Yes especially in delhi where daily commute for many people can be 50-80 km in heavy traffic leading to a fuel efficiency of 7-8kmpl only. Some people travel pune-mumbai daily approx 260km on expressway per day.

Storing the Hydrogen safely in the Vehicle was not the issue it was storing hydrogen for re-fueling that had the biggest problem to overcome.

Hydrogen will never fail to show up its poor energy density per unit volume, light weight, small molecule size, 3.42 times higher specific heat capacity than that of cooling water, real gas behavior and Joule Thomson temperature of as low as 200K. Methane only is the richest source of Hydrogen and 96% of commercial production of Hydrogen comes from Methane reformers only and continue to do so even in future. Water is a very poor source of Hydrogen with just 11.11% mass content of Hydrogen in it. But water is precious for quenching thirst of life, conserving aquatic life, giving income to fishing profession, satisfying hunger of nonvegans with food like fish, fighting fires, irrigating vegan food farms, shipping goods and passengers, these applications have much higher priority than making hydrogen to run vehicles. India has to become load shedding free where each tax and bill paying resident of India has to get 24 hours of electricity to run refrigerator, EV battery recharging and water splitting must not be done at the expense of making people face load shedding. Minimize need to travel by maximizing online tasking, use walking to travel small distances like 1-2km, use bicycle to travel upto 10km like how Dutch people are using in Netherlands, minimize traffic jams, ensure that all 4 seats of a car in travel are occupied by passengers or equivalent weight, ensure passenger spaces and goods storage space of each vehicle are fully occupied by passengers and goods or luggage respectively. Recycle water and mined ores. India has big scope to optimize number of vehicles to be operated as well as manufactured. Carbon capture is a scam, each human body has on an average 18.5%Carbon by mass yet current human population of Earth has crossed over 800 crores mark and shows no sign of decreasing. Humans only travel unwantedly with vehicles, eat rice, need ruminants, use electricity-plastic-Helium-petrichemicals-organic medicines, smoke flue cured tobacco cigars which needs cutting down trees, use resources lavishly forgetting CO2 at the time of doing such actions. Making a vehicle needs aluminium, iron and steel, rubber, glass, plastic, lot of water too. Vehicle making is now the major consumer of aluminium and aluminium smelter needs huge amount of power. Right now EVs, FCVs, ethanol vehicles are being introduced not for saving energy but for helping the crooked entities of energy commodity cartels like OPEC ot GECF or others that dictate price vs supply of these commodities, the speculative brokers on commodity future exchanges, fuel tax and vehicle registration charge collectors, parking charge and road toll collectors, vehicle loan interest collectors, vehicle insurance premium collectors, traffic rule violation fine or bribe collectors, the real estate developers who build parking lots and sell or rent them at heavy price, etc. Never buy a vehicle for gain of each of above crooked entities. They happily pay petrol tax but try hard not to pay income tax, they will use car to travel only 1km, travel alone in a 4 seater car keeping other 3 seats empty conveniently forgetting about CO2 at those times. When waters starts to be used for making hydrogen fuel, price of water and of all applications that use water will go on rising, water will be taxed by governments just like how it taxes petrol, diesel, aviationfuel and ethanol. People will fight war to grab water. Food will become expensive. When land area assets start getting blocked with poor surface power density cum intermittent sources like solar and wind, housing and vegan food that comes from land farms will become more expensive, the homeless living in Skid Row or Dharavi only know true value of land or roof or water area- they will kill the one who tells them land area is going to be blocked with solar panels or wind mills instead of providing a house to them. NG is a politician whose main job is to protect interest of the financers of his party and to ensure that population of his vote bank keeps on rising. Indian government is not serious about population control because population is size of vote bank as well as size of demand for energy or any commodity that can be wickedly exploited by commodity cartels like OPEC or others. India does not need FCVs, EVs, Ethanol vehicles. Wish the Indian people think wisely like the people in Netherlands and other European nations. Indians must not vote for a minister who takes no steps to make India load shedding free or to run each refrigerator in India 24 hours per day but instead wants to use electricity to split water, to run aluminiun smelters and to recharge EV battery. Do not allow water splitting when many people in India do not get regular supply of drinking water.

Not just safety, inefficiency also. 1kg H2 itself takes 50kWh electricity to travel 100km. Same 50kWh electricity in mg zs ev gives 360km range. H2 is only good for trucks and bus not for cars. Too little boot space like cng, same performance as cng, and risk of blast like hindenburg. On top of that, buyer will only buy it if it is cheap, 50lakh ioniq 5 gives 500km range and 18min charging time while costing ₹1/km to drive. Whereas mirai costs $70K or ~70lakh for same 500km range but you cant fill it anywhere. He is politician, people will come to his home to give him H2 for free, in USA h2 sells for $36/kg ie almost ₹20,000 for full tank of 500km range vs EV costing just ₹500
