GBRf always seem to take a pride in their loco's, different liveries, good naming etc. Whatever you do, don't let Falcon out in the evening when that Peterborough to Basford Hall sand blaster passes the 6L15 Toton to Whitemoor as it will ruin the new paint. Before you were born I used to watch the original Falcon on the GN&GE Joint with unfitted coal trains to Whitemoor, Lion and Kestral also put in a few stints on those as well. I have seen Falcon 2 on RU-vid, it looks very nice, especially the crest. Some people are saying the paint looks too glossy where the original was more matt, although I cannot remember, the original may have been glossy and it was all that coal dust that toned it down.🤔 Whatever, it is a welcome addition from GBRf and I look forward to seeing it soon.

Of the two slow lines which split away from each other either side of the dive-under lines, only the down line appears to be electrified and not the up. Can you explain the reason for this, please, because these two tracks appear to be going to and coming from the same places, ie, serving the same route? Thanks on this technical point, which is not spoiling my viewing of this highly watchable episode!
The split which is Marholm Junction was created when the dive under was built. The alignment of the two centre lines of the dive under was the original alignment of the Midland Railway line from Peterborough East station (on the Peterborough to Ely line) to Stamford. Oakham, Melton Mowbray, etc. The building of the dive under on the alignment of those lines made it necessary to put the Stamford lines either side of it. Way before all of that, the East Coast Main Line from Werrington Junction to Peterborough used to have five lines going south instead of the three that are there now and going north from Werrington Junction there were four, up and down main and up and down slow. Re-modelling of Werrington Junction over the years have seen the five lines going south reduced to the three we see today and the down slow removed as far as Helpston Junction about two miles to the north. After the removal of the ECML down slow, the down Stamford line then doubled up as the ECML down slow from Peterborough to Helpston Junction where it re-joined the ECML to create the original four track ECML going north. The electrification of the Down Stamford/Down ECML Slow to Helpston Junction which you enquire about was done in the late 1980's. The Stamford Line towards Melton Mowbray is not electrified hence why there is not OHE on the Up Stamford Line. I therefore watched it again and this time saw the point where the down slow leaves to go back to the ECML, taking the wires with it. The up slow ECML is therefore on the far left/East side, looking South, of the whole formation in your WJ videos. I'll see more every time I watch! Thanks again and all the best. Mike
@@mikeuk4130 I'm glad you have worked it all out Mike. It has always been a busy and interesting area around Werrington Junction. In Don's video, from Helpston towards Peterborough, the first overbridge (silvery grey colour) you see is Hurn Road footbridge where I do some videos from. That used to be a road crossing with manually worked gates and the original lattice footbridge only spanned the ECML, the steps coming down on the west side between the ECML and Stamford Lines so you had to walk across the Stamford Lines. Another bit of info, Werrington water troughs in steam days where on the ECML up and down fast between Hurn Road and Werrington Junction, the treatment plant being adjacent to the Joint/ECML about where the northern entrance to the dive under is.

They run during the hours of darkness in this area David, usually via the ECML to Peterborough Yard then leave there early morning to go south. Occasionally the empties may return via the ECML to Doncaster rather than the Joint Line.
I've watched all of your video's since 2019 and really enjoyed them. I live in the USA and it's neat to see how trains in England work and how the maintenance crews rebuilt the junction! Very interesting

Hurn Road over-bridge ( from above and at ground level)still as good as anywhere as a platform for recording .Some strange consists/rakes this time . Farmer's spray boom as big as any I have seen in the US -- see Triple R Farms in Alabama -- but level ground is essential if the boom ends are not to touch the ground. The industrial site to the south of the over-bridge seems relatively inactive at a distance. Sorry to see the 91s slowly giving way to 'trams'. Birds seem strangely quiet for springtime ! TC
I like Hurn Road too, it's good for seeing things at a distance and it doesn't bounce up and down like the large green bridge at Cock Lane when trains pass. Still plenty of birds around although they may have been put off by the spraying, even I could taste it. I do watch a lot of farming videos on YT from both the US and UK. Having been brought up on a farm that way of life and interest never leaves you. Obviously it is far more sophisticated now with those large machines and electronic technology, no more pacing a field out and marking it with twigs from the hedgerow so you could plough it out evenly.😀 They are still working on the Lloyds Banking building, it is nowhere near finished yet. Hopefully the 91's will still be around until next year. Thank you for the comments Tom.

I am ok Ben thank you, I did have a pulled calf muscle for about three weeks after the end of February which curtailed me going out where I had to walk. Anywhere I could get to on my bike and just fall off it then start videoing was fine😆, hence a lot of previous video from the footbridge at Cock Lane. Not sure about any 175's operating around this area before. What a journey they had though to get to Ely; Swansea-Cardiff-Swindon-Reading-Ealing Broadway-Willesden-Watford-Bletchley-Northampton-Rugby-Nuneaton-Leicester-Melton Mowbray-Oakham-Peterborough-Ely, nearly twelve hours and goodness knows what the mileage must have been. Surely Swansea-Cardiff-Newport-Gloucester-Birmingham-Leicester-Peterborough would have been more direct? I will be looking forward to seeing some new videos from your channel, it seems a long time since you went off to Toton, hope things are working out for you.

I needed to know why they don’t dig a tunnel and do an extension for the main line Train so that they can extend the unused abandoned underground train stations. Why couldn’t they use the part D78 Stock train doors on the sides and also restructure the front face of the A60 and A62 stock that includes the class 313, class 314 and class 315 remix and make them all together and also redesign them an overhead line and also make them into Five cars per units and also having three Disabled Toilets on those Five cars per units A60 and A62 stock trains and also convert the A60 and A62 stock trains into a Scania N112, Volvo B10M, Gardner 6LXB, Gardner 6LXC and Gardner 8LXB Diesel Engines and also put the Loud 7-Speed Voith Gearboxes even Loud 8-Speed Leyland Hydra cyclic Gearboxes in the A60 and A62 stock, class 313, class 314, and class 315 and also modernise the A60 and A62 stock and make it into an 11 car per unit so it could have fewer doors, more tables, computers and mobile phone chargers. A Stock Trains and also having 8 Disabled Toilets on those A stock trains. why couldn’t we refurbish and modernise the Waterloo and city line Triple-Track train tunnel and make it larger and extend it to the bank station, making it into a Triple-Track Railway Line so those Five countries such as Australia, Germany, Italy, Poland And Sweden to convert the waterloo and city line Triple-Track Railway tunnel into a High-Speed Railway lines? The Third Euro tunnel Triple-Track Railway line to make it 11 times better for passengers so they could go from A to B. Then put the modernised 11 car per unit A Stock and put them on a bigger modernised Waterloo and city line Triple-Track train tunnel so it could go to bank station to those Five countries such as Australia, Germany, Italy, Poland And Sweden. The modernised refurbished 11 cars per unit A stock could be a High Speed The Third Triple-Track Euro Tunnel Train So it is promising and 47 times a lot more possible to do this kind of project if that will be OK for London Australia, Germany, Italy, Poland And Sweden. oh by the way, could they also tunnel the Triple-Track Railway Line so it will stop from Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Essex so that the Passengers will go to Australia, Germany, Italy, Poland and Sweden and also extend the Triple-Track Railway Line from the Bank to Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Essex Stations so that more people from there could go to Australia, Germany, Italy, Poland And Sweden more Easily. Why couldn't they extend the Piccadilly Line and also build brand-new underground train stations so it could go even further right up to Clapton, Wood Street can they also make another brand new underground train station in Chingford and could they extend the Piccadilly Line and the DLR right up to Chingford? Could you also convert all of the 1973 stock trains into an air-conditioned maximum speed 78 km/hours (48 MPH) re-refurbished and make it into a 8 cars per unit if that will be alright, and also extend all of the Piccadilly train stations to make more space for all of the extended 8 car per unit 1973 stock air condition trains and can you also build another Mayflower and Tornado Steam Locomotive Companies and can they order Every 77 Octagon and Every 47 Hexagon shape LNER diagram unique small no.13, unique small no.11 and unique small no.10 Boilers from those Countries such as Greece, Italy, Poland, and Sweden, can they make Mayflower and Tornado Steam Locomotive speeds by up to 147MPH so you can try and test it on the Original Mainline so it will be much more safer for the Passengers to enjoy the 147MPH speed Limit only for HS2 and Channel Tunnel mainline services, if they needed 16 Carriages Per units, can they use those class 55’s, class 44’s, class 40’s and class 43HST Diesel Locomotive’s right at the Back of those 18 Carriages Per Units so they can take over at the Back to let those Mayflower and Tornado Steam Locomotive’s have a rest for those interesting Journeys Please!!!!!!, oh can you make all of those Coal Boxes’s 18 Tonnes for all of those 147MPH Mayflower and Tornado Steam Locomotive’s so the Companies will Understand us PASSENGER’S!! so please make sure that the Builders can do as they are told!!!!! And Please do something about these very very important Professional ideas Please? It is a well known and liked landmark Nicky. I do hope it gets sympathetically refurbished very soon. There is a planning application to make it into flats but I am unsure if that is the right thing to do with it.
New? that signal was erected in November 2011! It was supposed to be a replacement for the one in front of it but now that in-cab digital signalling on the southern section of the ECML is about to take place I very much doubt that it will ever be used. Thank you for watching and commenting.
