Three hours to go and decided to cancel my Grimcoven pledge. I was already feeling uneasy after watching “Shelfside’s” review but your rant helped me decide to act.
I'm pledging all in on Cysmic because you can't stop me. Also I had a lot of fun playing on tabletop simulator. I'm going to be honest, I really do think the miniatures will add to the game and make parsing the board state easier. I'm really excited for it
I’m going all in on cysmic because everyone seems to love it. It appears “meh” to me but hopefully my game group will enjoy it. Never played on TTS either just reading the page and watched a couple reviews
@toddcontino7271 As somebody that regularly hosts Cysmic games you should come by tomorrow. I'm holding 2 sessions (1pm and 6pm EDT) to celebrate the last day of the campaign
A while ago a campaign ended that in my opinion should be an example of organization. I'm talking about Dark Blood. It's great that there is someone who comments on these campaigns based on their criteria and experience. But, it would be great to see you comment on the other side. Or in any case. What do you think of that project?
On the subject of Monolith Games... Looks like their current delivery of Batman is an utter fail. People are get garbage product due to bad quality control. I backed Isfet and after the bad delivery of Ragnarok (poorly packed deliveries which led to damaged product) and now quality control issues on Batman, I am having regrets backing Isfet. Now I am thinking that Monolith is going to eat it on any profits thanks to their mess up. Go look at comments on Batman Season 3. What a sh*t show. Come on Monolith!?!
Regarding saturation in titles which see 3 (or more) campaigns: I totally get your point. I would like to add another thought avenue. In case of some publishers (game brewer, gray fox games, ludos magnum studio, etc) they might have issues with capitalising their client base due issues with campaigns. One thing to note on LMS, they put out good games. However their campaigns don't go very high in funding. Why is that? My opinion is due poor backer satisfaction. My example, I would never back any LMS game again despite my love with BRW. How many campaigns are needed for Gray Fox games to deliver a Tsukuyumi game without issues? These examples pile on.
I’ve actually changed my opinion of Dune War for Arrakis. Was totally not sold on it first time round, was happy to just have War of the Ring. Been watching gameplay and thinking yeah ok this is interesting and different from WotR, probably preorder now. Skipping all the rest.
I backed Apothebakery: love the look of the game. But I agree it’s gonna be a light game. I backed it because i wanna play it with my daughter: she’s eleven. So it’s a Family game for me
On trick takers. I really enjoyed rebel princess, looking forward to the release of the deluxe edition. I’m sure you’ve already played it, but good to put on the radar!
I would argue your grips with 7 Citidal being primary solo, is more for 7th Continent. After playing it it really is better with at least 1 other person, so for me its a 2 person game.
I think your best bet to get the Dune Exclusive Extras is to ask your FLGS if they'll be stocking it or find a local group buy. Really annoying that you can't just purchase the add-ons.
well for this one you won(grimcoven) lol i cancel 3h before it was over but i still have all-in for hexplore it so i’m waiting for a reason not to jump on that wagon…😂
Backed it. i liked how we where able to vote things into the game, and the "losing" vote, is "dlc" content. so if you rly want it, you can get it too. OFC you could have both in it, but how big the box will be then. Who wants another double siced ATO Package in the Shelf ahahahahha :D
Just want to note that you pretty heavily misrepresented the Tsukuyumi campaign. 1. It's being run by King Racoon (the original creator) with help from GFG and Dice Trayz. 2. It's not just continual new editions of the same thing. 1.0 was the original standee version, 2.0 was miniatures, 2.5 is cleaning up some wording and such (creator is German, so translation issues happen). 3. There are 5 new factions and a new module in this campaign (new to minis, they exist in the standee version).
I already backed the original Dune war for Arakkis and I lost interest in grimcoven and nothing else here interests me. At this point I'm not backing much anymore. I used to back about $700-$1000 a month in Kickstarters and then another few hundred in purchases from online retailers. It was all fomo backing and at this point I have 600+ games and just sold 125+ games in the last 6 months so I'm good with my collection at this point and I'd rather just get unplayed games to the table for this year
I agree with you :) I also decided to not back Grimcoven because I don't find it very original (in it's gameplay or settings). And I wanted to back Dune : War for Arrakis, but since I'm mostly playing alone... About Mythic Battles, it's the Greek Pantheon I prefer the most from the 3 settings and I already own MBP ;p
The core game is usually all you will ever play and the core pledge is always easily the best deal. In the rare case you want more you can always get it somewhere (and often for less).
Trekking the World 2nd ed has a 20-30% discount off MSRP and free shipping in the US. If you want to get the expansion the KS may be the best way to go, but if you don't want it then you will probably be able to save a few dollars by waiting for retail. Given that they expect to deliver in 8 months instead of the now-normal 12+ months should be an indicator that the art and design are almost complete. I didn't get the 1st ed or even the previous games from the publisher but I'm seriously thinking about getting this one especially since I could use a few more lighter games in my collection.
Listening your videos, we should not support anything, w8 for retail version and second hand market. Just keep in mind, we are supporting ideas and we get something unique, some extra content for it. If you dont want to wait or dont take any risk at all, go to a shop and pick something from the self. PS: guy with hundreds of board games telling us do not support anything. Pathetic.
No. Personal Stories is not a campaign. It's snippets and as you play you get more unlocked gear of a character. It's like TT unlock special gear cards as you play more you unlock gear for the next play session. It's a legacy like element. They're not "dipping their toes everywhere."
No. The game is not a pure boss battler. It has minions, it has elites, it has a mini-campaign addon. So Chris is quite right saying that Grimcoven isn’t a focused boss battler like say KDM, Townsfolk Tussle, Primal, etc. If it tries to do too much it will suck.
