Thanks for sharing your story, mate. I thoroughly enjoy being guitar buddy's with you 😍It's so nice to have a friend who shares the same "addiction" 😬... and plays at the same level, although you have surpassed me on that point 🤘 I think it's great you have found Chapman guitars as your sweet-spot. It's SO important to have guitars you love, and want to pick up and enjoy playing 🤘 Thank you for the shout out, my friend ☺
Bless you Carsten, been great meeting you too and sharing our joy 🤩. I do t agree though, you’re far superior in guitar to me 😃. It really is important to want to pick up the guitar so yes, glad I found chapmans. Look forward to your next awesome cover 🫶🏻
Hi Rich, main thing is to continue doing what floats your boat. If you like a dabble and some new kit to try, if you enjoy it that’s the main thing, so be it. 👍
You've got GAS Rich, but then so do I and many of your viewers lol. I just bought 5 last night and a bunch of gear to help a friend out, and now it's 22 in stock lol. And Im hoping to find a Chapman locally one day. We need help lol. Interesting story Richard. Thanks for sharing!
I always feel like you’re a good friend just having a warm chat and always doing something interesting ! Thanks for being an honest and interesting friend to all of us Rich !
Amazing mate. Thanks for posting :) I’m glad your dad being a prize bellend didn’t put you off guitar playing. I started playing guitar at the age of around 11/12 mainly with punk, goth and psychedelia/prog music. I realised after a few years that I was not bad at guitar and played in a few bands in my teens but that I enjoyed playing bass a lot more and that’s where my passion lay just like my dad had done for years in his bands through the 80’s/90’s. My music taste changed significantly and I started getting into a music genre called Midwest Emo and I dabbled in a few bands creating original songs until about 6 years ago when I had significant health problems at the age of 23. I don’t gig anymore but I post regular covers on my Facebook and I get more out of doing that than I ever did gigging :) I’m also a fellow gear man but unfortunately I’m a hoarder too so I have a sizeable recording/gear room 🤔😂
Thanks for sharing! Hoarding is not a problem for me lol, I don’t get attached to many things, they come and they go! Would have loved to play in a band but that ship has sailed…
@@thenovicenoisemaker it’s never too late to find some people to jam with :D where I live in Staffordshire it’s unfortunately slim pickings on people who are into the same stuff as me but there are always jam nights out there
Nice one Richard as a novice noise maker myself i enhoy your vids and also addicted to buying and swapping to try to find sweet spots. Its a lot of fun. Nice story good for you.
@@thenovicenoisemaker Current count is 15... it's like collecting wine. But the guitars I really like in the collection are: HB CST-24 (Cherry Red Deluxe) Fazley Phynica 920 (Prob my favourite guitar) Jet JS-450 (Roasted Maple - best neck in collection) Ibanez rgix6fdlb - Best neck high up the fretboard for doing solos very badly lol LTD EC-10 heavily modified ... original run with all gold, locking tuners, roller bridge, p90s under the gold... I had a more recent EC-10 and this first run absolultely destroys it in quality (mods or not). Also a Modded Pacifica, few Squiers (had 5 - 3 were poor, 2 very good), a nice Cort Junior...HB ST-20 active, a Jet Tele.. and some others I forgot about probably lol. Would love a CST-24 P90 or even that tree of life semi hollow CST-24 or maybe a HB LP style (got some of those in my sights!). Only thing is the LTD LP style dig into my rib while sitting and playing so I would need to try a few LP out to see if that's just the LTD or all LPs. The cort is a Junior style and doesn't dig in - I think because it lacks a cutaway where it touches ribs. So on the LTD it's like the cutaway actually does the opposite of helping. So I just hold it in a different position. Thanks for reply dude :)
@plmcreative nice!! I’ve had a few of those include a P90 CST in ocean flame, nice guitar! Should be on a playlist. Keep on collecting! Thanks for taking the time
Thanks for sharing Rich! I don't wat to sound like an internet psychologist or anything, but have you ever wondered why you have this impulsive nature? I myself have similar impulses and short attention span and a little while ago, a good friend of mine gently forwarded me info about ADHD. It was a real eye opener for me 😂. Im not on meds and stuff, but I know where to find tips and tricks that are very helpful for me in my day to day business. Again im not trying to diagnose you or anything, but I just see some familiar things 😊. Hope I didnt offend you! Cheers 🎸🎸🎸
Do you know what Rich? While I was watching this I got a phone call from the hospital, asking if I'd like to take a cancellation for my op....new shoulder next Friday!😁Lots of physio to come but there's finally a bit of hope I'll be annoying the neighbours again sometime soon😂😂🎸🔊🎼🎵🎶
Hey, brother! Interesting to hear about you. Love your whole story and this is very interesting about your dad! Thanks mate. All the very best and look forward to your next video 🤗...One thing I'd like to ask, though, if I may: Do you think the buying and selling is more important than playing to you, or, the other way around? Cheers mate! ps, just out of interest; I don't usually hold much stock in this, but I'll ask anyway. What star sign are you? Fookin weird, eh. All the best!
Sounds like you need some external pressure to motivate your guitar playing to stay on a target, such as a a band practice or an open mike night where there is a deadline and you need to have something up to a good standard.
Hey Rich, thanks for sharing (long term follower here), as I’ve said before I have the same challenges as you in learning and general attention span issues… as it turns out I’m pretty sure I have ADHD, maybe you do too?
