It is mainly freight at Cock Lane and Lincoln Road for the first half of this month, although we do see three rail charters at the end of the video on their outward journeys, all in the space of forty minutes at Cock Lane on a very blustery Saturday 15th.
The main objective was to capture 6L55 which runs on a Tuesday and Thursday at 21.20pm before the dark nights make it impossible to see it. Out of the three times I did see it, on the last two occasions it was virtually dark but with a little exposure compensation a couple of reasonable clips materialised. This train is actually two in one, although the first clip of it there was only one. The front portion is the empty scrap steel 6D06 Scunthorpe to Doncaster Belmont Yard. The rear portion is the empty refuse waste 6L55 Tinsley to Barking/Ripple Lane. 6L55 couples up behind 6D06 at Doncaster Belmont Yard and then the whole ensemble runs as 6L55.

Thank you for your feedback Nicky. I must admit they do add something even though it is a lot more work when compiling the video.

What a great video Mick. Lots of freight action. Its good to see 69s on the Whitemoor-Toton trippers as that brings more variety to the freight scene. Nice one catching the new flow from Rylstone as well. Thanks for sharing Mick. All the best. Ben

Thank you Ben for the nice comments. Nearly missed the Rylstone, I had packed up ready for home when the chap I was with reminded me it was coming, not too bad a clip considering it was nearly dark. Caught 69004 last night on the Toton to Whitemoor, quite a nice livery on that.

@werringtonjunction yes I heard 69004 rumble pass the office yesterday on 6M15. The driver on it was one of Toton's finest and always gives the office a good whistle. It certainly is a great livery on that loco as well.

It's Peterborough Graham, about three miles south of here.

Great video, of the three footbridges (Hurn, the ind park etc) are they connected by footpaths or is it just a short walk. Thanks for any info.
@werringtonjunction
@werringtonjunction Год назад
The bridges are all accessible by footpath but it is quite a walk. Here is a link to a map www.openstreetmap.org/#map=15/52.6122/-0.2795 The large green bridge is at Cock Lane, footpath off Helmdale Gardens. From the green bridge to Lincoln Road bridge, off Davids Close to the north, it is probably just over a mile. Lincoln Road bridge to Hurn Road bridge about a third of a mile. To give you some idea of scale, the signals just south of the green bridge at Cock Lane are at milepost 79 on the railway, Hurn Road bridge is at milepost 80. If you use google maps you can plan the routes. www.google.com/maps/dir/52.6098293,-0.2825066/52.6218853,-0.2906264/@52.6166991,-0.2877327,15.58z/data=!4m9!4m8!1m5!3m4!1m2!1d-0.2794801!2d52.6124907!3s0x4877f14dc198c019:0x8a3c2bceefbf6431!1m0!3e2?authuser=0&entry=ttu

@@peterlittle6651 The most action you will see is from Cock Lane bridge compared to all the others, bring a stool or small pair of steps. The side plating across the bridge span is 1.8m high. There is also a bit of shelter on the east side where the ramps overlap should it be wet and the sides here are only 1.5m high. For even more action Peterborough station is very good as you get the East Anglian, Thames Link and Great Northern services.

Don't you mean Dukesmead, it use to be called Cock footpath when there was a public foot crossing but this was closed around 1985 due to persistant trespassing off the crossing. Thanks for posting this video. Has Werrington junction been relaid recently?
@werringtonjunction
@werringtonjunction Год назад
No, Dukesmead is the mobile home park adjacent to Cock Lane. The white cottages at the Cock Inn corner, before the building of the Carron Drive estate was Cock Lane and the footpath that extended from there across the fields to Marholm was known as Cock Lane footpath. The foot crossing was closed when electrification of the East Coast mainline was installed to be replaced with a box bridge. The footpath from Carron Drive and the new bridge is still known and referred to by us locals as Cock Lane. Werrington Junction had a makeover in November 2022, there are a couple of videos on my channel. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TqJMQ_hmOGc.html Thank you for watching and commenting Tulyar.
