Hey man, nice vid! You've really got me thinking that I'd do myself some good with a Steam Deck. I just wish valve made a Steam DOCK with an eGPU to go along with it for playing on the TV. Quick unsolicited tip, you can take the cleaned up audio track from adobe podcast and set it at 75% volume with your original track at anywhere between 25%-50% to make the VO sound much more natural.
I returned the ally x because of qc issues and I’ve been much happier with the legion go. The screen size and detachable controllers are badass. As a full time worker this device is perfect for me.
The point I pick Legion Go is I can take off the gamepads/controller and it turn into a very neat looking tablet run Win11, also it powerful enough to play any video game I want.
The introduction to debloating is misleading. It compares a system that has been running for a long time and has a 'flat' CPU load to a system that has just started and naturally experiences a CPU spike during the boot process. If you pay closer attention, you'll notice that the number of processes remains the same before and after debloating (203 vs 210).
Why does BazziteOS not support mods? I don't know about GTA but at least on the steamdeck i can mod games without problem and also use steam workshop. But again, I don't know how modding gta V works.
I dont know why people have a hard time choosing between this device's. I, for example, use my steam deack oled mostly for lite 3d games. Lots of 2d games and emulators. Also, for people who love console like operating systems, they love steam deck OS. But for people who play heavy 3d games and love to play them on high-quality settings and love windows base devices, they can go for rog Ally x or Legion Go. Very simple. 😁
I love the idea of taking it to work and playing between breaks. Lol. But I get what you were saying and appreciate the review. I know what handheld I want now.
When steam realeases oficial steam OS support im ditching windows, windows aint that bad but I can use my laptop if I really need windows for some reason, a handheld experience is much better with steamOS
Hey bro i subbed, i had a question. Be honest . Ally x is legion go? I really think the more ram , vrr , and battery make it a winner for the x, however the screen is small. The legion go has such a good build. And feels amazing but no vrr, u cant get the full resolution which SUCKSS. So 144hz screen is also worthless since it wont get that powerful. But it has a kickstand and can be a tablet. I have a hard time choosing. Specs say ally x but what do u think
Terrible console. Had my steam deck 4 months longer than the rog and had the rog for 9 months. The rog in that time is freezing, not following my input commands eg unintelligible games or installing games, is running extremely slow. The steam deck? Absolutely bang on no issues whatsoever ever. The rog is £150 more than the deck!! My advice, do NOT buy the rog unless you are offered it at less than 50% off. Otherwise you'll end up with a worthless paperweight. Honestly the worst purchase I have ever made in my life. And I bought starwars outlaws!!
You have to update the audio drivers on the Legion Go. They still wont blow you away, definitely a much better improvement over how it comes from factory.
For battery life, I would recommend turning on "use per-game profile" under the ... menu. Lower the TDP power until you find the sweet spot where your FPS doesn't dip during heavy action. This is really great for less graphically intensive games. Just placed order for Extremerate clicky buttons and Gulikit hall-effect joysticks. I already had the joysticks on my LCD version and really liked them. First time trying the clicky buttons and I hope they remove that mushy feeling of the d-pad. I think you could improve your videos by including a small text in one of the corner of the screen to show the name of the game currently on the screen. I know this takes some more editing but would really be helpful for the viewer.
I find a lack of videos like this in youtube. Firstly its somehow cool looking at you just being out in the nature talking about these things. Secondly, huge thanks for going through every other device and honestly comparing one characteristic after another. I find it too time consuming to watch reviews just talking about one device when I'm comparing them before buying. Thanks
Regarding some feedback, I lacked an outro a bit but I liked that there's no big intro like others do. I'm more than ok to just have you saying "hi, it's me, check out what I have here"
