That NLAW is truly impressive! Looks kinda like a javelin with a removable FCU and BCU. I appreciate the direct attack mode, making it a multipurpose weapon.
@@matthewjacobs141 Not bad... Canadas looking to replace their ATGMS. The runner uppers are the Israeli spike. American Javelin, or this thing. Anyone know the advantages of each platform? And what would best suit Canadas needs?
This is actually a little combat arms demo showing us a "platoon" of troops organized to deal with armored vehicles and their supporting infantry. They work together to provide cover for the heavy weapons operators. Once the heavy armor munitions are expended they change jobs.
what they did is not a big deal, even a kid can do it. I m 100% they knew the place they need to it and the mortars settings to hit those targets. Its much more complicated in the real combat to hit a target like that.
@@robinfrenzy It has a sensor on its underside that detects the tank and triggers the warhead. And top attack has the advantage that the roof armor on tanks is much thinner than the armor that faces direct enemy fire.
I would not want to fight with Danes. Not that I have anything against the Danes, they are awesome, but dear lord I do not understand what they are saying...
Are they not Danes? lol I see them sporting Canadian C8s, HK G3s and the mortar team had a danish tag. Was this a demo of NLAW for the danish armed forces? The carl gustav was still the star of the show

When he walked into that building….. I said “well, natural selection At work I guess.” Then I almost shit myself when he fired a javelin from inside a building and lived. Advances in Technology never cease to amaze me.
I'm pretty sure that the Russians would be shooting back. That being said, I haven't noticed any animosity in contemporary geopolitics between Russia and the Nordic countries and they would probably seek neutrality.
NLAW was born in Sweden, and so was Iryna grandduchess of Kyiv-Rus. Iryna/Ingegerd and her siblings grew up in Husaby, not far from NE of Skara, where Bodil in ex music group #timoteij came from in Västergötland. Bodil Bergström is a probable late descendant to Iryna. #timoteij #Ukraine
You can tell how outstanding is sound. they have hired professional audio team. You can hear all bullet shots.. All explosions clear... Good job audio team. Vitko Music.
Probably a type of gated proximity fuse, like other Bofors proximity fuses. It doesn't start detecting until it's a few feet from the tank, and reckons the range and position of the tank from the speed of the gunner's movement while tracking the target.

This is supposed to be about the NLAW, but I'm pretty sure the Carl Gustav steals the show.... Also, is that Jamsheed sniping with a Mortar now? Holy hell. Talk about skills
look at det video "SAAB Bofors Weapon MBT LAW Anti-Tank" go to 4,30 for top armor penetration, the entry hole is the size of a coin, but it kills every thing inside the tank
Well to my knowledge NLAW is meant to be a disposable easy to use anti tank gun and unlike javelin it isn't reloadable so there's no use to put too complicated guidance hardware on it, need be it can be fired at direct attack mode too. I would compare it to apilas or at4 with an added bonus of guidance & enclosed space capabilities. Just fills one role, armies have other weapons like eurospike for different purpouses.
@@IcyBune that raises the cost, which was the whole point of the joint venture to develop it. UK has the javelin already then they thought about looking at filling the gap.
2:48 so what does it do in this case ? It doesn't penetrate anything .... does the explosion peel off metal inside the tank creating shrapnel that kills the crew ?
Does the base point of the reticle have too touch the turret of the tank for the warhead too explode above? What if he aimed the point of the reticle above the turret, having space between the reticle and the turret? Does the warhead adjust or just completely miss? A very cool weapon as why I’m asking
WTF!!!! Russia's tanks and armored vehicles will gonna be sitting ducks against Ukraine! lol! I like how organized they are and how each of the weapons were used to support each of the other.
Why does the tank seem to be pretty much unharmed by the NLAW? Also, how is it supposed to penetrate the armor if it only flies over and explodes, rather than aiming downwards to direct the energy into the tank?
The warhead in the missile is pointed downwards, in overflies the tank, initiates the warhead and that penetrates the thinner top armour of most armoured vehicles, all the energy is put into damage inside the tank, killing crew members and/or igniting ammunition inside the tank, if the top of the turret is penetrated the tank is dead
If you shoot too close to the window, you will be shot. Training is not practical. And for a 60mm mortar, the target should not be visible to the shooter like that. It's too easy to hit. Because the actual battlefield operation is done outside the enemy's line of sight. The gunner or observer must shoot while observing the impact area. My unit also showed the same shooting demonstration whenever a senior commander came. It's a really formal show.
