For those trying to install the part 1 & 2 audio drivers, extract both folders first, and then right-click on the Setup Information file within each folder and you'll see the "Install" option. Hope this helps!!
Watched about three other tutorials and couldn’t get through them without an issue was about to give up till I came across your video. Works like a charm! Thank you, subbed!
@@CyberDopamine hey dude, now that I have windows running do I have to pull the micro sd out to access my steam games? Or can I do that from within windows? I’d love to see how you run games from windows. Sorry I’m a noob!
Hmm I know ima bit late but I kinda need help I’m following this mostly and I don’t know how or what partitions to get rid of so can you please help me? But at least I’m in windows, that’s all I want rn so def gonna sub and all that fun jazz! Ps: need to know how to get rid of partitions on the sd card!
Hey @STEAMDECK NATION, you're amazing. Your content has been very helpful to me. I will make sure to spread the word and support your channel moving forward. God speed!!
Video deserves more credit. Simple and easy process. Did some windows tweaks to get everything running but so far KH3, MW, etc running smoothly. Thanks for the help. Just be aware windows is free mode not free. You'll get that watermark later which google can help with. I have tested this off internal and SD card. Didn't see much of a difference. Make sure SD card is A2 or higher. Thanks for this!
was having a ton of trouble creating a bootable drive on an m1 mac via parallels, decided to follow this and try via deck before giving up entirely, worked like a charm. bonus thanks for the iso upload! subbed!
Works like a champ! Thank you so much for putting together this video and equally importantly, the iso to use. This is so far the easiest way to get Windows running on the Deck! Hoping to see more helpful content from you! Big fan! I'm going to do everything I can to get you some visibility and help grow your channel! Cheers! 😊
@@gilbertolopez9028 your running a downloaded version of windows you will have to buy a ldk 200 DOLLAR KEY unless you figure out how to get one for free anyway hope this helps:)
@@JesTheBarber With GOOD Wi-Fi I wouldn't recommend you do it at work, it can take up to 11 hours (happened to me on vacation) but I would recommend you keep this sort of thing at home due to time's sake.
@@FlowsPcs okay, awesome! Thank you. I can leave it in my office at my barbershop. The wifi at my shop is very strong. I'm super excited to try it out tomorrow! Thanks again!! 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Thank you .. I was able to download the IMG overnight and while at work follow your lead and installed windows. It's was actually easy to do and it works. Thanks again.
Very knowledgeable,we’ll done I’ll be getting my steam deck in a week or so, as a beginner, your page is definitely gonna be helpful to me So thanks you.
Thank you for this video, my friend! And the Windows for steam deck! You've saved me a ton of time! I've received the drawing tablet today that I bought online and Windows just seems far better for compatibility :)
This is awesome! Great tutorial! Quick question 🙋 - after you partition the SD card to get your storage back can it still be used within Steam OS or is it locked to being used in windows only?
OLED compatible is misleading. Per Steam, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Audio drivers for Windows on Steam Deck OLED are currently being worked on, and will be available soon. Which is to say if you have an OLED model and you follow these instructions, you will not have Wi-FI, Bluetooth or Audio. You can find the Wi-Fi drivers on the internet but BT and Audio are not currently available.
This worked completely for me! Thanks! The only problem is the download takes ages on the steam deck. I ended up using my computer and a separate program to download the file and then transferred it to my steam deck. This took maybe 25 minutes vs waiting what said “6 hours”. Again great vid man! Hoping this helps someone as I downloaded it for 2 hours and canceled it because I knew there had to be a better way.
This was an amazing video and so easy to do…thank you so much for making this video. I put off adding windows to my steam deck because it seemed like it was too much. So glad I found this video. The download for windows 10 took awhile but it was worth it. I’m so happy.
22 May 2024, works as described and demonstrate. Now I have a full fledge Windows on a Steam Deck! And activated Windows using another method too. Thank you for the tutorial!
THANK YOU! Very informative and precise. I can finally play Fortnite on my deck.If only the Windows IMG file didn’t take so long lol, but everything else worked like absolute butter. You deserve more credit.
YEAH ILL TRY THIS TODAY LOOKS PRETTY SIMPLE OTHER PEOPLE HAVE WAYS BUT ITS TOO MANY STRPS AND TOO CONVOLUTED WITH DIRECTIONS THANKS LOVE THE DECK COMMUNITY
@@CyberDopamineIM ALWAYS HERE FOR YOUR VIDEOS WE ARE STEAMDECK BROS FOR LIFE IM LITERALLY JUST FINISHED DOWNLOADING THE ISO HAD TO GO THE TORRENT ROUTE BUT IM ABOUT TO TEST THIS OUT WISH ME LUCK BRO ONLY BAD SIDE IS ITS ONLY 256GB SD CARD BUT ILL MAKE IT WORK FOR NOW CANT WAIT FOR MORE VIDEOS KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK
@@allhandsonsteamdeck1440 256 is ok! its not bad at all. Good luck with it! We are the founding fathers of the steamdeck. And when this is hte future of gaming, we get to telll everybody how we were the first
@@CyberDopaminecould you help me out? I’ve been trying this but when I try to flash steamdecknation onto etcher it says “error: (0, h.requestmetadata) is not a fuction
my league of legends bottles method for league of legends wasnt' working anymore after a patch. so i decided to make the switch and you just earned a sub and a like my friend. didn't take long. One note for people. I had to do this method twice cause the wifi drivers didn't copy for some reason the first time. so if you don't see them after you open windows then just save yourself time and do it again.
Thank you so much dude , Im waiting on my memory card to arrive, realised I was going to deal with some serious headache , as my.laptop is at my parents house, your video pops up , now I know, once my memory card arrives (hopefully tomorrow ) I can do all of this with ease and speed before I go to bed after my night shift ;)
@@FlowsPcs Nope. Instead I gave up trying it without a pc. I would advise you have someone use their windows pc and help. It takes like 35 min maximum and is way easier to figure out. Works like a charm though
Mine worked perfectly, set it up on mine and my sisters, once downloading the IMG file (not torrent) I used the etcher flash onto the micro sd and then chose the ‘ssd/microsd’ file from boot manager
Usually I don’t trust an img that I didn’t create but yo… this is the only tutorial that worked for me! Well that and the WinDeckOS one! But I needed windows 10 to play valorant so this is awesome! Thanks man! I etched this to an SSD and not a micro tho
I am not very tech savvy. And am a new gamer, so I've been trying to learn how to use all the good mods for Fallout 4. And I been trying to find a video that I understood to add windows to my steam deck, I can't wait to try this when I get home! Thanks!
@@JesTheBarber is it possible to do this without sd card? I’m already 600$ in I don’t wanna spend extra on a card. I think I’m gonna return my deck and just get a legion go for the windows so I can play game pass. I’m not tech savy
Great work dude, you earned a subscriber. One question, do you have to have a 1TB SD Card? I was confused about that because Windows only takes up like 20GB. Is that just because it was originally formatted to Linux and that's taking up the whole partition and you have to format it to be exclusively Windows?
Aloha from Hawaii! Thank you for this instructional video! I was able to get Windows on my SD card easy. Now I can play PUBG. I am looking forward to more content! Subbed!
Hello, Ive tried opening etcher on steam deck but it only shows me the files for etcher can you tell me which one opens Etcher properly so i can use it? thank you :)
with your tutorial, can you setup extermal memcard as steam OS and external memcard as windows? then can you choose to boot vice versa by holding power and volume up? or do you need a separate memcard for steam OS?
Hello followed through the setup till the WiFi installation, I tried installing it but it did not work. So I used tethering to mitigate for now but I now cannot do the partition part because of a problem with the software whenever I open it. Are there any other alternatives I could use or do for this and a fix for the WiFi problem?
Just saw your video man. I have been waiting for someone to get to the point and make it simple for people like me. Tech savy-ish but not crazy lol. Can I use a 8gb sd card? I have subscribed so thank you!
Thank you so much. Finally got windows 10 on my steam deck. One issue is that after the restart. I still don’t have any audio yet. Will I need to run the setups for audio drivers 1 and 2 to get them working?
Everything sorta worked. When I booted into windows I didn't get the RTWlanF_WindowsDriver... folder. I'm stuck and I don't know what to do. PLEASE HELP
I am having an issue downloading the Windows drivers onto the SD card. I copied the files, but there's no paste option available, so now I'm stuck. Other than that, Windows has downloaded successfully
Hay I'm having a hard time figuring out what I did wrong I followed every step but after clicking the windows img. It errors like as if I did something wrong please it would be very helpful to know what I'm doing wrong
@Cyber Dopamine I'm having severe exe install issues....When I douple click on a exe file it says Select the program you want to use to open the file I'm stuck and don't know what in the blue hell to do
This was very helpful and informative video. Thank you. The etcher tool is an especially useful tool to try out different OSes. One question though: how do I upgrade to Win11? Do I need to activate Win10 first or is there someway to get 11 for free?
My phone died as I was setting up the last two parts and internet , now I’m stuck on the windows password screen and I can’t even type a password in, I hooked up a keyboard and still won’t let me type anything in. Someone pls help
I thought I copied the windows driver to the SD card and continued the process. When I realized it wasn’t there, how do I back track so that I can add it. Steam won’t let me format and I can’t add it back in? Help
To backtrack, you will need to format the sd card via computer or phone that has an sd slot as far as I’m aware. And why didn’t the file show up? Did you drag and drop inside a sub folder?
