I’m very much a dark wood girlie but the way the green neutralised that red was astonishing, although it’s basic colour theory, to actually see it truly neutralise it! It gave the wood a calming Scandinavian feel, I think. ☺️
The outside was amazing the scandinavian look with the colour and style was great blue me away how the red just disappeared. Not a fan of how the paper took it away from the scandi look and turned into 60s look. But it showcases your artistry for design. Well done x❤
Love the paper - gives it a funky, young feeling that it needed after the colourwash. Also really happy to see the odies adding a little bit of warmth and definition back to the grain (though that was probably still showing irl) But the reason I watch every video and try to comment every time is the kindness and respect you give to each and every piece, cheap chipboard or beautyful burl - every piece you touch lookes loved when it leaves your hands. Thanks for putting that energy into the world
So fresh! This looks fab but I think the biggest take away I get from your work is the importance of patience and pay attention to detail work, thanks!
I hit the like button before I even watched the video! I honestly dont think you have ever made a video that I wasn't in love with the outcome. Your driveway looks like mine right now, Love from ALASKA!
Just a little FYI: I watch a channel unrelated to furniture where the host took a You Tube university course for her graduate degree in journalism and she learned a lot of the ins and outs of YT that are not commonly known. She said that if a viewer hits the like button within the first 60 seconds of viewing, RU-vid interprets it as a bot instead of a human and many times will negatively affect the video's algorithm. So as confident as you are that you are going to like the video, just give it a minute before liking it. Happy viewing :)
Hi Angie....different than what we expect of you. I'm always very happy when artists break the mold. I can see this piece in a room whose walls are of a darker color Love it. Thank you.❤
Oh goodie! Another video. I love them so much I wait until I'm settled on the couch, with my laptop and blankie and can devote ALL my energy to it. Wonderful job as always.
That interior paper, along with the dark legs, pulled together the interior and exterior perfectly. I love this piece. But then, even when you do something that's not my style, I always love your work!!
Nowhere to go But Up on this Basic Model Brown UGGO! And WOW, You used its own Minimalism to Accentuate the Simple line! A Real Utilitarian Beauty! Oh, and BLEAH on all that Snow! Too Much for Me! (Cold Emoji).
Another beautiful piece. Definitely the dark legs. Yeah I would have never picked that interior color stick on paper I wouldn't have been able to imagine it. It looks very good. You Definitely have the eye for design.
Hi, The piece looks terrific. I hope you don't mind a suggestion. The big reveal at the end is my favorite part. Showing a photo of the finished piece before I watch takes the excitement and mystery out of the big reveal. I'm a big fan and love your show. Thanks
You certainly gave this piece a whole new lease on life :) The light result harkens back to the "blonde" Scandinavian finishes that were so popular in the 50's and 60's and is in keeping with the design of the piece. Beautiful quality work!
I didn't even notice the 'one piece' veneer pattern across the whole front face - the lighter tone really brought that to life...great choice Ange! Your videos are always informative, interesting, educational, and a joy to watch. We've got 38 degrees C with 85%+ humidity in my neck of the woods so that snow looks so inviting (though I'm sure that's not how it feels on your end LOL)
I love that you vacuumed your blouse! This neutral wash is GORGEOUS! The dark legs are so elegant! I love everything on this piece! Thanks so much for sharing
That is absolutely beautiful!! I love that paper too! It all just works so well together! You are too good at what you do girly 😊 I love watching your transformations, and I always learn something new! So thank you very much for sharing! That finish really does look like buttery goodness, and the Odie’s also adds so much depth to everything that you use it on! I appreciate that you always share which products you use
It looks sooooo nice! While I watched this, I thought about some furniture pieces I own and, for sentimental reasons, can't part with, this type re-do would be perfect. As always, I'm a fan of your meticulousness.
Omg! The snow, the cold! It was 75 here today! (Florida!). I’m 66 and have never seen snow like that! EVER! How do y’all do it? This piece was educational with the light wash color. Something to think. It reminds me of a turntable/vinyl record storage unit.
Any of us that are born here are used to it - it's a MASSIVE shock to anyone who moves here though, I can tell you that much. I'm so glad you like it!!
Absolutely beautiful! I didn't like anything about this piece before you transformed it. You have such an amazing gift for seeing the hidden potential in a piece!
I prefer the natural tones of walnut, mahogany, and rosewood but this is beautiful. Good choice on the dark legs as it helps to ground the piece. All in all another great job, Angie.
Loved the way this piece turned out! I really appreciated the color matching you did here with the stains, wallpaper (love love love it!) And staging decorations. That Algonquin paint by Fusion is a chameleon. It's beige without being boring. It matches very nicely with the dark mahogany interior and that wallpaper. The colors on that you picked up with those carnival glass pieces and the bourbon/whiskey bottle. Very nice presentation!!!! Oh and yeah I would totally buy this piece. Would look right at home in my home office! Cheers and stay warm!
I think it is beautiful-so much better than the original dark version. Your decisions are always right on. I’m amazed at your skill with the peel-and-stick! I’m challenged with that-even sticky notes give me trouble. Excellent job! ⭐️
My parents (I'm74) had a similar cabinet. They had music albums in the cabinet and a turn table on top. I can hear the sound of the sliding doors and remember some of the music played. "Tom Dooley" by the Kingston Trio!!! Memories!! I love how you transformed this cabinet!! Thanks for the flash back.
That paper is stunning, how can someone hate it?? I dare say it is the best part of this piece, it gives warm and cute vibes in contrast to the cold exterior. Awesome job as usual ❤
Wonderful piece of 1960’s furniture. It’s just beautiful and i do like the contact paper inside. My daughter loves furniture from this time period. She would absolutely love this piece.
I like the light color with the contrast of the darker interior. The wallpaper looks great! Gives it interest. I liked seeing the woodgrain still come through. Awesome piece, Angie. Thanks for sharing.
This is the first time I’ve watched your channel. I would have never looked at this piece twice in its original condition. I didn’t see its potential. I love the final product! ❤
I tend to save those for the laminate pieces, or ones with pretty cheap species of veneer like birch. For things like mahogany and walnut, I'd rather just let the grain be the focus, but I definitely plan to do some more soon!
I like the more natural finishes and letting the natural beauty of the wood shine but understand that there area varies of tastes. You always do such meticulous work. Love your channel
Forget the cabinet, I want the glasses!!😂😂😂. Looks absolutely stunning as usual Angie! You are so talented, and have great visions for all of your pieces…. 😊❤
I went in deep for the limed look in the 80s and have replaced most of that so I have been slow to accept it a second time, but this is really beautiful with the two colors of wood together. You really nailed it. Beautiful.
Such an amazing transformation. 😮 It looks so modern and stylish, compared to the dowdy appearance showing its age before you worked your magic. Just, wow. 👍😊 Another winner. 🏆👍😊
I love natural mahogany but that wash looks so modern AND retro at the same time! Such a wise choice and the wallpaper really does add interest. Great job- as always.
You've given this piece a timeless elegance with everything you've done with it. I especially love the Algonquin colour, and the interior paper lining.
I’m lukewarm on the aesthetics of this piece but I continue to be impressed with the quality workmanship you put in every piece. And, as always your work inspires me to try new things.
