@@CurtisCoxCLCphotography It sure was. I've utilized an EC11 for nearly a decade, hesitant while contemplating a switch to a built-in battery light. The 33's size, power, and portability swayed me over the 35. However, I'm still skeptical about a complete replacement for my faithful EC11, given its red light function, unless the 33's low white is exceptionally dim (important in my line of work).
Thank you for the comment. I didn’t show all of the lower settings because for me, most of the time they work fine and i use either the low settings or the high settings, and seldom the in between. I don’t worry about the built in battery. It will probably last long enough. I didn’t mention that my 33 quit after about 2 weeks, in expected, so I sent it back to Nitecore and they sent me a new one. Don’t know why it quit, they didn’t say. Thanks again
@@CurtisCoxCLCphotography I had 2 Nitecore EC11s stop working, mostly due to the electronics frying. My last one lasted almost a decade of daily use (replaceable battery). Im sure the 33 will last long enough, I'll probably lose it before it needs replacing. I received mine!! The low/lunar is important for me, and my only gripes so far are: 1) there is no dedicated low power switch or a way to trigger it regardless of the last setting and 2) it is way too easy to go from off to search/spotter instead of on/low. This may be a deal breaker for me, but time will tell. Also, not that important, but my Lumin setting will not stay on longer than a few seconds due to overheat.
The only problem with these is the batteries are built in. Once the battery wont hold a charge the whole light is done. I’m sure it will last several years but I’d rather be able to throw in a new battery when I want to when performance drops after a few years. I have several P23i and 2 P35i. Nightcore does make top notch equipment. Their power banks are great too.
It’s odd to not let u change battery. They have 3 year warranty. But after 3. It would be nice. Now not sure of sofrin warranty. It’s really vague. But it half price
I am so upset, i just received the edc 35 today. I had it on in low mode and slid the lock out button on and the light flashed then went out. It will not turn back on. I am so disappointed. Its a good thing this wasnt a life or death situation.
@@MrWiggenhammer i am pretty sure it was just a defective light. Their customer service was great. They sent me the return label and as soon as I mailed the defective to them, they sent my replacement the same day I sent the first one back. Patiently awaiting the replacement to get here.
I thought that only foolish whippersnappers bought flashlights without replaceable batteries. That is a huge con that outweighs all of the pros to these flashlights. Replaceable batteries have been the industry standard for decades for very good reason. It is not ok that we have unethical people trying to change that and it damages the industry as a whole when we support it.
