you up for the day. And in the evening the island comes alive, can't wait to return next year. ❤

Fantastic video Chris and Carolina. I loved the stone work of that abandoned hotel...what a shame and the abandoned village with the archways. It's so sad to see what earthquakes do to those lovely little villages. Those chips you had Chris looked really fresh and tasty. It would've been very funny if a busload of people arrived at that beach when you were nude sunbathing haha.I've never seen so many goats in all my life. Very nice video Yes the desert is sweet spoon fig .Mst of fruits we cook with sugar and we call them spon sweets .Its a tradition.They last long and you have always something to offert to visitors.

Very nice sound track on this video--so chill! I like that you do the "off the beaten path" islands. I was in Greece the summer of 2021--started in Athens and of course I had to do Santorini, but my favorite was the island of Paros! It is the perfect blend of touristy and low key! If you guys make it there, you should definitely do a boat tour in Naoussa [the smaller town, popular with the yachting folks] There is a brother and sister team [and the name begins with a P...sorry have searched and I can't find it] they take out small groups and when I went there was an influencer couple from Romania. The capital town of Parikia is lovely and small but offers a lot of restaurants, lodging and shopping! Nice video!

I’ve been to Nissyros in August. It’s not as empty as in your videos, definitely not as busy as the other more well known Dodecanese islands like Kos and Rhodes. For example, Lindos at the time you were there, is still busier than Nissyros in August.

There are usually always stores in the port villages selling the tickets, they will have the ferry signs in front. You can also check sites like ferry scanner which are good because they show numerous different ferry companies that are running.

the island seems like an ideal place for vacation, the beach is unfortunately empty, I guess there are not many tourists. Wine and sunset, is there anything better to end the day.
