I did this in my Ford fusion this year and was able to spend a solid 6 weeks on the road, traveling from Florida to Canada and back, while getting comfortable sleep just about every night. Two usb fans and mesh window covers also allow you to get some decent airflow too. Must have saved at least $2500 on hotel stays and still visited Nashville, Toronto, Niagara Falls, NYC, Philadelphia, and tons of other places!
@@dejahvu227agree! If you figure out your measurements… go to Home Depot or Lowes and buy plywood… they can cut it for you too. They don’t promise exact as a guarantee, but they will get it close enough.
I'm wondering if taking out the passenger seat in front and disconnecting the seat belt wiring, doesn't that freak out your air bag indicators and belt alarms? Thinking you should be hearing alarms, ans lights going off on dashboard??
@mommieofdos I saw a video a few months back about a girl who was severely burned when her jet boil tipped over in her car. I can't find the video now 😫
Good idea with the front seat with a car. I put 4 large coleman coolers together the same way (got them $6 each at end of season at shop rite) in a back seatless area in back of my element and put bedding on top. Kind of hard though. I tried plastic storage containers but decided I was too heavy maybe for that. Like your set up bc you can just throw passengers in the back, and 2 instead of one. Have fun.
Great idea. Then put camping supplies and clothes in each one. And sturdy enough and won't collapse like plastic bins might. Air camping mats might work that can roll up and stash away when needs. Lovin this idea.
This is luxury compared to the wagon trail. I’m so glad to see people far removed from the 1980s era of greed and getting really down to earth and human.
Thank you!! There’s no specific places really. I buy them wherever I travel. My mom also makes me homemade earrings and I wear some of my grandmother’s hand-me-down earrings!
Hi camper , I can live in my Toyota scion 😎😁👍. Bed on the back right side, no seats removed , back seat just put down , blankets for padding and foam bed pad on top. Sleeps comfortable . Cooking things and stove in a box for meal , small table and chair. Clothes in a laundry bag on the left back seat. Front passenger seat and floor for foods and ice chest. I’ve been in for a summer and enjoyed it. I might become homeless soon and at 65 it isn’t easy especially with my health condition. My choices aren’t to good. I’m on SSI disability and can’t afford anything now a days. God bless us all 🙏♥️.
Sounds like you have a great set-up! I’m so sorry to hear that you may be homeless soon, but I find it comforting to know that I’ll at least have my car to provide me shelter. I hope you feel this way as well and try to enjoy the journey as much as you can.
Hi 👋🏻 it’s good to hear from you. I can’t believe what happens to you when you worked all your live & get hurt from the job. Almost cost you your life sometimes. Life sure can be hard at time but just keep going.
I've seen a couple of people that prefer to sleep with their passenger seat leaned back. I'm so jealous haha because they can use all that space in the back for other stuff 😂
Brilliant! I love all the storage space under the mattress. Not very stealthy if somebody sees it from outside, but hey, you can sleep pretty comfortably!
❤ Love the simple solution. But I wonder how long it takes you to get back pain. Would add a simple side fold board to have a straight surface to sleep on even you have that think cosy matress. Blessings
This is the video that i stumbled upon and now im addicted. I like ypur lil channel. I think you should travel America picking up trash, meeting people and teaching people how to be free w good morals. ❤😊❤
No, I have a Cadillac CTS. But I’m so excited for you!! That car will be great for rough terrain and you get a bit more space than my car. Happy adventuring :)
I would settle for a great sleep position enough room to turn over and if you get good mileage and can sleep comfortably in the car, I believe you can afford to purchase your meals or at least Your coffee in the morning
Theres rolls of black tint you can buy at the dollar store. Or even oreder on temu to black out your windows. you It comes off easily and can be reapplied.
Get you another container and also get your mattress firm from from Walmart and put your cooler on the seat on the other side to make it even when you get another container😊❤
Saw another car camper who mentioned safety sensors and legalities. Had an Auto electrician legally terminate all electrics so all safety sensors read positive and no warning lights.
This is what i want to do with my Suzuki Ignis but i don't think i legally can. I live in Australia and apparently it isn't legal here. It looks great in your car though 😊
I ended up ditching the cooler because the ice in it only lasts 1-2 days and gas station ice is twice the price as Walmart but you’re not always near a Walmart. So I donated the cooler and ate non-perishable food instead.
Your in a Cadillac, so I wonder why you dont sell that to get a van, which would give you more room to function in, because the price the Cadillac brings could could get you a nice van, with no out of pocket extra cash to make that happen.🤔🧐
I was considering that for a long time but there were no vans with good miles or for a good price in my area. I also need my car to commute to work or school everyday so I’d have to sell and buy the same day. Also the vans I would really like have terrible gas mileage so my car makes more sense to start with and I also don’t want to part with her. And my Cadillac only has 104,000 miles.
KEEP the Caddy! I really need a van I can LIVE IN, but my car only has 84K and I've had it 15 years since almost new. Also, like you say, all vans are way over priced to sell my dependable vehicle with low mileage in order to buy. And I own my car. You are smart. @@dejahvu227
