NO FORGE FILE KNIFE (REVIEW) 

A few weeks ago I made a knife from a file without using a forge and today I am testing it out
I don't recommend making a knife without doing a full heat treat, since the edge could be brittle, but if you don't have a forge and want to see if you enjoy making knives this is a cheap option.
I wanted to see how well this knife would preform against a rope chop, batoning some wood, and hitting a the edge against a large log
